I've been producing almost 8 years now, and just now, finally, starting to realize what was the culprit of my mixes for them not to be finished and released. It's mid/side ratio. I've always tried to bring big guitars, making them beefy and big, raising EQ about 360 mhz, that suddenly masking pretty much everything, not even realizing, it's all about side information, making guitars wider that gives that lift...
It's worth mentioning that MSED is free, and that you can mute the side or the middle, or adjust the gain of both separately. So you can send an element to a track with MSED on it, and use any plugins you like to use on only the mid or the side. I used it straight on the tracks to add more guitar, and bring the cymbals up, without it getting in the way of the rest of the mix, by turning down the mid gain and turning up the side gain. It's definitely worth grabbing if you want to experiment with Mid Side processing, then whether the effects plugins support mid side becomes irrelevant.

That JST EQ looks pretty versatile, the way you can boost and cut two different bands using one instance of the plugin. I'm curious though, how many sounds/instruments can be assigned to one band? You mentioned using one for mids and the other for sides. Sorry for the wordy question and thanks for the amazing tutorials!

Try pushing up the EQ around 6k. CLA does it and it can work depending on your material.

Calibrate your input with optimize feature. That sets the input into the plugin for optimal results.

You would simply put the eq plugin on multiple tracks.
