3 different showers, 2 different flexible cooking stations, a 3 seater couch, big easy bed, everything relatively cheap, no drilling or cutting in the van, very stealthy. Impressive sir.

Type of dude that goes looking around at Lowe's & such, just for the fun of it. I watch so many of these type vids, I'll be looking at vehicles like yep, someone's hanging in there. Id never suspect all this going on in his van. That's the size of mine. I guess the first only catch is you can't be giraffe size.

What I absolutely love about this is that all the things he created are cheap, available and very easy to manipulate. It's very doable to an ordinary unskilled person but still looks neat.

This is the most beautiful and efficient minivan buildout I’ve seen. Engineers are awesome, what skills. This is inspiring that one can get on the road without the expense of a van.

I knew this would be interesting when I saw the title "Engineer..." and it didn't disappoint! From the ingenious bathroom to the simple dirty clothes hamper to using a fence post for water storage...it's just brilliant!
I've been inspired by minimalist living and watching various videos for about 10-12 years and this is the most inspiring one I've seen yet. I'm selling my car tomorrow to buy a Sienna and I will probably be jacking a lot of this dudes ideas. I LOVE THIS BUILD!!!

I once bought a huge RV used at a good price, and I thought I would travel. Then I realized I didn't want to drive a huge bus on vacation.
Luckily, I sold it at a little profit. This setup, you can actually travel and go anywhere.
The dual features are awesome. The solar panel, the bed with slide out, etc,
I think this level of optimisation, but on a small van with just about enough standing room, would be a perfect place to meet in the middle
Thank you for sharing all your ingenious ideas. With what us happening in the US right now, I may end up living in my sienna van. As a 67 yr old woman, with disabilities, your set up for the shower/bath/kitchen minimizes the amount of space needed for those necessities yet allows ample space for them. I especially love that shower curtain and wooden tub!

One less talked-about fact of the matter, here, is that this gentleman’s brilliance is multi-faceted. Beyond the obvious feats of engineering to achieve comfortability with modern conveniences, he considered it all a possibility, to begin with, when the rest of us ever looked at, or imagined a minivan being a habitable living space and thought, “hale to the naw.” The man is a visionary.
Without question, this is the best built-up I have ever seen, and I have seen tons. I think a lot of seniors consider van living, at least part time, and this truly is a spacious tiny home on wheels. No huge camper or motor home to deal with. Brilliant.

Hey! Three years ago, I thought of a very similar idea for a sit down shower in a minivan camper but never built it. So cool to see someone else thought of the same thing and actually did it!
Building around what you need to store is key. I did the same in my apartment: after decluttering, I measured all the things I needed to store and built storage around them - which meant that all the storage & furniture was perfectly functional and minimalist. It never got messy because every item had a space customized to store/hold it. It makes a huge difference.

Love to see someone doing so much with a minivan. I roadtrip with my special son for a few weeks at a time. We are much safer when traveling in the minivan. No one pays attention to us. When I am in the campervan, I cannot even stop to get gas without people coming up to talk to us about it. Always enjoy the conversation but not the awareness I am traveling alone with my son. Getting ready to take a roadtrip to celebrate turning 300,000miles on the Oddy. Am debating on if I am going to sell the campervan and use towards getting another minivan. Thanks for sharing this design. Was one of the best I have ever seen. 💕

The shower pan, roof rack hot water tank, kitchen drawer and sink are inventive features, so useful.
Love that clothes hamper. I must get one too for my RV. Uses that drivers chair space effectively.
The curtains are makeshift however, and no, the light will leak out. I would suggest getting a ceiling track that runs around the windows and making proper curtains with shirring tape and large drapery hooks. Easy to remove and clean. Use Roclon rubber blackout cloth as a lining so they don't fade or leak light. White is good for blackout color to reflect away the sun.
I would use the same curvy flexible plastic track for shower pan curtain. All curtains should be on tracks so there is no light leakage from large grommets.
I would have made the bed differently the way Eric Loves Earth designed it. His method gives you two bench seats front and back while there is no lengthwise split to fall into. In his design, you can also access the other wall of the car. Eric's way does not block either door so you have an airy feel.
Cat litter is harmful for the environment. May I suggest horse pellets instead? They are compressed sawdust pellets so they take up little room and expand a lot when used. A little goes a long way, and it costs much less from Feed Supply Stores. You can use smell proof bags from Amazon to stash the used #2 bags till you see a publish trash bin.
The power hungry large coffee maker should be swapped out for an insulated steel French Press for two. Keeps coffee warm, no filter, very small. No electric power needed just a gas stove and small kettle.
I would take out the microwave - way too much power for a small car build., and add an electric hot pot. The long countertop is nice but you cannot use it from the bed as a desk. Better to make that a bank of cabinets for clothes storage instead.
This van is way underpowered with 100AH battery for running a microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, electric grill.
There are way too many countertops. These are too far from the bed to use as a desk space, and too close to curtains to use for cooking. Wasted counter space. It looks nice initially, but what do you do with them? Nothing. Not well thought out.
Change the bed shape so in bench mode you have an enormous space in front cabin to live in and work
Build a bank of cabinets instead of that countertop with plastic drawers. This is non functional. Plastic drawers will open and fall out soon as you drive. Very poor design. It should be wall to wall cabinets for clothes, kitchen, etc.
Add a long table with a fold out leg and a sliding lip support on the cabinet side. Now you have an office or table while seated at the bench/bed. Dine, work, space.
Move the sink to the cabinet side.
Leave both sliding doors open for entry.
Buy a decent Lithium battery, not this cheap one. The BMS inside is faulty. Lots of bad reviews on it.
Buy a decent Pure Sine Inverter. This one priced at $189 seems very cheap and bad reviews on it too. If its not Pure Sine like it states, it will damage your electronics. I would use Victron, Samlex, Xantrex as better brands.
These would be my changes.
Install an inward exhaust fan in front end of car to create a higher air pressure inside the van. Then at the opposite end of the car, leave a crack at the backend door. This will create an airflow from front to back. -When your pooping the smell won't fill up the whole car but immediately disperse downward and outward. ü
This is nice. I always tell my friends all I need is a bed, bathroom and kitchen. I love this miniature build.❤

Have watched dozens of videos and this is the most different setup I have ever seen! Have never seen a bathing setup in a minivan or a toilet or a second outdoor shower. Personally a fan of less-is-more but this was very entertaining to watch and I had a lot of fun watching it, thank you!

I think clever people who live inside their cars, vans or tiny homes create such unique spaces. Far more ingenious than brick and morter, expensive and ugly apartments. Hats off. I love it. 🎉
I forgot to mention that. On previous builds I had clothes storage. But I found I always pack my clothes in a backpack and brought into car. I never end up putting clothes in the storage. Just keep pack in front seat when camping.
@@Tiny-Campers, you have missed a really useful storage option for clothes: you have cushions on your bed. Take the cushion out and stuff your clothes in there. 4 cushions were good for 16 nights this summer for two of us. I have two colours, one for clean, one for used.
Have never seen a camper of that size with a bath tub - Brilliant! I love the sink set up and the fact that it swivels. The kitchen that is convertible is a real winner. I love your 'compartment thinking'. Great job!

The more I watch these no build builds, I'm beginning to love the idea of smaller vehicles. Less is definitely more. I love how he builds for what he has in the kitchen drawer and the arm shaped cushion, genius! This is amazing! Nothing without purpose, dual purpose, frugality... All My love language! 😅 It's all so perfect... Except curtains don't make sense... They are floppy and in the way. And the back ones will hang down over the detachable shower curtain on the back door and get wet during a shower 🤔 Please tell me this is the Japanese art of deliberate imperfection 😬🥰
Curtains don't get wet since they hang up. I had reflectix in the past, but wanted quick and easy privacy for this build. I have a few Sienna versions. haha

We're in the same situation! All my life the retirement plan was to just travel and explore the UK, where I live, but it was kinda dependant on me being in good health: that ship has sailed, but I'm going ahead anyway! I've just bought a Bongo that I'm to start converting tomorrow! I hope to film it, but it won't be as elaborate as this lol. I have a very limited budget, but I'm confident I will be able to make a comfortable, good-looking mobile abode for me and my 2 little furry friends.

This has to be the most packed, compact fitout I've ever seen :) Particularly like the way things are fixed in place - until you don't want them to be - then they're mobile (eg - kitchen unit, carry to a bench - genius. Solar panels fixed down - until you need them to tilt in a particular direction, etc)

When I sit on my stool for a shower I am not very visible from the outside. One of the advantages of the garden sprayer is that I can control the output pressure to reduce splashing. My van is a no build one and I can install the middle seats in no time at all. My custom made bed is 25 inches wide by 75 inches long and about 12 inches or so overhangs into the seat well area. To have more space available the last twelve inches of the bed is hinged with foldable hinges. This is the only "set up" that I have to perform to take a shower. I avoid using the shower area as storage and this is only possible as I travel alone and most of what I need is stored under the bed. I do like that portable battery operated sprayer . Prior to camping I did a few dry runs at home and I found that I needed just about 1/2-3/4 gals of water to shower and that includes washing my low cut hair!!
This is what I need as a single man trying to save money in the U.S.
My favorite build so far. Going to buy the cooler, futon bed and add the side table, battery to start.
I covered the entire rear seat well area of my 06 Sienna with Oatey grey color shower pan liner from Home Depot. But before I did I graded the floor area with cardboard towards an existing circular capped area under the carpet. This hole accepted a regular sink drain which I plugged with cork form a wine bottle when I am not showering. I sit on a foldable stool like yours and use a 1 gallon sprayer to take showers. I am a small adult and this works well for me.
Hands down this is the best, most efficient conversion ever! Practical yet full of luxuries at the same time. An incredible job 👍🏻👏🏻
