You are the man when it comes to clean an we'll maintained wheels. My BMW has very intricate 5 spoke wheels which are a pain to get into all the nooks and crannies. I have just seen a microfibre glove with individual fingers which should help a lot on the fine detail. I use Hydro 2 Lite after every wash and it is amazing for repelling water and makes the next cleaning a dream. Happy Christmas...

The Hydro2 is indeed a smart and simple step to add to the post cleaning regimen. It appears you took care to primarily apply it to the rim/barrel of the wheel, but it looks like it gets on the tire sidewalls as well. When would you apply a tire coating such as Perl ... on intermediate washes when not using the Hydro2? Do you ever apply the Hydro2 to the painted surface of the body? Is it your favorite among the spray on, pressure wash off sealants?
On a side note ... your channel and videos rank right up there among the best ... keep it up!

As always, great info and video. Constantly on the look out for my new video notification from your channel. I just received in the mail today a new 3pc set of wheel woolies by Blue Devil. Going to try them out this weekend, along with some of your tips of course! Happy holidays to you and your family!

Hello Sandro. Hope you had a great Christmas. Just wanted to give you an update on the Blue Devil wheel woolies. I used them on polished aluminum 4x4 wheels and had no complaints whatsoever. The handles are nice and sturdy with a comfortable rubber grip at the base. The sheepskin woolies are extremely plush and could not damage the most sensitive of finishes even if you tried. They also hold way more than plenty enough suds and soap for any size wheels with only one dunk in the soapy wheel bucket. They were well worth the 26 U.S. dollars I spent on them. Hope you find this info helpful and have a great new year!

Iron fallout removers are generally ph neutral which arent harmful to the protective finish of the wheels. Infact the ph neutral soaps with agitation wont break down ferrous metals much at all therefore you will have a buildup over time of metal deposits unless you attack your wheels with a claybar alot. The iron fallout remover simplifies the process and has never shown deterioration on any wheel finish. Its the best prewash solution for wheels.

Let it dry on the wheel amd see what happens

There are reasons why it is not recommended to let it dwell for an extended timeframe on a vehicle.
      1. Some people would be using this on a car with not so good paint where some of the metal is exposed. The chemical will eat away at the metal the longer it sits encouraging rust.
      2. When used on wheels, it will get on rotors. The majority of rotors on vehicles are cheap cast iron. The chemical will just damage the rotor the longer it sits. This is why it's encouraged to not aim for the rotors directly when sprayed on wheels even though some of the chemical will get on the rotor. Some rotors come with a protective coating which helps however the protective coating is not present on the entire rotor and the exposed sections will still get damaged by the chemical.
If you just use this chemical only on exposed areas that consist of paint then letting it sit for a long time will just harden on the surface as it dries. You will have to use lots of water to loosen it up off the paint inorder to rinse it off. It won't stain the finish.

I wonder if there is any dedicated hi pressure air system for car detailers, i know you can use a small air compressor with the right air tip like say a pointed round nozzle to blow out most of the water off the rims that way your not touching them later other than a quick microfiber towel to wipe them down with say a spray on rim or mag wheel protection system . :) Just like they say the less you touch them the less micro swirls you will have on any painted surface. :)
I have seen people use leaf blowers and go over the complete car after a snow foam wash and rinse. :)

      7071t6
If you want to do large areas of the car then yes a leaf blower is best. If you want to do small fine areas then use a small blower such as Xpower A-2 Arrow. Its $50 at alot of online retailers even Home Depot.

Hi Sandro, thanks for another great video. I’m a big fan of your TH-cam channel. I’m looking to experiment and find a cleaner to use for my wheels with a foam cannon. I was looking at trying either meguairs degreaser, carpro Reset or carpro multi-x. Which product do you think would work best for wheel cleaning with a foam cannon and what dilution ratios would you recommend trying in the cannon for this purpose?

I just bought a 2012 L322 Range Rover. I don't think the wheels have ever been washed. Ever! They are PVD Onyx Chrome the finish looks just like yours, anyway. In the barrel there is so much grit, tar, junk embedded in the wheels and the part of the wheel u see is full of scratches. My question is how do I go about de-burring my wheels to get them clean. As well as removing scratches in the PVD coating. I will have to remove the wheels they're so full of brake dust. A standard cleaning won't help at all. Thx for any advice.
