I’m 37 and went in my first cruise ever on the Sky Princess. We went a week before Christmas and it was at full capacity! It was one of the best cruises ever that we booked our next cruise on the Sun for next year. I’m 37 and I loved it!! After the Sun, will do the Regal Princess in July. Can’t wait!!
My wife and I have never been on a cruise, never really been our thing, but as of Jan next year, we are probably going to switch it up bit and make it our thing for something different. We are going to hit up Regal Princess for a basic 7 day western Caribbean cruise out of Galveston TX, hitting three ports, 2 in Mexico and 1 in Roatan Honduras. For right now though, and leading up to the cruise, I am doing my due diligence research on everything so we're not spending our whole cruise trying to figure things out as we go. You're video was extremely helpful to me, I watched all 42 minutes through and through as I followed along on an interactive PDF map on my phone, that breaks down the different deck levels. I am looking forward to seeing more of your vids and learning more about the medallion device you briefly mention here. Thanks again Bill for sharing this, it was clear, concise and right on point!
I'm here for the same reason... and maybe on the same cruise as you. First timer here also, going with a buddy who has done the cruise thing many times. Enjoy the sail.
Thank you so much for the kind words and our apologies on the tardy reply. We just got off the Regal Princess again for the British Isles. Still an amazing ship and we are working on more videos. Thanks
Thanks for this great video. My wife and I are looking at doing a 10 day cruise out of Galveston in December, and your tour gave us some great information about the ship.
Thank you for the kind words! We try and just provide info without a lot of fluff. Make sure you are subscribed, we will be posting videos about our British Isles cruise in September.
We're Elite travellers on Princess and find this the most thorough and balanced video available...for anyone considering Princess for a first cruise this gives a very objective assessment of pluses and minuses. And btw we're on the September Regal sailing out of Southampton so hopefully will be able to say "hello"
I enjoy watching your videos. I just came back from a 7 day cruise on the Caribbean Princess. Your video for that was very helpful to me. You were on point about everything, even the little smell near the spa area. I’m thinking about traveling on the Regal Princess after viewing your video. Thanks for the amazing tour. Blessings to you and your beautiful wife Angela. Safe travels
Thank you for this video, very informative. We're planning a Regal Princess Cruise to the British Isles in June or August (I need to convince my husband to go in August as he prefers June - your suggestion would be most welcome). We've been on the Princess before, the Sun Princess around New Zealand in 2015 and the Diamond Princess in Japan in 2018. Thoroughly enjoyed both, we've also cruised with Celebrity in the Mediterranean and Pride of America around Hawaii. The Regal Princess is a ship we're looking forward to being on, it looks luxurious without being too over the top. Thanks again for your very informative video.
I just booked a cruise this morning on the Regal Princess for next fall out of Galveston. We just came off a cruise on the MSC Meraviglia and it might be our last MSC cruise. I have cruised on the Grand Princess for an Alaska cruise, and it was a great experience. That cruise was my husband's last cruise before he passed away. He was wheelchair bound as he had had a stroke and I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it but I enjoyed it. So, looking forward to this cruise. It will be our first cruise out of Texas..
My deepest condolences on your husband. You will love the Regal Princess It’s probably our favorite ship. I hope these videos are helping plan for the cruise! Thanks for watching.
This was a GREAT review. We are planning our 7th extended family cruise for late 2024 only considering Carnival and Royal. But I will be suggesting we include Princess. Regal is a beautiful ship and seems to offer what we all enjoy about cruising but a little more polished. Whether we book for the family or just my wife and I, a Princess cruise is in my future. Thanks for sharing this with me.
Thank you very much. I would say Princess falls somewhere in the middle of Holland Americas classic crusing style and celebrity’s more updated and elegant style!
I truly enjoyed your video. It was very informative, with all the details I like to hear about all the areas of the ship. I also hate when I get off the ship and say... "I didn't know that they had (ie: pulled pork sandwiches) something that we missed & would have liked to experience! 🙂LOL Thank you for this video!!
I see I am like a year late for commnets here ;-) - just searching now as our travel agent booked us a 12 night British Isles cruise for next June (2025) - never been on a Princess cruise - been on 4 Norwegian cruises - which were ALL outstanding - but very good video to get a liitle look at the Regal Princess we will be on -usually stick with one thing ( or cruise line ) once I start-- but our travel agent recommended this one for the places it goes as she has been on them before - so ya a yr. later thanks for the video ;-)
We are Loyal to Royal, but Princess is quickly becoming our other favorite line. We sailed on Ruby last year and loved it!! We have this one lined up later this year. This was an awesome look at this ship! Hey...some folks just need their Pringles. I think the same as you, but I'm a live and let live kinda guy...LOL!!
We are sailing on the Regal Princess in two weeks for our 50th anniversary- delayed two years by COVID. Thanks for whetting our appetite with your review.
Thank you so much for this video! I just subbed to your channel. I have an upcoming cruise on the Regal Princess and am excited to experience all the ship offers. Hope you have a beautiful day! :-D
We really appreciated the hand washing stations outside the buffet. So much easier than using the restroom. I wish restaurants would do the same thing.
@@ftbeat In Australia a class action lawsuit relating to a norovirus passenger outbreak onboard the Sun Princess in December 2016 is still playing out in Australian courts.
Thank you for all this helpful information. Sailing on Regal Princess out of Galveston next month. I have already reserved a table for the first four nights, but that pulled pork is on my list, too, as well as Alfredo’s pizza, probably for lunch on embarkation day. We did a Virgin Voyages cruise last June on the Scarlet Lady (all-inclusive, no kids, phenomenal dining!), and we did pizza for lunch on the first day of that cruise, too. This Princess cruise will cost me more than the VV cruise did, and I am looking forward to comparing the two experiences.
Video was very informative and I like your voice, Bill. Well done. We're thinking of booking a cruise January 2024. This helps with the decision. Regards.
Thanks for the tour. We are in the process of booking the British Isles cruise for next year. I am anxious to hear about your experiences on that cruise. We are conditt be Ring Of Kerry Cruisetour prior to the cruise.
I’m currently standing on the beach at New Brighton watching this ship sail out from Liverpool port. I used the vessel finder app to track it and then went on TH-cam to see what it was like inside 🤭
Thanks for this video. I’m sailing on the Regal Princess in March, only my second cruise ever and first on Princess. Thanks as well for the dinner tip. I immediately booked dinner for the first night. Overall it really gives a great perspective on what to expect. 👋🇨🇦
Doing the 12 day British Isles next July. We're not sure if we're doing an upgraded balcony or a suite. And if you choose to let them pick your room, do you get something decent or are you better off picking your room to start with?
We prefer to pick our room if available. It’s important to book early. We just did a suite on the Sun Princess and it was amazing (videos will be up soon).
Great video! We took our first cruise last year on Harmony of the Seas. We had a great time, but the one big drawback was the incredibly loud MC yelling / shrieking non-stop on the pool deck. Because of that we did not go to the pool a single time. What is the music/noise scene at the Regal Princess pools?
i am a diamond plus member of royal who will be taking my first princess cruise (in over 25 years) on the trasatlantic in april. i found your video both interesting and informative and am really looking forward to a great princess experiece
I have watched this video over 10 times😄😄😄 Will be on Regal in November. Looking forward to your September Regal videos. Please share how new embarkation and how the new packages are working. Thank you⚓⚓⚓
We like Celebrity as well. Both lines are trending younger. Princess is definitely the classic cruising experience where Celebrity is more contemporary.
Thanks Bill and Angela on your Regal Princess dhop tour. I will be on the British isles cruise on 3 - 15 May 2024. Can you please advise what is the best way to get to Southampton from London. We will be staying near Waterloo Station. Thanks in advance
Thank you for the kind words. Look into Princess transfers. You can taxi or Uber to the station to get the bus. Thants what we did. Thanks for watching!
Bill, very well done! You mentioned reserving a table for dinner the first day of the cruise, can you explain what you meant by that? Does it matter if you upscale a dinner or two during the cruise? Can you reserve a table for the duration if you’re sitting just with you and your wife? Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words! On our last cruise we reserved a dining time. We really liked our waiter so we asked the Maitre D to assign us the same table at the same time each night. And it was just the 2 of us. We had specialty dining a couple nights and also did Alfredo’s. They will hold your table about 15 minutes but we let our waiter or the staff know if our plans changed for an evening as a courtesy. We are back on the Emerald Princess this weekend so hopefully it’s the same. We will let you know in our review of the ship. Thanks again.
Thanks for the kind words. We are back onboard now. We do have the premium package. New item is specialty cakes available at international cafe and specialty deserts available at Gelato also on 5. I have clients onboard your transatlantic. Enjoy!
@@ftbeat I look forward to Your New Videos, about the Regal Princess and the Dessert Package, I have it from the Travel Agency, I would not have gotten on My Own because though I like Desserts, I like Food Food Better, the Reviews on the Long Lines for the Desserts was not good but most were 6-7 months ago so hoping it has gotten better for both Staff and Passengers
Thanks for the tour. Hopefully we can book before it leaves Galveston. Do they allow you to bring back a soda on to the ship that you purchased when you were off the boat at a port? The Allure didn’t allow us back in 2016. Just curious.
@@ftbeat Thank you. I just wanted to get one or two. I usually buy a soda package but considered skipping it and just get a couple when I’m off the ship.
Many thanks for the detailed vid and review. My husband and I will be sailing with Regal in Dec for 10 day. Are you aware whether they have a variety of gluten free options?
We go on this with two kids in Feb. What's your opinion on the Amazon wrist bands for the Medallions? The free lanyards don't look comfortable or practical especially for kids. Your thoughts are appreciated?
A couple of questions: Does the ship smell? I know that may be a weird question but on the carnival we got done pretty weird smells. Also are the eating areas hot. On the carnival vista the lido deck with the Buffett was always packed & if you sat on the ends it was soooo humid & hot. It may have been the location, but it was really miserable to eat there so we mostly always ate at the main dining room. We really didn’t enjoy most of the food on the Carnival cruise. We’ve only been on a Norwegian Hawaii cruise & a carnival western Caribbean cruise. We remember liking Norwegian but were not very impressed with carnival.
No smells at all. We are onboard now. It’s unusually hot in the British Isles right now but dining areas are comfortable and the food has been fantastic! You will love Princess. It’s a huge step up.
Bill, really enjoyed the tour. Thank you. Liked and subscribed. Question for you… my family is doing a Princess cruise as a reunion. We have a tradition of playing poker. In your opinion and based on your experience, do you think it would be possible that we could usurp a table for 6-7 people and play a poker game (with chips / no cash) for a few hours?
I dont see any issue with that. Plenty of quieter areas on the ship. I see people playing cards all the time. I would make sure no cash is visible whatsoever though.
My family was on this cruise, too! What an awesome way to ring in 2023. You can partially blame my daughters, 21, 18, and 14 year old twins for taking advantage of the WiFi! 😆 It was so nice to look back on footage of this incredible vacation that we were able to enjoy with my dad, stepmom, and brother. My husband and I were able to enjoy time off work, surrounded with our family & loads of happy folks. Thank you for sharing, and happy cruising in the future.
It was one of our favorite cruises made better by so many nice fellow passengers. Lol on your daughters using up all the bandwidth! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, we are back on her in September and I’ll be posting more so please subscribe if you like!
Great video !!! have you done the 14 day Europe- Trans-Atlantic Cruise ? We are looking at booking that trip April of 2025 and then the Cunard trip back to NY...any input would be great :-)
Your videos have been so helpful while i’ve been looking into booking with Princess. My husband and I have both cruised with Carnival but are looking at Princess because we can use our credit card points 🤣 I am a little weary we will be the only younger couple and may not enjoy the atmosphere (we are in our 20’s). What are your thoughts?
Thanks for the kind words. I am glad they are helpful. Princess is very different then Carnival. Definitely not as much of a full on party atmosphere. It’s more upscale and refined. That said, there are more and more younger couples on Princess these days and there is plenty to do for all. We have 2 more Princess cruises this year so I will comment more after I do those videos.
We are going on the 12 day British Isles tour in September 2024. We had heard that there was a thermal spa on board that you had to pre-book and pay additional for. Is that true? thank you.
Yes. There may be one side roped off but generally the other side will be open. I’ll say this. They’re a ton of places on the ship to sit and relax, read or do whatever you like.
@ftbeat Thanks! The reason I'm asking is because we like to bring modern board games when cruising, and typically the buffet area has tables of the right size and height, and you can sit by a window.
I go on a cruise leaving from London and I am currently 19 we stay in Europe the whole time and was wondering if I am eligible to drink and or buy alcohol at ports to ship back to the US. Thanks
Good news for you. Drinking age on Princess cruises out of Europe is 18. Generally you cannot bring alcohol into the ship other than a bottle of wine in most cases.
Not Austin.... The real Texas - College Station, Texas. We are cruising on Princess 12/1. We took a Carnival out of Galveston awhile ago. We decided it was like taking a cruise on Golden Corral - never again. We are 55 and we're searching for more of an upscale cruise.
@@KerryGarner-rp4lx I completely agree. Carnival is great for young people on a budget, it’s not for us anymore. Have a great cruise and thanks for watching!
I just heard the news today, Princess has canceled the pizza and International cafe from the price unless you buy the delux or premium package. A lot of ppl complained the changes after they book the tours. We will be affected for the changes because our sail date is upcoming in Septemeber. @@ftbeat
International Cafe pastries and desserts are included; I believe there is a charge for coffee there. I think you can buy a punch card which earns you a free drink after a certain number of purchases.
There is no specific venue but they did have various entertainers playing in the Grand Piazza Atrium and people were Ballroom Dancing. I assume this would vary by ship and itinerary. Thanks for watching!
I’m not sure for this one specifically but most cruises put them out just before or after Thanksgiving so it should be decorated. And it looked amazing! Thanks for watching!!
When you were passing by the ping pong table did you notice if the paddles & balls were somewhere there to use or do you have to go to a kiosk or see someone to use them?
Thanks for the review, l would like to know where the cruise was? Most of passengers are in shorts. We sail in jule in the British isles We think it will be cold. Sort by weather, please
It was to Aruba and Curacao last New Years Eve. I though I mentioned that in the video. Obviously the weather is different. We are going on the British Isles cruise on her in September and not bringing shorts lol!
@@ftbeatWell that is great news. I took my wife on a cruise last year, but we somewhat cheaped out and I wanted to really spoil her this time. You made mention of the medallion not working as expecting. I was thinking the free room service and delivery options for drinks and stuff would really pamper her well. Did this not work as intended or was it much better on your September cruise?
I found your video extremely helpful and informative. I was just hoping to clarify one thing. When we have cruised in the past, we greatly enjoy taking extensive walks around the promenade several times a day. It almost appears on the Regal Princess as if that is not possible, as if the ship is a bit more cut up and it would only be possible to walk part way around any of the decks, instead of multiple trips right around? It is a small thing for most people I think, but we love to take those lengthy walks and would probably find it quite annoying to have to go up and down between decks or to not be able to go right around.
It’s not a small thing. The proper promenade deck immediately defines the class of the ship. Unfortunately the ship has been designed by bean counters. There is no promenade deck, no forward observation deck (now occupied by suites), no observation lounge. On the positive side, there is a dedicated jogging track on the ship.
I´ll be on Regal Princess on Feb 19th. My question is, the food at the restaurants at the islands we will visit it´s included if I purchase de Premier Plus package? Best regards and thank you for this great video
Thanks for watching. Food on the islands is not included with the exception of private islands like Princess Cays in some cases. The Premier Plus gives you 2 nights of specialty restaurants on board (steakhouse, Italian)
Princess is now the best millennial cruise line. The changes to the princess plus program is pushing older cruisers out and bringing in the people who are done with carnival and royal
I’m not sure about millennials. It’s still a little older clientele. But it is getting younger and with the add ons, a great value. It’s definitely a great alternative to Celebrity.

Def an old people cruise it’s obvious as you filmed and showed passengers . Just like Holland. Celebrity is my fav line.
Thanks for your reply. Do you think the train to Southampton would be a good option as well?
Great video! Would love to know about the rooms.
There are tours of two cabins on our channel!
Do you have a video of the Regal Princess staterooms and suites?
Yes. There are a couple on our TH-cam channel.
1st time on Princess in March; do you get to choose what time you want to board? How soon is that available?
I enjoyed Your Video, I am doing a 15 day Transatlantic from Southampton in October so I liked Your review, did You'll have the Dessert Package
Thank you for the kind words. If it is a couple of cans or bottles, we have never had an issue. Not sure about bringing it back in bulk.
@@ftbeat thank you!
Enjoyed this video very much. I am curious why cabin accommodations are not addressed.
Thank you. There are 2 other videos on our channel that give full stateroom tours. Check them out.
My family was on this cruise, too! What an awesome way to ring in 2023. You can partially blame my daughters, 21, 18, and 14 year old twins for taking advantage of the WiFi! 😆
It was so nice to look back on footage of this incredible vacation that we were able to enjoy with my dad, stepmom, and brother.
My DH and I were on Regal 12/18-26 and had a wonderful time! Loved, loved all the holiday decor.
Was this the cruise that departed on December 26, 2022? If so, I was on that cruise.
Yes it was. We had an amazing time!!!
really enjoyed your video, very informative. Are there plenty of smoking areas outside?
Thank you for the kind words. I believe there is a smoking area on the pool deck.
17th floor. big area w/ lots of seats.
Thank you
We are going on the 12 day British Isles tour in September 2024. We had heard that there was a thermal spa on board that you had to pre-book and pay additional for. Is that true? thank you.
Was there a coffee place by the pool?
I don’t believe there is on the Regal Princess other than walking into the Buffet.
Can you please provide more details on the optional drink packages and whats included with the standard fare? thanks
Is the buffet area open to sit in even when food in the buffet itself is not being served?
We will be cruising for the first time on Princess to British Isles in Sept 2025. Quick question do they have Coke products 😂
Great video thanks for sharing. Is there an outdoor smoking area on the regal?
I go on a cruise leaving from London and I am currently 19 we stay in Europe the whole time and was wondering if I am eligible to drink and or buy alcohol at ports to ship back to the US. Thanks
Good news for you. Drinking age on Princess cruises out of Europe is 18. Generally you cannot bring alcohol into the ship other than a bottle of wine in most cases.
what is cwaffi? I'm from Texas and not familiar with that word.
Lol! Are you from Texas or Austin lol.
Is international cafe included in the price? I will be in the Princess line in September for England.
It is included and 24 hours. Which sail date? We are on the September 5 Regal Princess.
Incorrect. International Cafe is included. As is the Pizza on the lido deck.
Correct!
Thank you! Was wondering if there is any place for ballroom dancing?
There is no specific venue but they did have various entertainers playing in the Grand Piazza Atrium and people were Ballroom Dancing. I assume this would vary by ship and itinerary. Thanks for watching!
When does princess put out Christmas decorations? Would regal's cruise on November 26 to Dec 3rd have decorations? Thanks
I'm going on this ship on 1/7...which of the restaurants are free?
Thanks for the review, l would like to know where the cruise was? Most of passengers are in shorts. We sail in jule in the British isles We think it will be cold. Sort by weather, please
It was to Aruba and Curacao last New Years Eve. I though I mentioned that in the video. Obviously the weather is different. We are going on the British Isles cruise on her in September and not bringing shorts lol!
@@ftbeat which date in September? My brother and I are doing the September 29 10 day cruise!
With the unlimited drink package, do you still get some kind of container (i.e. drink bottle, cup) to get refills around the ship? Thanks.
Hi. You do not on Princess. We always travel with a Yeti mug in all our travels to fill up
Did they have starlink wifi at the time you cruised in September? How was it if so?
They did and it was awesome. Almost as fast as home!
Much much better in September. No issues with room service.
@@cruiseadmiral Thank you for your response. We will give this some thought before booking.
Correct. Many of the newer ships eliminate these classic ship features.
@@ftbeat Thanks for your answer. I´m sure my wife and I gonna enjoy this 7 days cruise! Besides is our birthdays on the week we will be onboard! :)
We’re sailing on the 19th too!
We are sailing on Regal Feb 11-18.
What is the itinerary at this time
She is currently doing Caribbean but will be going over to Northern Europe soon. We will be on her again in September for the British Isles.
Is there a spot to smoke cigars?
There was a cigar bar right outside the theater. I believe it was removed recently though.
@@ftbeat awesome. I didn’t get to that part of the video yet… lol. Great video thanks. It made up our decision to book our first cruise
@22gerty05 awesome. If you are located in the US and don’t already have a travel agent, let me know. Thanks for watching either way.
Are teens or kids allowed in the pool?
Thank you for the Video. We also will be on the Cruise Ship in September going leaving out of Southhampton on the 5th
That’s awesome. Hope to see you onboard. If you see us, say hello!!!
Hi do you have to do covid tests
No Covid tests required for almost all cruises.
We cruise Princess exclusively.
We really enjoy Princess as well. We especially love the variety of things to do and the atmosphere.
I really enjoyed thos video
Thanks. We are glad you did!
Was there pickleball on this cruise?
I’m not sure if there was or not. There is a place for it but we didn’t notice
