    I had to replace the gasket on the outside sealing cover of the vvti cam gear. it has a copper outside and rubber inside. it started leaking after I did the cam and front gaskets/timing belt. the vvti cam gets high oil pressure between the 14mm allen which has the hollow bolt. if i remember correctly. I got my kit from power dynamix. I did the vvti gasket also just in case it would start leaking. don't want you to mess up a clean engine bay.

    Awesome job another thing I would have changed would have been the crank pulley, and replace the oil pump. Two common issues with the jdm 2j's

      @@KalvinMalli yeah the jdm one do have failure issues even though some places will say they are the same but they are in fact diffrent. this was told to me by a reputable shop. I went ahead and bought the modded oil pump which is only a couple dollars more then the oem. so for a piece of mind ya mine as well get it, same with crank pully, i would upgrade that to the ati super damper.

    Quick question about this video and the last one: how do you re-time the actual cams themselves? You took the gears off for this and took the cams out for the valve seals so how do you realign the cams with the cam gears like they were before?

    • @Matt_Lanzer_13
      @Matt_Lanzer_13 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      lyle tennant a lot. Assuming there isn’t already a kit to mount it in the car, you’re gonna need a bunch of custom fabrication. That’s expensive. Then wiring and the motor itself is almost 3 grand, then a transmission for like another grand or two depending on which you choose, and probably close to another grand in miscellaneous parts and vacuum lines and hoses and stuff, and then maintenance is probably another 500 or so
