Raid weathers perfect for 2560 x 1080. Rest in peace Oliver. The lighting is absolutely incredible. Running on a Nvidia 1050ti 4gb. Best weather mod ever created in my opinion. In memory of Oliver. For bringing back Skyrim se with this incredible mod
Mythical ages is my favorite, Ive done testing of my own with several weather mods but something most people dont show is how the mods affect npcs apereance, and mythical because of how the light bounces over surfaces on that mod the skin of npcs really look like organic texture and not like plastic. for a true to life feel I think aequinoctium is the best just cranc up the contrast by 2 and reduce the brigtness by 2 with the display enhancement mod and you are set for a realistic look for the enviroments.
This video is so helpful and is kind of a masterpiece of art at the same time. I've always been such a big fan of Azurite and never really realized how much blue it gives off compared to some of the others. There's a couple I've never even even heard of that looked awesome and plan of giving them a try asap. Thanks!
I’ve been struggling with my game’s appearance after using Azurite. I kept thinking the grass and trees were too saturated in the daytime (the game starts in summer). Turns out it’s Azurite and I just need to try other mods. Cathedral is also pretty blue so far, but it’s a deep rich blue. It’s just odd how Azurite has no mist or fog during snow and rain. Matter of preference I guess, but it looks comparatively barebones. Probably has better performance though.
I love Cathedral because of all the blues and purples and pinks it adds. It’s so unique and it really is beautiful without straying from the cold feeling of Skyrim. My only complaint is that the storms are quite weak. I was thinking of trying Vivid next. It’s warmer than what I’d normally like for Skyrim, but it looks really pretty and I just want my next game to be pretty. It looks to have great stormy weather too.
Hey if you're on xbox someone made a mod capable of mixing true storms with any single lighting or weather mod. So you can have the good lighting with powerful and strong looking storms now
Thanks for doing this, I love these comparison videos. The fog one was interesting - some of the weathers don't actually HAVE any fog beyond ground mist. Vanilla sure looks better than I remembered too.
I just want to thank you for not only this whole video, but for having the comparisons be 5 seconds apart so I can use the TH-cam skip functions (arrows skip ahead and reverse 5 seconds) to compare shots at the press of a button
Thank you so much for your comparison videos - they’re a real asset. So frustrating when mod authors don’t provide before+after and other comparison screenshots or videos (or they do but for some reason the comparison conditions are totally different). It’s likely part of the reason mod authors don’t provide those seemingly-simple comparisons is the time and effort required to craft something that truly provides comparisons like these (where only the mod in question is changed and there aren’t a bunch of enb shaders obscuring the true visual differences).
I love that this comes up as posted 4 days ago as I literally just spent 4 hours trying to research and try better weather mods...been using dawn for a long time
Cot looks kinda the jack of all trades. Id love if this vid had also fps counter somewhere so we can figure wich is the less perf taxing, I believe all look good the best imo is the less demanding. Nice vid!
Amazing how just the weather mods can completely change the look of the game without the use of ENB or Reshade. From this video I decided on Cathedral Weathers because I really like the blue/green shade it adds to the game.
A suggestion for next comparisons - make each weather span over 10 seconds so you can easily fast forward with youtube to compare, as it fast forward by 10 second.
Wow, kudos for providing such a great service to the Skyrim modding community - there's something for every taste here and we didn't need to download gigabytes of mods and fight through integrating and testing them ourselves!
Dolomite is beautiful, my favorite of the samples. It seems to be the most consistently crisp and vibrant, not washed out, dull or hazy. There are a couple of others that look nice in various settings but to me Dolomite seems like the most satisfying all-around. The old classics look like they've finally been unseated.
I have been using Vivid Weathers for like a decade and its still great but Rustic in this video looking the best with that thicc rain, fog, and blizzard!
Thanks for this I was noticing a lot of blues lately it was Azurite Weathers seems like Ill be going back to Obsidian or Cathedral ashame too cause I was enjoying some of its sunny weathers
I love mythic for it does not make the game feel overly fantasy and it still adds dramatic colorful weathers that are not too bright or dark. And they bring back a similar feel to OG Skyrim weathers. (the only things I don't like with mythic) - level of bloom - the nights these can be fixed with mods easily.
Hey, just wanted to chime in and say that your videos are the best mod comparisons, you show lots of mods and have very nice editing. If I can offer some advice though, it would be to try to have the best visibility the scenario allows, that is to say well illuminated scenes and avoiding effects like rain and other enviromental factors (the bitrate suffers too much and it doesn't look good on youtube).
I've always preferred Obsidian and Mythical Ages, but this time I've chosen Azurite. I really like its more grayish atmosphere. As we know, gray and bluish colors, rainy weather and fog tend to hide the flaws of low-detailed textures and models in games. Other mods look great with ENB, but now I'm switching to Community Shaders + Reshade. Azurite is a perfect base for this. I'm going to customize it to my liking with real clouds that have realistic physics, volumetric fog mods, and shaders.
The most balances one seems to be Climates of Tamriel for that Vanilla Plus look, they all have their strength though, wonder how they look combined with various ENBs
Great job! Watched your video to the end With no less interest than at the beginnig and i fell in love With Autumn skies, its so...sober and Natural, i love its darker settings too.
I choose you! Cathedral Weathers and Seasons!? Really thank you for this comparison it really helped and I definitely didn't forget it was a comparison video halfway cuz of how visually beautiful the video was!
In my personal opinion, what weather mod may suit you most depends greatly on whether or not you use an ENB. If you are not using one, Obsidian, Azurite and NAT (the old one) are definitely the best imo. However, if you are using an ENB, NAT.III (the new one) probably has the best selection of ENBs. Of course, other weather mods all have at least a couple of great ENBs but other than NAT.III, the ones that stand out the most for me are Obsidian, Azurite, Cathedral, SOLAS and NLA. If you are going to use an ENB, you can always opt for vanilla weathers because there are a few great ENBs that uses vanilla weathers like Ruvaak Dahmaan.
Nat 3 is full of bloat and feature creep and tries to do way too much in an attempt to replace a bunch of other mods. It also completely messes up the soul cairn by adding the sun moon and stars to the sky box which makes it incompatible with great mods like Praedys soul cairn. If that's your thing then great but people should be aware of how much it changes before they commit to using it. Especially if you just want a weather mod not a weather fire lighting 6 in 1 shampoo and conditioner style one
Dolomite has always had that cinematic look even without an ENB, and Northern Saga was just pleasant to look at all round. Would love to see more ENB love for those..
"Autumn Skies" and "Northern Saga" were the choices for me , but nightsky+rain are the most importants for me and Autumn literally beaten everyother in those two.
They all have their pros and cons but my choice are: Dolomite (love the slow snowflakes), Mythical Age and Northern Saga. Second choice: NAT, Raid, Wander, Climates and Vivid.
Vivid Weathers all day on Xbox with the classic tone mapping revert. Kugais Stellar Weather has better nights and effects but the clear day setting is unrivalled on VW and it's one of the few mods that improves texture quality so everything blends beautifully. KSW is a close second 🥈
There's a reason Vivid Weathers is so old but still so popular. It looks so good and strikes that perfect balance between fantasy and realism. NAT is a very close second. My only complaint with Vivid is that it tends to rain way too much in certain areas
I'm looking for one suited best with community shaders something with a mark dark theme appearance the game lighting and environment just seems to bright to me and i want it to be more darker especially in some places where i added tree mods and all more of a realistic feel basically
These are beautiful mods yes, but thank you for showing me the beautiful artist Scott Buckley. I couldn't help myself, this whole video I'm like "damn this is amazing music. Who is this?"
There is many to choose from and it’s so hard to decide. I guess I’m going to trial most of them out. In the end I seem to to fall in love with Autumn Skies. Hmm might try it. I like Dawn v2 but it seems to cause more crashes.
In these comparings, I think Cathedral and mythical is best (in my opinion). But I miss a comparing against Solas weather :) I have never seen a comparing against solas weather system. I hope you could add that or make a new one :)
Climates of Tamriel is so extremely good, sadly my favorite ENB preset (Rudy) is incompatible/ not intended to be used with CoT :( But its still a great Video and it the comparison is the best if seen on TH-cam so far, keep it up!
I hope you still reply to comments This may sound like a dumb question but I've just started using NAT and I was wondering,do the weathers activate on their own or do you have to manually activate them with the spell. I only ask because there's an option for random weather and if you have to hit that every time you want weather I don't want that lol
I feel like ive been using Obsidian for like 6 years now but never had a reason to switch, even Jacopo's newest weather Azurite just doesnt look good to me.

Raid weathers was made for RAID as well, by Oliver too. Its the best way to play Skyrim if you want reasonable and believable detection for NPC's.
Stick raid up your butt boy mythical ages far better in every way lol bad taste
Your the only idiot in the comments section that thinks raid is so great
Did the creator of this mod pass away?
Dude, came for the comparison, stayed for the audiovisual masterpiece, amazing work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
pero mira donde me encuentro a zevexor xd
@@Juan-lj1xj jajajaja
I can't even imagine the amount of effort that went into this. Just what I needed thanks
it's funny how the ones I've never heard of in my life are the most appealing to me
Mythical ages is my favorite, Ive done testing of my own with several weather mods but something most people dont show is how the mods affect npcs apereance, and mythical because of how the light bounces over surfaces on that mod the skin of npcs really look like organic texture and not like plastic. for a true to life feel I think aequinoctium is the best just cranc up the contrast by 2 and reduce the brigtness by 2 with the display enhancement mod and you are set for a realistic look for the enviroments.
what's your second choice? Mythical age seems too warmish for me.
Do you have footage or screen shots from your gameplays? I too would love to try Mythical, and a few. Thank you
This video is so helpful and is kind of a masterpiece of art at the same time. I've always been such a big fan of Azurite and never really realized how much blue it gives off compared to some of the others. I struggle with it. Azurite is just so blue

Thanks for doing this, I love these comparison videos. The fog one was interesting - some of the weathers don't actually HAVE any fog beyond ground mist. Vanilla sure looks better than I remembered too.
I think we tend to remember 2011 skyrim when thinking about how vanilla looked
The fog of the «Dolomite Weathers» is perfect!
another wonderfully helpful video! i'd never heard of mythical ages but it has exactly the right look and feel for what i've been wanting.
Mythical was the go to. Now I'll try raid or wander. Maybe even some aequinoctium
I just want to thank you for not only this whole video, but for having the comparisons be 5 seconds apart so I can use the TH-cam skip functions (arrows skip ahead and reverse 5 seconds) to compare shots at the press of a button
indeed, kudos to that !

Great job, finally someone made another complete video mine was a bit outdated and didn't have time to make a new one!
Thank you, glad you liked it :)
I love that this comes up as posted 4 days ago as I literally just spent 4 hours trying to research and try better weather mods...been using dawn for a long time
Great video with a tonne of visual information to digest. Thanks for creating this comparison!
I dont usually have time to mod Skyrim again but watching your videos is so relaxing and lovley, keep up with the great job
One must always make time for skyrim moding
Cot looks kinda the jack of all trades. Id love if this vid had also fps counter somewhere so we can figure wich is the less perf taxing, I believe all look good the best imo is the less demanding. Nice vid!

Great :)

Wonderful comparison, thank you. Definitely getting mythical or maybe dolomite.
Thanks so much for this comparison! It made my decision so much easier
This vid confirms my choice, but so many good considerations. Absolutely a great video going to fave and refer for future mod lists.
Great comparison, it really helped me to choose my favorite, Cathedral Weathers
Wow, kudos for providing such a great service to the Skyrim modding community - there's something for every taste here and we didn't need to download gigabytes of mods and fight through integrating and testing them ourselves!
i'm up for mythical age, this sound very wild !!
Merci de tout cœur car j'avais un mal fou a choisir et votre vidéo m'aide beaucoup ceci dit j'aurais aimé voir les orages et les éclairs aussi !
Great resource, thank you! And thanks for using Scott Buckley's music, he is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
I've used Obsidian + True Storms for so long, but I might just be switching based off of these comparisons. The fog comparison was extremely useful
This is perfect, thank you, made picking out a top 3 a very quick process.
Dolomite is beautiful, my favorite of the samples. It seems to be the most consistently crisp and vibrant, not washed out, dull or hazy. Came for a comparasion, stayed for the Vibes. You got a easy sub my guy
For real dude this vid made me really calm did not expect that lol
Fam you dont even know how much I appreciate this viseo
Thanks for this I was noticing a lot of blues lately it was Azurite Weathers seems like Ill be going back to Obsidian or Cathedral ashame too cause I was enjoying some of its sunny weathers
I was unsure about what mod to use, but I realized vanilla is just superior. Thanks for the video!
I love mythic for it does not make the game feel overly fantasy and it still adds dramatic colorful weathers that are not too bright or dark. And they bring back a similar feel to OG Skyrim weathers.
(the only things I don't like with mythic)
- level of bloom
- the nights
these can be fixed with mods easily.
really was looking for this kind of video! wish the music wasnt so loud though so i could hear the rain ambient sound comparisons better :P

This convinced me of northern saga. Its the most colorful and vibrant while still having an edge to it.
You forgot to add a general look of environments at night
but still awesome vid
Now im using Obsidian with PiCho, but damn - Cathedral is so beautiful and i fkn love it cold, "November morning" vibe
Cathedral Weathers has me in a chokehold. Thank you for this i was about to make the wrong decision.
I've always preferred Obsidian and Mythical Ages, but this time I've chosen Azurite. I really like its more grayish atmosphere. As we know, gray and bluish colors, rainy weather and fog tend to hide the flaws of low-detailed textures and models in games.

I use azurite 2 because it looks amazing and I can actually see at night
The most balances one seems to be Climates of Tamriel for that Vanilla Plus look, they all have their strength though, wonder how they look combined with various ENBs
You spend time and energy to give us your amazing and incredible work. Thank you so much. Subscribed! You deserve it totally!!!👍
Thank you for this, excellent comparison, excellent video... mad props :)
Amazing work. I dont even need to watch full video but i cant just close it :D
Great job!

Cathedral Weathers and Seasons!?
Really thank you for this comparison it really helped and I definitely didn't forget it was a comparison video halfway cuz of how visually beautiful the video was!
A couple good ones. Still love Vivid weathers.
Honestly the snowstorm and the aurora of the obsidian is why its a winner because it captures the beauty of skyrim
Is it Azurite II ? Thx for the vid, always useful ! and a bit relaxing too :)
Obsidian weather and season + True Storm is my Go to but i might go to mythical ages next gameplay
Wander is the best overall. If it had heavier rain and an aurora like mythical ages it would be perfect.
wow this helped me a ton thank you
In my personal opinion, what weather mod may suit you most depends greatly on whether or not you use an ENB. Found my beloved in Climate of Tamriel, thanks you !
For superb clarity in Skyrim VR use Vivid Weather's and The Sharper Eye mod.
Nice! Hmmm. Tested Obsidian and cathedral. I think nat, Scandinavian and haze looked good as well overall.
thank you , my guy. you are a lifesaver
Dolomite has always had that cinematic look even without an ENB, and Northern Saga was just pleasant to look at all round. Would love to see more ENB love for those..

@@imlookingformyhome6025 alright thank you
Im guessing you have something to do with art, because this video is like watching an artshow. Very nice. Also very great song choice for the video.
This is helpful. Thank you!
Which water mod had you used in this video? Looks amazing!
Amazing video and very helpull too!
Thanks so much!
I’ve tried most of these but I’m sticking with Dolomite. It’s my favorite.
Are you going to do a landscape parallax comparison? thanks
Why not :)
I like Dolomite, Climates of Tamriel and Mythical best
Vivid in a nutshell= "you wanna look at orange the whole time even when the sun aint out? I got you covered"
Add the handshake 🤝 classic tone mapping revert for a much more realistic look!
These are beautiful mods yes, but thank you for showing me the beautiful artist Scott Buckley. I couldn't help myself, this whole video I'm like "damn this is amazing music. Who is this?"
Both snow and rain looks awesome in vivid. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get only the snow and the rain from it? (I’m using Azurite)
Did you use any graphical mods like lighting? I'm currently using Mythical Ages and it doesn't look like yours, maybe because of LUX?
There is many to choose from and it’s so hard to decide. I guess I’m going to trial most of them out. In the end I seem to to fall in love with Autumn Skies. Hmm might try it. I like Dawn v2 but it seems to cause more crashes.
OMG I CANT DECIDE! IVE WATCHED THIS VIDEO 6 TIMES AND I STILL CANT BLOODY DECIDE!
this video was great you have earned my subscription :]
In these comparings, I think Cathedral and mythical is best (in my opinion). But I miss a comparing against Solas weather :) I have never seen a comparing against solas weather system. I hope you could add that or make a new one :)
Im sold on autumn skies
Mythical ages, wow. That is incredible without an ENB. I am going to try it and pair it with an enb tomorrow!!
There’s an ENB meant to go with it simply called “Mythical ENB”. It’s nice if you like a very fantastical look to your game.
Would love it if someone could add the blue hues of Cathedral to Aequinoctium's greens and yellows. That would be perfect... for me.
Climates of Tamriel is so extremely good, sadly my favorite ENB preset (Rudy) is incompatible/ not intended to be used with CoT :(
But its still a great Video and it the comparison is the best if seen on TH-cam so far, keep it up!
I need to test dolomite, azurite, and wander when I get home
why is the sound so hypnotizing
I hope you still reply to comments
This may sound like a dumb question but I've just started using NAT and I was wondering,do the weathers activate on their own or do you have to manually activate them with the spell. I only ask because there's an option for random weather and if you have to hit that every time you want weather I don't want that lol
I guess cathedral wins. I'm going to jump into Skyrim soon
oh my dog! that thumbnail tho💀
Thank you for making this
My pleasure :)
I feel like ive been using Obsidian for like 6 years now but never had a reason to switch, even Jacopo's newest weather Azurite just doesnt look good to me.
Did you use azurite weathers 2 or 1?
Same question here. That's my favorite and I'm not sure which one I should download. Help us, please.
Anyway thank you for such amazin work! ;)
I didn't realise Cathedral Weathers was so blue
Great video 🤘
