    Great advice... I’m trying to instill these into my child early.. he is 9 and has only Just starting his 2nd full season..but at this age it is hard to keep him motivated when he doesn’t get picked for tournament teams because it’s a political.. I just tell him he has to work harder than the kids who’s dads are coaches because they are automatically on the team even though you maybe better.

    Love all of these. With all due respect, maybe consider adding a #11 or #.5. STOP PLAYING ON SOCIAL MEDIA! Too many kids are getting passed up because of their social media nonsense. Yeah, yeah it was just a joke, but when you take just the comment out of context, you’re doomed. Maybe this topic should have it own video with examples. Google Dayton Moore from the Royals about passing on kids just because of social media. There are many other examples you can find as well.

      Can't agree more - I warn my teen about this a lot. It's often not even their own phone, so if you're at a party you should be aware that someone's probably recording you if you do something stupid.

    Dear coach Madden,
    I have practices on Saturdays and doubleheaders on Sundays, but on Sundays my arm is so sore because of the practice the day before, that it hurts and I can't really throw. What should I do? Thanks

    • @swaggysack
      @swaggysack 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're throwing your arm to the point it hurts on a practice when there is a game tomorrow, you should probably talk to your coach about your health. Every coach would rather have you healthy and playing than injured and benched.
      Edit: Just my opinion

    So right now, I’m in 7th grade and baseball is my life, but my grades in school are c’s and b’s, are those good enough for when I get into high school? (I’m getting scouted right now as well)

    • @jolvera97
      @jolvera97 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who's scouting you? Unless you're a beast from a Hot Bed state, I strongly believe you're full of it. No MLB team is going to talk with you, you're a minor. However yes, if you're in 7th grade and 13yrs of age you very well could be given a verbal commitment. With that being said, if you're all that, your family should be making videos. Also unless you're getting called not calling for showcasing or premier tournaments, all you'll be is a highschool player at best. I would tell you the ONE and ONLY thing a scout is looking for but I'm not. That's something your trainer should tell you.

    • @YouGoPro

      A few months before your season start playing catching lightly and build it up slowly over time until your season starts. Also train your body during that time.
