- Hello everyone! Welcome to this video!
Here is the world's currently largest and airworthy aircraft back in action again; the Antonov An-225 Mriya from Antonov Airlines.
After making a once again huge splash in Toronto upon arrival the other day from Anchorage, it was time for the departure. Heading back the next day on Sunday morning to Anchorage and most likely returning to Tianjin afterwards. ADB305F filed out at 0810hrs and was perfectly on time as the aircraft was pushed-back, taxied and departed RWY 06L to Anchorage amid a huge crowd of plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts that came to watch the departure. For a moment there I thought it needed more runway but it got up... what a beautiful behemoth.
What a beautiful airplane ! I love that reverberating, echoing sound of the huge turbofan jet engines at 4:45. I first heard that echoing sound when the B 747s first started to come to 'Toronto International Airport', now Pearson. This sound often came out of the 747s when they were slowing down to come for a landing. Aarre Peltomaa

I have always loved aircraft, and this one is astounding. Does any one know the specifics of its engines? Manufacturer, thrust, fuel consumption, etc? Also, what is the 225's effective range?

Nope. Doesn’t have rear door loading access since it was originally designed to transport the Brian Space Shuttle.

if my information is correct the cargo was masks, gloves and other medical supplies..not sure if it left empty to Alaska..
