Great to watch a well dressed, well groomed young man speaking with decency and sincerity about our passion for the art and beauty of wrist watches. Thank you!
Another fantastic episode. Some of the best stuff really. A grail watch absolutely needs to be either (1) unobtainable or (2) extremely heroically difficult to obtain. Your particular selections, besides being masterpieces, certainly fit into that criteria. Personally, mine are vintage pieces, but that is the beauty of our hobby - different perspectives.
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed my picks! I'm not big into vintage but certainly respect that area. Just have always preferred modern timepieces. Maybe someday I will get into vintage. Thank you for the support on the video 🙏
Very nice list. I enjoy your videos because you have a consistent, logical approach to watch collecting. Here is my list which excludes any watches I already own. 1. Grand Seiko Kodo Constant Force Turbillon 2. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Tourbillon Skeleton Titanium. 3. Credor Eichi ii 4. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak QEII 5. Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport x Senna
Excellent pick 💯 While the salmon dial is amazing, I would consider a “regular” 3970G one of my grail watches as well. This with a platinum Datograph. I am a man of simple taste.
So incredibly refreshing! No boring Rolexes, no dull APs, no unbearable independent snobbery… Just the real deal! Well done. The only watch channel I’m subscribing to.
Really great picks. Didn't know about that Journe piece... and just like that, it might be my favorite one yet! My grails would probably include a Dufour Duality, an R.W. Smith Series 1 piece, and a Kari Voutilainen 28TPI... if price where no object and I could throw caution to the wind. I'm a sucker for time-only pieces. Some potentially achievable grails for me would be from the likes of Marco Lang/Lang and Heyne -- my favorite being the Georg, Moritz Grossmann -- Hamatic, Gronefeld - 1941 Remontoire (if it ever drops in price.. lol) and Laurent Ferrier -- Classic Micro-rotor in Magnetic Green ...
Great choices but for me I would go for the simpler pieces. Patek 5740, 5070P, 5178 Rolex Rainbow Daytona and AP15416 ceramic. Sorry, I can’t be too creative but these would be great to have. Keep up the good work.
Can't argue at all with the Patek 5970 and the VC (although I didn't even know it existed). Not an MB&F fan. So I'd substitute the JLC Caliber 185 Reverso. Those would be my three unobtainable grails. I'm going to add two obtainable ones to complete my list with an honorable mention too. Number four would be an early Roger Dubuis Homage Monopusher with a salmon guilloche dial (second choice lapiz dial). Number five is a Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto as my sport grail. Honorable mention is also a Laurent Ferrier Galet Traveller Globe Night Blue. (FPJ would be a Chronometre Resonance)
I got to see one of my grails in person a few weekends ago, a Vacheron Overseas Tourbillon blue dial. Amazing watch but torn with the Overseas blue dial perpetual calendar ultra thin as my true grail. I would not refuse a AP rose gold Royal Oak skeleton either. 😁
Both Vacheron's - having been very lucky to have handled both - are phenomenal as well as the AP. My pick is the Overseas Tourb if you can pull off the size. Unfortunately my wrist is too small haha. Hope you enjoyed this video 🙏
Basically, you want special editions of 5 (already) really expensive watches :) The VC watch impressed me the most. It looks so simple but is so complex...
Isn't that the fun in watch collecting, getting ultra rare pieces no one else or very few people have? I don't know maybe that's just the kick I've been on but I love things that I will walk into a room and 99.9% of the time everyone will have never seen those watches before. Hope you enjoyed this video 🙏
@@MarcoFerranteWatches You are too advanced for us common mortals!! I'm just lusting after pieces that EVERYONE "seems to have"!! (ex Panda, Batman, Hulk) 😃
Hey Marco, I like your grails. I hope you’re able to obtain them day, or at least one of them. My number one grail is the 60th anniversary Rolex Day-Date in Everose gold with that olive green dial of course.
Thank you brother! Olive Daydate is the king of modern daydates in my opinion and I hope you are able to obtain it one day also. God bless and thank you for the support 🙏
My all time favorite Breguet would be the ref. 3355PT - a platinum skeleton tourbillon with a full platinum bracelet. So sick!! Glad you enjoyed this 🙏
goodjob i agree, but i also like the zeitwerk, .. with the ding dong,a goat told ..skymoon tourbilion patek? there worldtimer, with emamel.special reverso with 3 dails.. and asomething nice of mb&f (buldog, fits me) greetzz. ou est davide?
Not really, I like what I like and value retention has very little importance. These are just very rare watches that are extremely hard to come by and so they all trade over their original MSRP...
Having owned one of the original Lange PLM in rose with rose bracelet, I will tell you the finishing on what you couldn't see through the back was disappointing.
Marco that is nice list brother 🙌🏻, my grails are 1. Andreas Strehler TransAxial Tourbillon , just imagining the thought process of Strehler placing Remontoire and Tourbillon carriage on same rotational axis is madness it release in 2018 but never got as hyped as GS Kodo constant force almost similar in concept but differ in execution . 2. Derek Pratt , obtaining any of his creation is an absolute dream for me but if i can i will aim for one of his Pocket watches . 3. Vianney Halter La Resonance , not because it is fancy complication but i have an attachment with the resonance phenomenon as it was my practical test project that i aced in high school . 4. Aaron Becsei , since ever having known this watchmaker I thought commissioning a piece with my nerdy thought process would be an endgame in collecting watches . 5. In 2022 i have seen 2 watches that were love at 1st sight those were Rexhep Rexhepi RRCC 2 and Vacheron Constantin 5400T/000P Traditionelle split seconds chronograph ultra thin excellence platine obtaining any of those 2 would be amazing but if you force me to choose only one it’s undoubtedly VC 5400T, that makes us rivals i guess but hey there are 15 available.
Wow what a list!! I have not seen an RRCC in person yet. Have handled a few Akrivia models and they are phenomenal so I'm sure I'd love the RRCC. Every other pick is just amazing also. Glad you enjoyed this video 🙏
