You didn't mention that every character reaches 5* eventually, so the initial rarity does not really matter as you progress into the game.Looking into Tier Lists, you can even see that a lot of the best units are 1* characters or starters.
Definately interesting game! I won't check it out but hope you get lucky for the banner!

I rerolled for the whole day, it tooks me the whole day to finally get ssr unit. And just stop there lol, even though it's not hubbles
