Richard Mille - what about absolutely terrible value for money? Plastic time-only watches for $200K lol. You have to knock them down for that.. no other S tier has such terrible offerings on your list. Also, Hublot you say value for money, but $10K watches for quality and movement that is inferior to dozens of C tiers on your list... doesn't make sense
We can disagree on Richard Mille, that's fine. Their watches are no doubt spectacular in my opinion so we'll never see eye to eye there. As for Hublot I should have clarified their high end movements and movement technology is what I'm talking about. Ok at the entry level they may not be great but you can say that for a lot of high end brands that their low end stuff is not great. Just my 2 cents on this and hope you enjoyed regardless 🙏
Richard Mille is the modern Hublot. Time will show.
Richard Mille is just an (extremely) expensive G-Shock.
@@MarcoFerranteWatches Thanks for the reply! Enjoyed the video of course
@@thomasneuenschwander8953 We completely disagree. RM is far more innovative and unique in my opinion. RM is a trend setter, Hublot more of a trend follower
You’re doing this ranking by prices not by movements and looks.
Not really, we all value and perceive brands and watches in different ways. I value ingenuity, finishing, etc. all of which higher end brands tend to focus on hence my list. At the end of the day we will all value different things in watches and not see eye to eye on everything. That is what keeps this hobby fun and interesting. Regardless, hope you enjoyed this 🙏
seems so but maybe not, definitely not rated by value
His goal posts moved on every brand… Nico gave Timex credit for a good year and improving their brand but this guy went based on price.
And he didn’t put tag above a C when it carries a horrible price point for the most part. I’d say it’s pretty much spot on. Unfortunately a lot of the time the best finishing etc means you pay a premium.
@@carlmoulton5719seems like there needs to be a c+ and b+ section. It doesn’t feel right having tag or Tossot with Casio. Same with Breitling / Hublot (I hate them too lol) in the same section as Tudor.
Hublot and value for money wth are you smoking.
On the pre-owned market you can pick up some absolute steals when it comes to high complication Hublot watches
@@MarcoFerranteWatches Why, why, why would anyone pay $8K for a Bing Bang with a Selita movement. 🙄
I have Seiko, Citizen, Casio, and Fossil. My 1978 Seiko Quartz broke after 38 years. That’s not bad. I had it repaired and it’s running fine. The others are all running flawlessly.
I love it to see somebody with common sense and not say Hublot is the worst just because some other influencers are saying it. Thanks for a great and informative video. Long live the wrist watch industry.
Chanel is B tier?! LOL! A fashion watch brand with a small handful of models and $7,000 quartz watches? Try D Tier. This guy has absolutely NO credibility with fine watches. How dare you put Girard Perregaux and Chanel in the same category. Horrible.
Rolex deserves S tier. Rolex is a very important brand in the watch industry, if it wasn’t for Rolex I would’ve never gotten into collecting watches.
really Tag with Casio/Certina/Rado/Hamilton/Oris/MLC/Tissot ????? You need a doctor
Tag heuer is a high C at best. They have positioned themselves to be that. Lots of their stuff are entry level and no great finishing. They have some high end stuff that are great value but their target audience is no longer just the working man like the late 90's and early 2000's or racing enthusiasts. They are also now targeting the urban street wearer and some of their collaboration and price points reflect that. It's not about value for money. Marco is definitely rating based on what qualifies your brand to be haute horology being S and F being stuff like Invicta.
@@KAM128 Tag Heuer history alone for its chronograph is way far more than C class. And Did Ball, Sinn, Hamilton had Tourbillon model? No. Tag Heuer did
@@angusli6288 you can't rate them based on their former history as Heuer. You rate Tag Heuer based on what they are currently doing.
As always the most thoughtful , well researched & eloquent watch channel around , keep MAMACOO coming !
Citizen definitely belongs to S or A because of their top notch innovation and craftsmanship.
Niko on speed..😅 but so much less rage mode. Thanks for showing so many brands nobody else ever had in the ranking.
Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed this! 🙏
Timex should be ranked higher, no one gives better value for money! I also think Tissot should be bumped up simply because of the because of the detail and finishing. I think the bracelet on the PRX is more comfortable and nicely finished than the jubilee on my Datejust ! Great video and a fresh perspective is always interesting. Keep up the good work !
That seems more or less like they are ranked by their average price
You're gonna rank a Honda the same as a rolls royce?
@@choyayahyah you have to account for price right? If you had enough money and common sense and had to choose either a Honda for 15k that is the same car as others that cost 30k or a rolls that is worth max 300k but goes for 600k you should put the honda above right? The craftmenship is world above but at what price that should be the question
@eduard-adrian4778 I disagree. You can't look at a RR and compare it to a Honda in any way, even price per value. Because, with a RR you are not paying for value of what the car does, you are paying for a luxury that cannot be found elsewhere. And in the case of the watches, we are not talking about the gray market pricing which can be either higher or lower. You have to look at AD pricing and same with the cars.
@@choyayahyah well then if you have a mercedes that uses the same materials and is at the exact level of luxury as a rr and the mercedes costs 200k but the rolls costs 600k you can say it is a better price per value right? It is difficult to compare a seiko or citizen with a hublot or an iwc, it is easier to compare with a federique constant and you get a better bang for buck, but the basic way of comparig is seeing the margins that the watches produce right? And the citizen has lower margims than a hublot
Blancpain should be an A, no doubt. And I don't own or plan to own one any time soon.
Totally fair, definitely some personal bias at play there. Regardless, hope you enjoyed this 🙏
The fact that all these ‘watch influencers’ don’t rate Blancpain is exactly why I got one and why I love it so much.
Blancpain, Breitling, Zenith, GP should be in A.
Oris, Rado should be in B.
Chanel probably C.
Bro...what?😂 Breitling should be same as Cartier and Omega. Also, just because watches are cheap doesn't mean they blow or if watches that are expensive they're auto S.
That's a fair analysis regarding Breitling, not sure if I agree but totally fair to have that opinion. Expensive watches don't mean their automatic S tier. I value different things - brand ingenuity, price point/value for money, finishing, etc. - all of which factor into where I personally rank them. Totally a personal preference thing. Regardless, hope you enjoyed this 🙏
😂 You’re kidding, right. So Breitling in your opinion sits one level down from the S players, and in same group as Omega, Rolex, JLC etc!? Not in a million years.
You're tripping - really bad. LOL 🤣
Yeah and Breitling is the number 9 best selling Swiss watch in the world. Tudor's not even in the top 10 Rolex clone
Good to see a ranking video that added some of the lesser known brands. Finally Breguet got an S tier! Glad to see Credor in there too. RGM should have made the A tier IMO. Yeah they're very traditional, but the artisanship is there. Keep the vids coming Marco!
Thanks for the kind words and totally take your feedback in stride. Obviously we all value different things and that's what I think keeps this hobby fun. Glad you enjoyed this and thanks for your support 🙏
Rolex deserve to be A ranked, otherwise neither should Omega. Reliability is ace.... They can build a tourbillon of they want to, they aren't followers of the sheep-herd. I think Montblanc should be lower B, not C.
16:39 Love the justification for Sinn, "Same thing for Sinn"...uh thanks for the explanation 😂
Casio ranking is just nonsensical. We’re talking about time keeping here… or just micromechanics? In any case this tier list is terrible.
God!!! MAMACOO Who would have thought those gorgeous watches go for that low!!!
Expected more from you based on your early videos.
You just re-read the playbook from all the major journos and youtubers.
None of those guys have any credibility as collectors or as experts.
They are paid consultants.
Really not a good list.
Roger Dubuis has no place in the top tier.
Rolex and JLC are above Breguet by a healthy margin.
You should maybe take this video down.
Value for money and Casio is a C ? If they were free could they squeak out a B ? Foolishness.
Zenith needs a name change. That alone would help the brand. Being name associated with cheap electronics in the United States is one of the main reasons people don’t buy.
Zenith should make a TV watch just for giggles.
Your analysis is okay based on what you like personally and not by value. You definitely got the rolex classification wrong likewise others which I am not going to mention. You're indisicive in your classification process.
Well done man. It is hard to rank individual brands that have a big price and quality range. Thanks for the video.
Not bad, but I don't agree with all of this. At least Blancpain should move one step higher
Some personal bias at play there but yes agreed they can and probably should be A tier! Regardless, hope you enjoyed this 🙏
Yeah. Blancpain in the same level.of Doxa ? Wtf
Rexhep is up there with Philippe Dufour and Roger W Smith with their watchmaking and how exclusive they are.
Totally agree, he is definitely in that rarified air of watchmakers who are viewed as the best in the world
Overhyped imo and most "collectors" are just buying bcs of the huge premium
@@beuigi disagree, his pieces are very special in the metal. Cases by Hagmann, impressive movement finishing. Sure there is an early "buy in" as him being the next up but the hype is real
Cartier is A list just on History
Yes I quickly realized in the video putting them B tier is big mistake which is why I switched them to A tier. That's where they belong for sure. Hope you enjoyed this! 🙏
@@MarcoFerranteWatches Yes, always. I've watched your career for a while now. This is a better fit for you, showing your strong side - the knowledge of horology. Your previous stop was giving you more of a street hustler vibe. This is a much more formal, in-office setting. Best of luck, I'll be watching.
@@dmitryfishbeyn1455 Thank you, I sincerely appreciate the kind words and support. It truly does mean a lot to me 🙏
History yes quality wise its a C
I mean if history alone makes a brand "A tier" for you, the same could be said about Seiko, Casio, Hamilton, Bulova, etc. Lol.
Marco, id put Maen in "D" . Its a great micro brand. Have not owned one myself but ive handled a few and they have great watches
The title should: RANKING The EXPENSIVE and CHEAPEST Watch Brands!
Each watch expert that places brands on this ranking system has such different points of view. Now these serve only to confuse the audience who would actually benefit from your advice.
A list based on quality is boring, we all know pretty much where the brands land based on price alone
"Top Independant highly priced not affordable watches for old farts" - tier list. Rename it
Chanel is straight F tier, I would also bump Casio to B Tier and I would drop Hublot to C tier at best. From a horological standpoint, despite what some people think, they have some really cool pieces especially when it comes to material usage. However because of their low value for money with their other models. I would have to place them low C or high D.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I agree with almost all of your rankings, except for Blancpain…but after hearing your reasoning (lack of new models adapted to the present), I must agree.
Great job!
A reasonable assessment and very informative. Well done.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed this 🙏
Why judge a brand if you can't judge a brand. Don't include it instead of giving it an F tier below Invicta. Maen should be a c list minimum.
You put Cartier on the level of ...Chanel? They invented the wristwatch market. Bro...do some homework and re-release this video. You are simply misleading people
Nice one Marco, great vid! Very fair ranking, my heart revolted a little with Seiko but being completely frank and honest with myself, you put them where they belong.
Thanks! Tried to be objective as I could and put personal bias aside but glad with how list turned out. I think overall this is a very fair ranking. Glad you enjoyed and thank you for the support 🙏
As a watch enthusiast with NO budget, thank you AMZWATCH for great-looking mechanical watches that I can afford! their are very clean, classy look, $150 each. I still watch videos about expensive “proper” watches, but I enjoy what I have
Actually a decent list I can agree with. Some new brands to check out as well! Thanks for the upload
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed and learned from this!! 🙏
You are about 95% right with your categories. MontBlanc should be a B. Blancpain should be a A. Ebel is a C. Maen should not have been classified as it is a young company with very little history. Doxa did well to get a B and that would only apply to the SUB range. Bell & Ross top tier C or bottom tier B. The same with Sinn. Girard Perregaux top tier B or bottom tier A. Louis Erard should be a B. Much of this grading is subjective but your rationale was great in most cases. Good ratings overall. Thanks.
Great ranking👌 What is your daily and dream watches?
Worst list in the history of lists
IMHO, VC is the more artistic of the holy Trinity. Was happy to see you changed your mind and bumped Cartier to A tier. Why would anyone pay $8K for a Hublot with a Selita movement? Lastly, the B&M Rivera has a lot of similarities with the IWC Ingenier with a $10K difference in price - I'll take the Rivera.
Another great vid - TYVM
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
Not a bad ranking. I agree with most
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed this 🙏
Looking through you're list and I'm curious. Do you know anything about watches?
Bruh, for Blancpain, Longines and CASIO alone I am lighting up torches and sharpening my pitchfork! What...? Also, get a Maen please, they are worth it...
Haha totally fair! At the end of the day these lists will always be personally slanted/biased to a certain extent. Definitely need to look into Maen for sure. Hope you enjoyed this 🙏
@@MarcoFerranteWatches Hey Marco, it was definitely entertaining video and my comment was meant to be in good fun. I agree with much of what you said; yes, it is all subjective. I checked Longines the other day again and i reconfirmed for myself that it is criminally underrated, you can make a collection of any number with Casio and Longines, 3, 5, 10 or 1. A colleague has a Maen here in the Netherlands(Boston i beleive, the gmt one?); it looked the part!
@@EskiZagra Longines are quite versatile and offer some of the best dress watches on the market for the price, but they need to discontinue most of their sub 2.5k USD watches if they want to improve brand perception, especially in the west.
@@EskiZagra Thanks, I appreciate the kind words! Totally agree on Longines, their designs and build quality are fantastic!! Definitely need to look into Maen
I would have put Oris one notch up. With their new ground breaking calibre 400 and highly distinctive designs, they deserve a better spot. They are also a truly independent company, unlike many others, part of the Swatch group. Just my thoughts.
Grand seiko? Should be S or A . Most beautiful dials in the game.
I still have my citizen from my grandfather it have 50 years old still working
In essence, here is his ranking: expensive high end swiss brand in A tier and affordable watches in D tier. Wow, man! Thanks for the insight. The more expensive it is the higher the ranking. I'm sticking to my Citizen, Seiko, Orient and Casio. I guess I buy junk but heck it tells time , they're robust and 90% of the people ou there don't ever have a clue about the price of a watch even if you're wearing an AP. Just for the anectode, I was wearing my Casio Duro with a jubilee bracelet at the pool and a kid told me noticed it and told me nice Rolex! 😂 Real story.
Love MAMACOO watch,Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
Way better list than Leonard except few I totally agree Marco 👍🏾
Nice to see MAMACOO show a watch that can be afforded by almost anyone rather than these pieces costing thousands and thousands which are out of reach for so many.
hype dealer price ranking --------------------------------------no knowledge about watches
Sinn needs to be higher. Atleast a B. My fav brand from a horological POV is Patek, VC, FP. I do own an AP royal oak chronograph in ss which imo is the best tool watch for me personally. Nothing against rolex, they do make good watches but im over them. VC is my go to dress watch. I personally dont like big watches and FP is a little out of my comfort zone (literal comfort) but nonetheless i still want one as a statement piece.
Fair enough, I think Sinn in C is fair, I don't see it as a B tier brand personally but also probably haven't had enough time with their watches. You have great taste in timepieces!! Hope you enjoyed this 🙏
@@MarcoFerranteWatchesI don’t see Doxa there either..
0:06 from least to worst?
When people are saying AMZWATCH is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Great video. I know it’s just your opinion but pretty spot on.
CW is a b tier at a minimum. Rolex also deserves S even though I don’t care for them, they deserve massive respect for educating the next generation of watch makers FOR FREE!
Great job Marco although I put GP in A tier
Totally fair! They are an amazing watchmaker with great history. I definitely see the merits. A bit of personal bias at play there for me personally 👍
Definitely agree with this
I think Citizen and Bulova should definitely be in the C tier, almost B tier, Casio should almost squeeze into B tier, especially with the Oceanus and Edifice line. Christopher Ward, Steinhart, and Tissot B Tier.
I personally disagree but that's what keeps this hobby fun and interesting in that it is all really based on personal preference and style. They are all great brands no doubt! Hope you enjoyed this 🙏
I really love Moser movements especially they have top class manual winding movements and i am ready if it hits me to pay more if only they hand finish those movements as of now they somehow feels industrial overall.great list love the pace too👏🏻
Thanks for the kind words! Moser is a great brand definitely makes a lot of interesting movements!! I'm a big fan of their perpetual moons I think they are very underrated watches made by the incredible Andreas Strehler. Glad to hear you enjoyed this 🙏
Seiko is the best watch ever in terms of quality/price while all the Swiss made watches are overpriced and overvalued as well, very absurd for prices.
I don't know if I agree but I respect your view on this. There is no doubt Seiko is great value of course. Hope you enjoyed this video 🙏
You lost at Chanel
Hello and thanks for this video. Mean is certainly a "C" category brand. It is rather good microbrand created in Sweden in 2017 and with some of their watches with "swiss made" label. Mean already has a banger, the Manhattan (a scare watch which could remind the Cubitus, except that it has been done 3 or 4 years before the Cubitus ;) And it just launched a perhaps future banger, the Lunar Classic.
You seem to be all-over-the-map when it comes to your criteria. But hey, your opinion is respected.
Personal bias definitely comes into play when making these tier lists. At the end of the day we will all value different things in watches and not see eye to eye on everything. That is what keeps this hobby fun and interesting. Regardless, hope you enjoyed this 🙏
Hi Marco , great videos.
I’ve got a question for you
Is Patek Philippe brings parts and movements from China ?
All brands do that.
Thank you! I would tend to agree with the comment underneath that many brands do this. I've never heard of Patek Philippe doing this, but I wouldn't be shocked if it is the case. Sourcing the raw materials/components for the cheapest price possible is the end goal for any business to maximize profit - which is the goal of any business at the end of the day. So long as the parts are then finished to a high level by a watchmaker - which one would expect from Patek Philippe - I don't see an issue with it if they do source parts/raw materials from China. Hope you enjoyed this video 🙏
You are waaaay out mate
The 3 most popular selling watches in the world. Are rolex brightling and omega period anybody in the industry with a brain knowns this.
Oris- c category? Ball?
Are you OK?
Breguet makes me sad. Not because the watches are bad - but because Swatch could be doing so much more with the brand.
AP is definitely top tier, but you can feel how badly they want to be more than the Royal Oak. The 11.59 isn't there - yes, it's a good watch, yes, it's a material % of sales. But like 90% of those sales are to qualify for a RO. Can't blame them for trying. Everyone wants to be Patek / Rolex / Lange / (maybe Vacheron?), where you have a half dozen or so iconic models people are eager to pay retail for.
I'm so with you in regards to Breguet, let's hope their newly appointed CEO changes things and really shakes things up. They truly are historic and one of the most important brands in the industry. As for AP I agree regarding the oversaturation/overproduction of the Royal Oak but it is arguably the greatest design of a watch ever so in fairness I understand why they do it haha
Swatch is clearly the wrong home for them.
@@lamentate07 I could not agree more!!
What do u think of Bovet?
Excellent brand! Given their ingenuity and them being one of the few watch brands which makes everything or almost everything right down to hairsprings in-house and the breadth of complications they are able to execute, I would rank them in S tier. Hope you enjoyed this 🙏
Frederique Constant at the same level as Blancpain?! You must be kidding. "Affordable luxury", medium quality and wannabe/no provenance, versus real luxury and watchmaking. Strange rating. At least you put Glashutte at the A level (where Blancpain should be), but Omega is not at the same level of Glashutte and Blancpain. Really enjoyed your video though.
I considered myself a "watch guy" before seeing this video. But I have to admit there 5 or 6 watch brands in this video that I never heard of lol..
I would argue on like 30% on this list but, it is your video and your list. Do is as you want it.
I would also add like 20 more very good watch companies that aren't that popular in states.
So, this is very popularity companies list too.
I like your vides anyway.
Do you have an opinion on Raymond Weil Swiss brand?
You just Showed up on my newsfeed. Good to see you again. I have always value your knowledge.
Glad to see you have moved on from the Egocentrics of the past.
I wouldn't comment on brand that I don't know. I can't believe you put Christopher ward in average category talk about value for money come on. And you know you've never looked at an Invicta.
We all have differing opinions, it's what makes this hobby fun and interesting given we don't all have the same tastes. Not shaming anyone based on this list, it's just where I personally rank these brands
@@MarcoFerranteWatches my apologies, its true you didn't not dispairage anyone. Some people do and that is not cool. In my opinion when it comes to value Invictas are great. They make crazy weirdo designs but a lot of more traditional stuff too. Be well Sir.
To start with!
Try to give some respect to the brands you are talking about and start to pronounce the brandnams correctly.
Yep. Fast forward and see Seiko and Casio at C tier. I left.
Marconi you ran away from the crazy ukranian?
RM- sorry not value. For my taste they are tacky. B tier at best
Zenith- class should be an A
TAG Heuer- Carrera and Monaco over priced? The new aquaracer overpriced? Tag should be B tier.
Oris- priced right. Besides their latest in house movement they have been a bit vanilla. Still a B
Tudor- meh. B at best. Nothing original
Thanks for video
Thank you for watching 🙏
Casio and Rolex in d and c tier. Lul.
Great job Marko
None of the Parmigiani watches shown are still for sale, the whole collection is renewed, with Tonda Pf, Tonda Pf Sport and the new Toric
I agree. Both those lines are incredible, to me. I want that Tonda PF so bad haha
Just wondering. How come Steinhart isn’t being recognized in the watch world and Invicta is
How would you rate Angelus?
Excellent new indy, I would rate them a solid A tier brand. Very comparable to Moser in my opinion. Hope this makes sense and thanks for watching the video! 🙏
Definitely the most interesting & informative channel in TH-cam,and I am your fan! I’ve been watching MAMACOO and buying them recently to complement my watch collection. Good video
Better list than Nico.
I believe no man can say no to AMZWATCH's watches
What about Bremont?... Not a brand that I'm fussed about, but deserves to be in the mix.
Nivada Grenchen should have been there….. but loved your list! Agreed 99%!
Thank you! Nivada Grenchen is not a brand I'm super familiar nor I've handled very much. Would love to know what you think of their pieces. Appreciate the support on the video 🙏
Vacheron and JLC are my two favorites.
Really great ranking from a very knowledgeable person. Lol @ me being in that c tier life. Spend 20 bucks, c tier. Spend 2k+, still c tier. I guess I have a type.
Marco, when did you go to Burdeens? I have my eye on that Moser venturer
I joined the team about 2 months ago now. An amazing organization to be a part of! And absolutely it would be a pleasure to help, feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @watch.marco .. Thanks for the support on the video 🙏
