These contraptions do little more then cost you money in the long run. The basic premis is that they create a sleeping platform thats level and create storage space. While one is true (platform) the other simply isnt. They cost you alot of storage space and the platform is more like a coffin when you get raised up halfway to the ceiling. With an inflatable higj quality mattress and some well thought out storage bins organised properly you will get more out of your space. And the argument that things are kept locked away in the car while you sleep is a weak argument too. Simply place the boxes on the roof rack or roof and they will remain equally safe unless you slip into a coma while you sleep. And not that anyone cares...but in Bear country,the less stuff inside your car the better. A mid sized black bear can take your car apart to get to some food. Forget it with brown bears. And yes...i have tried several of these contraptions over the years and built a few too.
Yes if you build something yourself you can do it cheaper because you don’t include labor costs. Many people don’t have the tools, expertise, or time to design and build something like this.

it looks like a nice build but it's 100% better to just remove the seats and make more space (assuming you have somewhere to store them lol)
