OK, here we have a "tech guy" who doesn't even understand that a Mac Mini in sleep mode consumes only a small fraction of a single watt per hour. The power required during the startup cycle exceeds his daily power savings by powering off the Mac Mini.
the new mac mini doesn't really need the power button, its so power efficient that when you put it in sleep, its pretty much off anyways.. i tend to run my full desk through a UPS too so not really an issue as it uses the stored power on sleep rather than the outlet.. Plus it also supports wake on lan, so if you really wanted to remotely switch it on via ethernet you could.
There's no need to turn this Mac off. Sleep is what MacOS is supposed to do and it will draw very little power. The only reason to turn off a Mac is if you're worried about power surges (e.g. lightening) in which case you should unplug it, or better yet use UPS with surge protection (which one should do anyone if your livelihood depends upon these things.)
I see this as a traveling computer since the size is so small. All you need is the Mac mini and The office will supply the keyboard, monitor and mouse. So locating the😊 power at the bottom is just weird and makes no sense. Imagine putting the power button under your laptop.
The bottom places power button is a non-issue for 99.9% of people. I can count on one hand with fingers left the number of times I have used the power button on any of my macs in the last year. I'd say the lack of USB type A is going to be a much bigger issue because most of the accessories out there are still USB-A.
I pay 55c per kWhr where I live but with solar and batteries I haven’t paid an electricity bill in years and my system has already paid for itself so now it’s savings every month
I'm sure some of them are warranty related as companies often require you to have the receipt and original packaging. Other than that I agree completely.
Because his personality is abrasive and demeaning. It's the weird cousin at Christmas. The editing is rough and tacky, and I can't tell if he likes old or new. The dislike of USB-A is odd. USB-A is still very well-used. And thinking Apple is unveiling a new line of computers with HDMI 2.1, or even HDMI 2? I would assume it is HDMI 2.2 at least.
I atleast turn off my PC 2 times a day. To save electricity, and power cuts. Problem is companies does something unreasonable and people defend it instead of criticizing bad designs. Oh I don't need 3.5mm jack, I have tws I can't sense delay because I'm not slow. Oh I don't power off my pc electricity is unlimited and free, there's no powercut.
as per my above power, the Apple Silicon Macs use so little power when sleeping that you're probably incurring MORE power consumption rebooting the thing to just re-load everything into cache and reinitialise everything. I mean, right now, playing TH-cam my MacBook Pro M1 Pro CPU+GPU is consuming *under half a watt* while playing this TH-cam video.
@@urbanspaceman7183 but you are missing the point. You don't need the power button to switch it off. You need it just to turn it on. And that is impractical when the only way to turn it on is on the bottom
Is there even one sentence in your video that was not cut into more parts? I do like your video overall, but my mind gets hyperstimulated by all these snaps and cuts. So I will definitely need a CPU and memory update :-)
Genuine dumb question from a not apple user, would one of these mini pcs be able to handle Procreate/animation and video rendering or are they more of a server based thingy?
This Mac mini should be amazing at that. While there are other mini pcs that can technically do that, their cooling systems generally aren’t robust enough to prevent a system overheating. But Apple Silicon in general is so energy efficient (meaning it won’t produce anywhere near as much waste heat) that it enables Apple to make such small but mighty powerful computers!
Bottom power button is a non-issue
Certainly!

$1299 for 16GB/512GB in Australia but in windows land you can get a mini pc with a ryzen 9, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD for that
thought it was 600
It will also be running Windows shit so its not even close to the same thing.
You have to pay Windows too
It is actually really easy not to buy. Base model has 256GB of not upgradeable SSD.
Loved the video you rock kiddo!

The clearance of the airflow underneath allows access to the power button.

sleeping Mac uses so little power you're probably wasting more power when you power it up to re-load everything back into cache, etc.

Bee-Link(SER7) has similar ports layout as a new Mac Mini, however it has power button in the front which is very convenience.

I’m sure mount makers will account for the new power button location, I can see them making a gap for it
I don’t even need a new computer but this new Mac mini is just too good not to buy.
Are there usb c wired mouse?
I own a mouse that has a USBC wireless receiver. Works beautifully! But if you insist on the mouse being wired and not wireless, yes, they exist.
Lol @ all the apple validation in the opening shot. It's ok to get rid of cardbord dude.

Soooo why doesn’t this guy have waaayyy more subscribers?

The new Mac Mini is the most reasonably priced computer they have ever released.

Can it run all steam games?
No
Gonna play the heck out of Stardew Valley on that M4.
Remember It's ARM Based, NOT X86, So Games, Certain Ones Have To Run Under Emulation !!
Indeed. Just bought one. Mac Mini Pro!
You could just unplug or switch off at the socket.
you can power off in software but you still need to switch it on with the button

FYI it's HDMI 2.1

you don't need the M4 Pro for music lol.....

This M4 Mini would be a beast for this work.
Apple "BS" Now that’s funny!
