    Oh yeah, lovely sounding out of the box even. Your largest floor tom sounds like a timpani, how cool is that!! Love it!! Very happy for you fellow drummer!

    That sure is a pretty kit. I would go with two fewer toms. I tend to use even sizes; 6, 8, 10 and so on down to 18. Thanks for sharing!

    I always played a huge kit like this back in the day. A few years ago I switched to a 2 up 2 down setup, classic rock sizes and I couldn't be happier. Easy to mic up and mix and make videos. Less is more now a days for me, but back in the day having a bug kit was the way to go. Good luck, very nice kit.

      awesome. For me...more is more. I love all the tonal opportunites. That is also why I have a variety of Zildjian cymbals. K's, A's, A Custom. :)

    Beautiful set but have you ever considered less angle on your toms? I know personal preference but you'll get better stick performance. Force of the stick will be midpoint not at the almost top. You might see less dings in the heads too.

    The four biggest toms all sound like timpani drums. If you have a pair of staccato timpani mallets, try using them and you'll be shocked at the result. I did this for a funeral recently, and a drummer I know who couldn't see my set-up (because I was in the choir loft) thought I had an actual timpani in my set up.

    Hey good for you man! Beautiful kit. Nice to see some real drums not the toys they put out now. Also it’s nice to see your setup. Plenty of sheep out there with the one up two down and flat toms. The people telling you how you should set up YOUR KIT are fools and obviously not real drummers pay no mind.

    • @ks7507
      @ks7507  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Yeah, there are a lot of self-arbiters of drumming. They always tell you (me) I have setup my kit wrong. The truth is, if the setup works for you, then that’s all that matters. I did greatly re-adjust my kit after this video. I was just in a hurry to set it up and play something. It’s definitely a bit more streamlined now.

    • @MadCritter
      @MadCritter ปีที่แล้ว +2

      “Obviously not real drummers”?????? How would someone who’s not a drummer know how to set up a kit, well or poorly? Sheep??? Everyone has their toms low and flat because that makes the the most ergonomic sense. You’re not better than everyone else for thinking this is a well set up kit, you’re just part of a stubborn minority. Big drums offer no benefit other than looking cool.
