I love all your tutorials. I took all the Wilton classes so I could make my babies birthday cake. I am hoping I can acomplish that. I saw your Etsy store, its amazing. I might have to go shopping in your store if I bomb.
I appreciate that. Thank you! :) 2 lbs. of red satin ice w/ tylose will go a long way. Have fun! :) Have you seen my tutorials I have for sale on my FB page or on my online Etsy store. They're pretty cool! :) You can find the links to my Etsy and to my FB pages on my channel. :)
Thank you so much! Sure you can make it! Look up Lorraine McKay (Aine2) here on youtube. She has an awesome tutorial on how to make it. Glad you liked my tutorial! Thanks! :)
I personally would not paint. The simplest solution would be to just make red gumpaste, like I did for this video, by mixing pre-colored red fondant with tylose. I'm not sure it would look to good painted. :)
Hi, love your Elmo. Question...do yu let the body dry before adding anything else like the head especially ? How do you prevent the body from drooping ?
Hi Sandra! Thank you so much! You can prevent the body by drooping by making sure you're using gumpaste (fondant + tylose powder) and not just fondant which is very flimsy and doesn't hold its shape. It's always a good idea to allow a torso to dry for a little while before adding a heavy head on top. I hope that helps and thanks for watching! :)
I love it that your hubby helps you!!...Love the Elmo!!
What an ingenious way to create the fur effect! Thanks!

Yes M'am! It should be up now. :)
Thank you so much! I purchase mine at global sugar art or my local cake supply but there's hundreds of online places that sell it. :)

Thank you so much! Sure you can make it! Look up Lorraine McKay (Aine2) here on youtube. She has an awesome tutorial on how to make it. Glad you liked my tutorial! Thanks! :)
HI Roy! Don't worry about the questions. LOL! Sorry but can you explain what you mean by putting the "arms to the top"?
Gracias! Si, yo tambien antes lo hacia con un piquito y se tardaba una eternidad. Haha. :)
Where do buy the red satin ice from? I love your tutorials they are are so thorough! Thank you for sharing your talent!
Awww! So sweet! THANK YOU! I love it too! LOL! :)
Since its difficult to get white gumpaste really red, would your painting technique work?
I personally would not paint. The simplest solution would be to just make red gumpaste, like I did for this video, by mixing pre-colored red fondant with tylose. I'm not sure it would look to good painted. :)
I am ordering 2 lbs satin ice red and mix with tylose. I wish you were local, I would love to learn from ty ou
AWESOME!!!! :)
Haha! I think it might be simpler if you just ordered the topper from me. :) Let me know if you're interested in ordering. :)
For your size Elmo, how much approx satin ice fandant?
Do you have part one?
I would say approximately 2 oz. maybe a bit more. Be sure not to use fondant though, rather use gumpaste. Fondant is too flimsy.

@@krazykoolcakes thanks for answering. .... that's what I thought
Can I make this with Fondant and a lil Tylose powder?
Hi Veronica! That's exactly what we do. We mix tylose powder with fondant to make our gumpaste. This was red fondant and we added tylose to it. :)
Great! Laura. 3 done , one to go! ;-)
hey. sorry for all the questions...here goes another one =/
how do i put elmos arms to the top?
Hi Laura I know it has been a long time since this video was posted but I need to know, how many days in advance can I make the Elmo?
Hi there! Gumpaste if kept in a cool and dry environment can last a very long time. You could make this months in advance if you wanted to. :)
