Good man Matt. Some of my best memories are of going to see the mighty Quo with my old man! 😊 I was at this one too… my pals went to LP but glad I stayed. My last time seeing Rick Parfitt hammer this one out.
From the first time I saw em at Cardiff Castle in 1978, they were my favourite band..to see Rick there, back to the amps and sawing away on the high G? Man, he was fucking awesome.
Rick, one of my two "backs to the stack" heros the other being Malcolm. I miss you both so much. Dear World, just listen to this at full volume just once in your life.
I was at this gig, and was rather mortified to see my mug in the crowd in a few shots. Bought a fall out boy shirt 3 hours before, and it was swiftly ripped apart by the end of this gig. Good times, and very grateful I got to see them in this lineup!
That bass player is untouchable. It’s not many chords in each song but he always links them together, doesn’t always stay in the same range, goes an octave higher. He’s very high in the mix and that’s why cos he’s shit hot
Wish I could just play a boring, uninspired 12 bar blues and make loads of money. It's bizzare to me how people pay money to hear this formulaic dog shit.
Alors là!.... Le QUO a rarement sonné aussi bien que sur cette version de Caroline! Ray Parefit était vraiment un rythmicien exceptionnel... Bravo, respect!

IF anyone in the whole wide world, and USA I suppose, needs to witness a pounding, loud, professional and just plain rock and roll band..? Then just listen to their albums, singalong and what a lot of belting music....IF you can get to see them live, then do not hesitate.. Book the tickets and enjoy the tremendous sound of the QUO... THE BAND that the USA lost or never knew.. GB does it again...
First saw Quo in 1973, they were playing Norwich, found out they were on by chance, my mate and I went down to the hall on spec, it was sold out, got chatting to a guy who came out, turned out he was their engineer, found out we were two RAF lads, he invited us inside we sat with him at his kit and watched the concert for free, love Quo.
Got to watch a Van Halen concert in Long Beach , California from the side when I was US Navy shore patrol and we were there to pick up a drunk sailor, the local police invited us to stay, even the drunk didn’t mind. That was 1978 and I wish it would have been Quo!!
Norwich Theatre (where I saw Deep Purple, and Wishbone Ash), or more likely St Andrews Hall? (Where saw The Stranglers, King Crimson, Curved Air, The Feelgoods, Hawkwind, etc., in the seventies) Terrible acoustics, but conquered by King Crimson with the biggest PA bins I'd ever seen at the time!
