TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - Welcome to Trinidad and Tobago and one of the things I was most excited to try when I was there were the Trinidad scorpion chilies - lab tested at 1,463,700 Scoville heat units - making it one of the hottest chili peppers in the world! The scorpion peppers are indigenous in Trinidad and Tobago and today we’re going to try them out.
Big thank you to #visitTrinidad for inviting me to Trinidad and Tobago and for making this trip happen! Guide to the things and food in this video: visittrinidad....

Zaak (Foodie Tales with Zaak): / foodietaleswithzaak
Tony Chow Lin On - Chinese LAUNDRY: / tonychowlinon
Kerryann Sultan’s Pepper Farm in Cunupia - Our first stop on this ultra spicy food tour in Trinidad is Kerryann Sultan’s Pepper Farm, where they are responsible for growing some of the best scorpion peppers you’ll find. It was so cool to see the source and how they grow.
Bertie's Pepper Sauce ( / bertiespeppersauce ) - Hot pepper sauce is one of the joys of eating food in Trinidad and Tobago and so it was amazing to see the process of one of the best hot pepper sauces in Trinidad.
Quan Kep's Pork Shed (goo.gl/maps/6y...) - Next we’re heading over to Couva, Trinidad & Tobago, to Quan Kep's Pork Shed, know for their crispy fried pork and Trinidadian Chinese dishes. The food was amazing, the crispy pork and the hot peppers - and the fried pork with the Moruga scorpion chili. Chinese food is yet another cultural representation of Trinidadian food.
Sylvie's Roti Shop (goo.gl/maps/us...) - San Juan, Trinidad & Tobago - Finally to complete this extra spicy food tour we went to one of Zaaks favorite roti shops for rice and dal and accompanying dishes. And this is where I tasted the true power of the Trinidad scorpion - absolutely fire!!

I learned a lot about T&T tonight thanks to Mark Wiens!! To see a Chinese guy speaking with a Trinidadian accent was something special!! Diversity in it’s excellence☺️the best part though was the chilli farm and eating these super hot fruits, just amazing! As a long-time chilli grower (yes in Scotland!) I was totally enthralled as I’m currently growing same/similar superhots as well as mild/medium heat chillies right now…some I’ll freeze most I’ll dry and grind to powder….like Mark I love my heat!🥵

Each Island has developed their own dynamic of meshing. TnT is truly one of a kind.

I use to suffer from huge loneliness feeling. And so I discovered that spicy food, especially when it burns, bring me some kind of presence inside me.
There are natural foods, which give the pleasure of the raw nature
There is salt, vinaigar, olive oil, which bring tastiness.
And when it begins to be hot, it begins to fill your heart and warm your brain, with black pepper, hot red peppers.
It works with others "painful" food, as French strong mustard, or Japanese wasabi.
The gustative pain can be something like you do not feel the loneliness, and this is a sweat feeling when you do miss someone with you.

I made a traditional Jamaican pepper sauce with it , it had some carrots and mangos and it blow my mind , it was good , I'm going to make another batch when I get time , I think organic apple cider vinegar is the best vinegar for hot sauce , gives it a nice kick
