Thank you Thank you Thank you !!! After viewing several tutorials I found yours the most authentic looking Elmo.. Plus your step by step made it easy to follow ! I made the Elmo for a cake order with out any problems !! You are wonderful !
He's adorable! Looks like you can pop him right off of a cake & snuggle w/ him! Lol! Your fur technique is awesome! Thank you bunches for sharing! God bless you too! :)
Thank you so much! I would highly recommend sticking with gumpaste. Fondant is very soft and does not hold its shape well. Glad you liked the tutorial! Thanks again! :)
Haha! Gracias Yaneri! Que riza! I was hungry! LOL! Yes I use tylose and water to make my edible glue. I can't wait to see your Elmo!!!! Gracias chica! :)
Thank you very much! It's my pleasure. Glad you like the tutorial. The topper shouldn't weight that much so it's not necessary to use dowels underneath. Just be sure to use the inner structure I show in the tutorial. :)
Laura, i got your video just in the nik of time for a Elmo cake order this week, i just sat back and copied everything, youre going to heaven with your shoes on lol....
Hi Archie! Thank you so much for your opinion. I appreciate your kind words! :) Thank you for watching them. You remove the Elmo from the foam core by just carefully lifting it from the torso. :)
I enjoy your tutorials. It's very clear and professional. I always look forward to watching your tutorials. I had a question once the Elmo topper is done how would I be able to remove the topper from the firm core?
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the results. Thank you so very much for taking the time to go step by step. I really appreciate it and I also appreciate that you are as perfectionist as I am. :D
Thank you for the tutorial, I just made a little version and he turned out great, Was going to use a curved scissors to do fur which would have taken forever! I was putting making him off all week, should have watched your video earlier!
I really enjoyed your easy to follow instructions. I used Choco Pan Gumpaste and was very happy with the results. My only mistake was that I made Elmo's pupils too big. Thank you for the amazing tutorials!
Hello! I loveeee this video, thank you so much for posting it..I am about to attempt to make it =) how do you remove it from the foam block to put on the cake? also, does it keep well after its made?
Are you using gumpaste? Or just fondant? Are you using the same exact inner structure I taught in the video? What kind of gumpaste are you using if any?
Thank you! The ball tool with the rubber end does not come with attachments. It's in a set of 3 however. It's the Sculpey style and detail tool set. :)
Well, it SHOULD dry. You want it to dry. If it gets cracked up or looks cracked, that can only happen while you are sculpting it and if there was no proper support on the inside and your toppers was sinking down while it dried. The time to eliminate cracks and wrinkles is WHILE you are sculpting. We just leave our toppers out in the open or in some type of closed container. Whatever you do, don't refrigerate it. Hope that helps! :)
Actually I buy the satin ice and mix it with tylose powder so it BECOMES gum paste. Yes you can certainly order from me. My turn around time right now is about 3 weeks to a month so if you would like to receive it in time I would recommend placing your order immediately. :)
Hi Iris! You are VERY welcome! When I say gumpaste, I mean 100% gumpaste. It's all satin ice fondant mixed with tylose so it turns into 100% gumpaste. All you need to do is add tylose to it and it turns into gumpaste. No longer fondant. Hope that helps. :)
Hello Laura! Thank you for your lovely like always tuts :) One question: When you say gumpaste is it 50/50 gumpaste and fondant or is it completely satin silk fondant that you just call gumpaste. I like working with satin silk fondant and rather get them colored, but was wondering if adding gumpaste to it will lighten the color of my fondant. Thank you :)
OMGe my amigita! Loved it!!! Your so amazing girl!!! Thank u for sharing this! Now I got to work on my Elmo too! I'll send u a pic of how it came out. Your tips will help me through the process of creating him. The head was the only thing that had me confused. Will need to practice on making a football shape head! Hey btw....what do you use to make your glue? Tylose powder and water okay too? Thanks again sweet pea!! {hugs} Yaneri P.S...u got me cracking when you said Eclair..sounds yummy!
So you buy satin ice red fondant and mix with gum paste? 50/50? I want to start naking it now for my daughters birthday in December. If I flop, do you make them for shipping?
Laurapoopie,I love your Elmo. I have to make a spiderman cake for my 4yr old nephew and was wondering if you have or could make a spiderman tutorial? Many thanks for all you do to help.
Hi I have a question ..do did such an amazing job!! But do u do your own gum paste at home or you buy it..and what's the difference on using gum paste or fondant?
Hi Vanessa, Yes, we make our own gumpaste by mixing ready made fondant with tylose powder. I have a tutorial on that if you'd like to check it out. :) Gumpaste is better for sculpting. It holds its shape better, dries quicker, and lends itself better to moulding. :)
how would you store this if you are making the character a few weeks or even a month in advance? You know so that it doesn't get all cracked and dried up. Thank you. :)
Hi Danielle, No of course you don't HAVE TO, but if you would like for it to come out RIGHT and GOOD, then I would highly recommend using gumpaste which is why I suggested it in the tutorial. :)
Thank you VERY much! I'm so happy you are enjoying and learning from the tutorials. THAT'S what it's all about! Thanks for making my day! :)

Thank you and you're VERY welcome! :)
Hi Amyla, I have the Elmo for sale in my online Etsy store if you'd like to purchase it. :)
Oh boy. A million different places. LOL. Craft stores, online, etc. etc., :)
Yes, of course let it dry completely before you move it. Once it's hardened, it won't break. Always pick up from the torso. Never the head or limbs.
Hi Amber, if he will be in the sitting position, you can make it the same way. :)
Muchas gracias! :)
That's AWESOME!!! Thank you so much! :0)
Oh you can make it months in advance! :) Gumpaste remains in great condition for a very long time. :)
Thank you! :)

Do I use 100% Gumpaste for all Elmo or half fondant half Gumpaste . Thanks!
+Andrea Vanessa HI Andrea, We use 100% gumpaste. :)
My sons birthday is November 11 and I was wondering if I were to make this Elmo now would it be ok until then?
Definitely. Just whatever you do, don't put it in the refrigerator. Keep it in a dry and cool place. No sunlight, no humidity.
Ok thank you soo much.
Hi! Probably not since they are trademarks. :(
