I am a PLATINUM member on Princess Cruise lines and I have yet to have any kind of bad experience on Princess from the food to the service it is always an amazing time and the staff cant do enough for you, remember nothing is perfect sometimes things can and will go wrong, we will always sail on Princess.
My wife and I were on the same transatlantic cruise on Regal Princess. We have been on some 70 cruises on many cruise lines but this was our first on Princess. It was our worst cruise experience. We hated nearly everything, cabin design, ship design, food, entertainment, most crew interactions, medallions that didn't work, pervasive noise, overcrowding and lack of quiet spaces. The Internet was fast, but then I have that at home! We received a substantial FCC but I can't bring myself to consider another cruise with Princess.
Yeah, I am so surprised by all the positive reviews about Princess. This must be the exception to the rule. Hoping for better experiences on a future Princess cruise.
Last fall (Oct. 5 -26), I actually did the repositioning cruise across the Atlantic from Southampton to Galveston. In Galveston, the Regal Princess developed the well-publicized issues and your original cruise and two subsequent ones were cancelled. It was also my first Princess cruise and I loved every minute of it.
We were on the Coral last year, boat was 18hrs leaving the port allegedly due to a storm delaying docking, then had to wait for bunkering. Crew were great and helpful but whole boat was tired and worn lots of rusty areas interiors worn and looking tired. On the Crown later this year hopefully be better cruise
Hopefully so. Once underway the Regal was great. Although while on the ship, they said it was just running with 3 of the 4 engines, so it will need to go into drydock for a few weeks in 18 months or so. I guess maybe these things are why people prefer the newer ships.
Update: Looks like the Regal Princess will be going into dry dock earlier than anticipated. They said it would be in about 18 months, but this is now happening in April of 2025. When we were on board in December of 2024, they said the ship was running on just three of the four engines.
A BIG TIP….Arrive at the terminal by 9 am be in the 1st groups inside the terminal & board the ship early. Was there a dress code for formal night & if so was it enforced? I’m curious as to why you decided to not get off in 2 of your port stops? Thanks for a great video & enjoy your next cruise. I’ve gotten 43 cruises on Princess.
The other cruises I've been on have a scheduled check in time. I wonder why Princess does not do this. Formal night was not enforced. We saw t-shirts and shorts. As for ports, we have been to all of these ports a few times before. The weather was rainy at Roatan and my husband didn't feel great on the Cozumel day. Thanks for your comment and questions!
@@DudleyDoesntGetToGo They use to have a check-in time but it was never enforced. Think about arriving before the terminal is opened & you’ll avoid a long line. In my last cruise from San Francisco when I arrived at the terminal there was about 10 people ahead of me & when the terminal was about to open there was already a long line behind me. After check-in I was one of the 1st persons to board the ship. It was a great feeling to see an almost empty ship & to be able to go around & photograph the various places on the ship with nobody in my photos.
It’s interesting how everyone has a different experience. We were there probably a week before or after you. It was a Christmas cruise but slightly different itinerary. I overall enjoyed the cruise. Hated the food, both in the buffet and in the dining room. The staff was wonderful, entertainment good; RC does it better. But for me the food was a disappointment and I lost weight on the cruise. A year earlier, I was on the Caribbean Princess and the food was very good. In Sept I was on a Celebrity cruise and the food was excellent! So, I guess if you are a foodie, this may not be up your alley, but if you can eat anything, I guess?? Oh I am sorry, I can’t even pretend, it was bad.
I love to eat, but would not say I am a foodie. I liked the food very much. My husband is the opposite of a foodie and he would have preferred a steak on the menu each night, so he did not care for the food. You are so right in saying that experience can really vary. Two people can experience the exact same thing and come out with opposite opinions.
@cruisecrazy7066 Thank you! Yes, I didn't realize the background music I chose increased and decreased in volume. Thanks again, I will listen for that in the future.
The background music made it impossible to hear anything you were saying! Reading the transcript was the only way to understand what was said. I think you could drop the whole music and it would be better and more enjoyable.
@arthriticoldman That's a good suggestion. My earlier videos did not have background music, then someone suggested I add it. Hopefully, I will find the right combination. Thank you so much for your comment!

@jimtewa8096 Thanks! We really did enjoy our cruise once we finally got started. I hope our trip on October on the Ruby Princess goes well. 😃🏝⚓️🛳
How can you tell a Platinum member on Princess from everyone else?? Wait 5 seconds and they will work it into any conversation!! 😂😂
@ryanm4013 I can't wait to get there so I can brag, too!😃
@DudleyDoesntGetToGo I'm not bragging and it's easy to get there.
Sorry to hear that it didn't fully go to plan with this cruise. Personally, I've really enjoyed my Princess cruises, and would go again easily!
Nice. I may try Princess.

I have been on the Regal and Ruby Princess Ships, and no complaints. Thanks for sharing.

I sailed on Regal in February of 2024 and I was in an interior that looked just like this one... I had a great time

@@DudleyDoesntGetToGo Majestic Princess is also coming to Galveston
