    Ah, you uploaded this at the perfect time! Started playing roller hockey a few weeks ago, and my skating is pretty weak. I'll definitely apply most of these to the pavement. Thanks!

      A trick is to lift up the puck up on the boards and you can literally carry it

    What a great video! Thank you, guys! Also videos would be great only for beginners 101, with all the exercises, you guys recommend, balance, edges, and stop skills etc, then an intermediate and advanced video!

    An idea I had for a video could possibly be help on using defense as a screen when shooting on a goalie. Or like things too try on the rush.

    Have been following your videos for some time now. Use them with my squirts a lot because you do not try to stuff too much into each video. What do you suggest for the backwards skater that won't sit back and then lacks balance and confidence to do cross unders?

    Thanks for the videos and tutorials for those of us that do not have this at our local rinks. Also, what kind of drill do you have for someone that had hip replacement surgery? I have been back on the ice now since last November trying to find my stride and foot work.

    Holy hell do you ever make dropping to your knees and getting back up look easy. We did this drill at hockey practice the other day and all of us were sprawled all over the place. 😂 I can fairly say you make a really tough drill look like nothing... and I need to practice waaaaaaaay more!

    can u make a video on where u should be for faceoffs as left wings

    • @Skookumm
      @Skookumm 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no right or wrong answer to your question, as a Left winger in the D-zone you may be asked to setup on the right wing just inside the right winger to attack the opposing defence man dependant on where the puck is won off the face off. Or your coach may want you to line up on your normal face off side which means you have a certain job to do but it all depends on which coach you have and what THEY want to left winger to do its not really up to you unless you're in house league

    my biggest problem with balance is when i try to shoot, my balance when i am stickhandling is not that bad, could use some practice but its fine for now and i can skate relatively fast but when i try to shoot, my balance just gives up and i take very slow and weak shots that either dont get lifted up(not always but it happens) or they always go to the crest of the goalie, im gonna do these drills as much as possible if i can but could there be anything else i can do?

    Does any one know how to fix this? When I go on the outside edge of my right skate it slides out from under me. I don't know what I have to do or if it is just due to the blade itself

    ok this is a dumb question, how do i know which of my foot is dominant? always thought it's my right, but it turns out i could balance better on my left side O.o

    • @danyfournier693
      @danyfournier693 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheFantasyFen its easy stand straight and ask someone to push u back if your not thinking at it the foot that goes back first is your dominant foot

    • @sryabkov2
      @sryabkov2 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheFantasyFen I think another way is just to see which foot is stronger

    • @sryabkov2

    Nice im going to try this, the only this that sucks is that i live in Miami fl so you can imagine hockey isn't popular,i can go to the ice arena and pay 7 public skating but the only time you can play hockey is Tuesdays and Sundays and its only for one hour and its 15 bucks -__-. The league is way too expensive and i think they season os super short. I wanna move up north just for hockey!

    • @KyleMorelli
      @KyleMorelli 11 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wow 15 bucks for an hour of hockey is crazy! Here in Canada, public skating and shinny hockey is about 3 dollars an hour sometimes an hour and a half, and free ball hockey too!

    • @sryabkov2
      @sryabkov2 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      15 bucks wow here in New York it’s about 11$

    • @sryabkov2

    How do you avoid spinning out when sliding one knee? I am in the later stages of developing all the basic hockey skating maneuvers but for the life of me I can't figure out why I start spinning out.

    • @kelseyharder4978
      @kelseyharder4978 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure to keep your stick pointed straight and your abs tight.

    • @BoredAtWork2000
      @BoredAtWork2000 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep your back foot upright, or in other words your toe pointing down on the ice. NOT the inside of your boot (he actually did this in the video but didn't spin).

    • @Starrystorm6
      @Starrystorm6 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep your eyes looking where you want to go. Don't look down at the ice. Eyes and chest up.

    Just started learning how to skate and one thing im finding out fast is that i have no balance when i try to skate. I keep my knees bent and everything but I always end up bending my ankles in and skating on my inside edge because it feels more stable. Is this normal for someone who has never skated before? Whenever i try to skate with one leg to work on balance I try to keep my skate straight but always end up turning cause my ankles want to dip in. Any advice?

    I love these videos and their super helpful to me, but before you post 'em could you take a little time balancing the audio? It's all over the place. I keep having to adjust the volume to either hear you at all or keep from blowing my ear drums out. Thanks and keep up the great work! Please don't take my constructive criticism as trolling. You're awesome.
