- Bride Jess is getting married in five months, but she needs to find a dress as soon as possible because she is pregnant! With a tight budget of £500, Gok asks his staff to help him find a dress for her.

I just love how they respect the budget.
They had to discount dresses in order for that to happen in this case. One of the dresses was knocked down from £800 to £500. Just for her. And they were sample dresses, too, which are always cheaper anyway.
Stores cannot afford to do this for everyone, or they won't ever make any money. They are running a business. To expect them to do that for brides who just want extravagant dresses for cheap is ridiculous.

@@catladyfromky4142 i think the person might’ve been talking about how in the other syttd shows like ny, they constantly show the bride a dress over budget that they can’t have but love. yes this case is different because they discounted a dress for her, but in general, Lancashire syttd people ALWAYS respect their budget, unless it’s slightly over and even then they still ask.
@@catladyfromky4142 actually since this is on a tv shows, its most likely she would only pay 500 pounds as she was told while the tv paid the rest. :)
The fact that Gok can find a more beautiful and unique dress for £500 than the US episodes of SYTTD can find for $10,000 is wild.

The fact that they could find this dress for 8 and even the other ones that were 500 looked amazing, compared to the ones in America like, a bride came in with 1500 and they couldn't find a dress half as decent as these. Says alot. But she looked beautiful in them all
And they roll their eyes like it's a huge inconvenience to find a dress in that range, that's always rubbed me the wrong way.
I went to David’s bridal and I didn’t have a budget at the time and my dress has a long train it’s fitted thru the waist with sparkle and chiffon and I literally paid $500 for mine. I’m getting married in October and I’ve seen some dresses on here in the thousands that aren’t as beautiful as the one I said yes to

What a wonderful episode this was. Jessica looks gorgeous in her chosen dress, she looked fantastic in both the second and third dresses, and I'm so glad Paula let her have the dress for £500.
Gok is so awesome and takes the time to make every bride feel special and make sure she leaves happy.

The budget wasn’t respected. The shop knocked off 300 because she was disabled. The next person with that budget and no disability isn’t going to get that discount. They felt sorry for her.
@@mircat28 how can you say that? You have no basis for that argument at all. Just because she happened to be disabled and they gave her a dress for cheap doesn’t mean they did it because she was disabled. You have no way of knowing that they wouldn’t do that for another bride.
@@mircat28 Not true. Many perfectly healthy brides with no tragic stories have been given massive discounts on this show before simply because they fell in love with those dresses.

it's so nice that the video title doesn't even mention her arm or her pregnancy. and even then, both of those are barely even mentioned in the video at all. jessica is treated just like any other bride and it's wonderful to see gok work with all of these different people and make them all feel like royalty no matter their features :))

Other stores in this series sell more high-end designer gowns. That is why they are more expensive. And ALL of the Lancashire episodes are newer while some of the other stores' eps may be older. And, as bridal fashions change very quickly, they may seem outdated or more blasé.
And, BTW, each store's episodes have a certain storyline to follow. In Lancashire, almost everyone has a emotional, medical, or physical problem who needs Gok to make better. That is one of the reasons why virtually all these commenters on TH-cam connect with Gok and this store the most. It is the catharsis or gratitude of Gok coming in to the rescue that makes the Lancashire eps. It is NOT an accident, and the producers do this on purpose. I just can't believe that, in this day and age, lots of people do not understand how reality TV is made.
You're right on so many levels. But, personally, i love gok because he is not focused on selling the most expensive dress to his brides but what fits them. And his undeniable talent at picking the perfect dress for each bride is mind boggling. No matter the budget, the crowd or how difficult the bride might be,they all leave with the right dress for them. He is impressive. Nothing is staged i give you that
@@catladyfromky4142 Very true. he is also selling for country weddings so there are more fairytale dresses for garden and manor style weddings, as opposed to a store based in a big city. The designers are also mid-range designers so they're all about the fashion right here right now, where some of the higher end designers will go for more timeless or their own new ideas. In a way I don't like the Gok episodes because there is just too much Oprah-style stuff going in everytime.
I literally went "wow" when I saw her in the third dress, she's so beautiful! I absolutely adore Gok and I won't get tired of saying this, I watched an episode with David Emanuel in it where the bride said she had a budget of £500 and the face he made! I can't stand that guy! Gok on the other hand, I can watch episodes with him the whole day and won't get tired! He's such a sweetheart ❤️
So it’s not just me that noticed the face! I hate how he guilt trips brides into stretching their budgets.

I try to avoid Emanuel's episodes. Plus he has an awful assistant, sometimes. Her voice is like chalk on a blackboard and she has said some very insensitive things.
I wish the episodes were identified by the headline salesperson.

We really need to praise the store's purchaser for carrying these gowns in the store. If not for this person, Gok would not be able to find the perfect dresses for these clients.
And then we also need to praise the manager for discounting the dresses in the sample section. She REALLY made the dress affordable. Gok found dresses that were more expensive initially, so the manager made it all possible.

It really shows that you don't have to spend £10k on a dress (and still be picky). OK, it helps to have a Gok on hand, but if you keep an open mind, you don't need to break the bank to have a beautiful wedding dress.
Gok is the best bridal consultant ever and he is so sweet! He is an angel and love how he pulls out all the stops to ensure a bride has the best experience ever! The girl looks stunning in the third dress.

Important to consider though that on camera, with post edit, the colour difference may be more vibrant here. In person it may be less noticeable

I absolutely LOVE this version with *GOK* because he is so caring and actually makes sure the bride gets her wishes and not have the entourage decide. I also *LOVE* that he takes the brides budget into consideration and not choose dresses that are out of their price range. The way he always makes sure that his brides feel special says alot about him as a person.

I love that they did not stop at the 2nd dress. I feel like some of the other Boutiques on the show would have just thrown a veil on her to make a deal. Gok just really seems to care about the brides and wants them to find their perfect gown.

Gok did an incredible job finding Jess the perfect wedding dress and I love that ultimately the bride was able to find a dress she loved (instead of merely a dress that her mother loved). But in the end, everyone loved the dress Jess chose because her confidence and happiness was radiating along with the dress! 💗
Oh, the moment she opened her eyes to see Dress #3! THAT is a happily-ever-after gown.

The store's manager made these dresses affordable. Only she can decide to discount these sample dresses to fit that budget. But kudos to Gok for going the extra mile so that the manager could do this for her.

I love this show, especially in Australia! Maybe it’s because Gok who is not only fun but also incredibly gifted and especially empathetic! He seemed to be able to sense if the bride-to-be is happy or not, even before she realizes it. I just wish we could see photos of these beautiful brides, in these gorgeous dresses, on their wedding day!💞

This dress was not within budget. The manager (owner?) discounted the dress specifically for her. That particular dress - "as is" sample" - was originally £800. And, if I do the math that commenters usually do for the London shop, the price was 60% over budget. So Paula discounted the dress to make it within budget. But someone else would have had to pay the £800.
