I use Omnibus AIO with Tamrielic Textures. I’ve got a few videos if you haven’t seen that one. It’s become my fav of the parallax mods so far. Mods are in description as well.
@@AzViking69 I've seen MystiriousDawn's work before. I had to narrow down what to showcase this time. I used to use Tamrielic Textures back before I switched to Skyland. It's a classic texture mod, for sure.
@@BrandiUntzGamingChannel me too. Apparently I’m the only one that hates seeing the same washed out boring bland blah gray of Skyrim lol. Seems every mod list I see on TH-cam looks nearly the same and identical to vanilla except now in HD with bumpy parts. Everyone that’s seen my game in person or through videos says the same. Wow. Can I have your list? Tells me I’m doing something different from majority of others. My son came to visit over Christmas and his friends came over to visit him. They couldn’t believe I was playing Skyrim and I let them try it out and each one of them redownloaded Skyrim before they even left my house haha. They had a ball with it.
Hi, Skurkbro here. Really interesting & cool to see different landscape mods compared like this when we all mostly use same sourcesfiles, they all stand out in their own way regardless. Can't show any bias, but Skyland looks incredible though. Thanks for showcasing my landscape mod
Hi Skurkbro! Thank you for all the mods you do for Skyrim. Was happy to feature yours as one of he ones here. I agree it's fascinating to see the differences and similarities.
Atlanteans sand looks so nice. I think on comparison videos like this, the ones that look "the best" are the ones that stand out the most. However, in game i prefer the ones that are a bit more subtle and flow together. Thanks for the vid
There's definitely a flaw to parallax. Stretching can not be completely avoided. I found Skyland to have done the best job reducing that. Atlantean also handled it well.
I feel the same way and skyland is good. What I’ve seen with noble HD complex parallax is really great quality so far. Between the two I have one texture to report, stone house in whiterun I think.
I wish I had seen this earlier. A great comprehensive showcase of some of the top Landscape mods. I have always struggled to find just the right one, so after watching this I will try Skyland, even though Skyking (the author) has moved on to a new project. This I'll combine with CleverCharff's Forgotten Vale as, IMO, it has the best icicles to date. If there is one game breaker for me it is the poor (horrible) icicles hanging off architecture and rocks. I hope you do more of these comparison vids, they are really helpful.
Can't wait for my new PC to arrive and start using these Parallax landscapes on them. I might have to wait a bit longer though, because assembly of my custom PC build is taking longer then expected.
I think it would have been nice if you show a still image all 4 of them side by side at the end of each scene. Anyway, I was planning on downloading Pfuscher's because it seems to be used in every mod list ever, but after seeing this, I am confused. While the textures themselves look fancy, I think they don't look that great when applied to the actual game meshes. Too much texture, I think. It's hard to explain. To me, Skyland is the best. It is simple but looks really good.
Thank you for this!!! Well put together its what I needed! Not all of them translate the same to VR but it gives me a better idea of what to expect! Skurkbro and skyland are looking good on flatrim thats for sure! Im using Cathedral which is overwriting most of 202X but I will test them all by weeks end.
Its interesting to me that each one has some really amazing textures and some that are a bit lacking. Like Skurkbros waterside rocks are absolutely photoreal incredible, but his fall dirt and grass is very spikey and plain. Meanwhile Pfuzer has the best mud by far. What I'm working right now is getting them all and using the best of each authors work.
Thank you for making this video. It's a real labor of love AND a work of art! Well done! . . . . and it came at a good time, when I am just putting together a brand new modlist. It's so amazing how many incredible and excellent choices there are foe every part of this game now, thanks to all of these talented mod authors! I enjoyed seeing all of the beauty that parallax mods can give, and if I were only modding for the best landscapes and textures, it would be parallax all the way. But alas, I am also planning to use quite a few other animation mods, combat mods, mods to make already existent quests better, and mods to add more quest, and more npcs, and so I DO have to cut back somewhere. My PC is good. I have a Ryzen 5 5600 cpu, an RX6800 XT gpu, and 32 Gbs of ram, but I still find it groaning sometimes with large mod lists. So this time around I won't be using parallax mods, but instead I will build upon Skyland AIO, a mod that I have come to love and appreciate very much! But you know, its amazing that we are now at the point that there are quite a few non-parallax mods that still look so real and so 3D!!! And all created with a game engine that is so out of date, and a creation kit that is a living nightmare to use!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Skyland AIO is great, with or without parallax. Totally understand about pushing one's computer. We all have to pick and choose.
Like all of them but the 202x is the one that does most everything and all looks good, but I really like the fact that wiz kids atlantean one keep the color palette and look really consistent across the land so it’s not a jarring difference between zones. Either way pretty much all of them had stuff I like and dislike but those 2 seemed to fit my taste the best.
great movie tx a lot for taking the time to compare them side by side i guess it comes down to what preferences u have and what other landscape mods u using like tree, grass and so on im just building a new game tx to the new update.. but with every new update i get a chance to try new mods out and come up with new combinations of mods on this build im doing its gone be sky king or skurbros mods or maybe something between i have used wizkids but i find it makes my ground look like its sand everywhere but again is a taste thing.. is blue car better then a red car?? lol ty gain for your time and effort
next video i can suggest you: Qw patch 2 vs qw 1,vs evoons,vs nolvus mesh etc etc :) battle of the grass patches.nobody did it! and the battle for the Sky !
I wish the camera height was at gameplay height, no one plays at a couple cm from the ground, and static images changing between the different textures like the grass/weather comparisons would be easier to see, thanks anyways
Love your mods. Several shots are from player height, or crouched height. Close ups for most to let people see how a texture really handled parallax. Each mod was shot under the same weather and time of day per location (morning through afternoon hours were used) to help people see how areas of a game will look with that mod and its choice of landscape. After that, artistic license for the vibe I wanted for the video. Thank you for checking it out.
iam not trying to be rude, but i cant really judge by these clips because its not equally filmed or standing still on a scene, i think what you do is really nice however can i recommend that you do a comparison showcase filming place after place standing still and not change the angle or the view of the same scene, Thank you for all ur work
Thoughts are always appreciated it. I shot from the same location, time of day, weather, and height. I also used the same architecture and flora to keep everything else matching. The style of staying still for shots was not one I wanted for this video. I wanted to show the parallax effect and how each mod was handling the strength of it. So, besides the overall vibe of each landscape mod, you can get a sense of how their choices in creating parallax effect would look. Movement was important for that. There are always decisions to make when comparing mods on how to do it. In the end, no one can really get the feel unless they try each mod out for themselves. Thanks for watching.
@@BrandiUntzGamingChannelEh, i disagree with above. I appreciated the movement' gave a much better idea how these look. Thanks for the vid, i went with Pfusch's and have no regrets.
Always fascinating to me about people's tastes. I run opposite in which I think are best. What I love the most is that there are so many options for everyone.
Parallax isn't working or Skyland? All of them install the same. Install mod with your mod manager, make sure your ENB ini has parallax on. For Skyland, make sure you've installed the regular landscapes (AIO or the standalone), then the Landscapes Parallax mod, which needs to load after it.
Atlantean has had some updates since my video, mostly a fix of the normal maps. He should be releasing his Mountains and an AIO soon. Vivid Landscapes is by another mod author.
Do you use parallax in your game? If so, which landscape mod do you prefer?
