Sometimes it is so worth it to revisit older videos :D Thank you so much for all the work that went into this and for making me laugh a lot :D (yes the owl, fight club and many other tidbits) Nothing to brighten up a dreary work day as a bit of board game humor that even transports rules as well! Have a great day or rather have plenty of them! .... and now off to Dawn of Madness - wonder how you will tickle some fun out of that :P
I'm 58 seconds in and loving everything you've said. I paused it just to write this comment, especially because I used the magnifying glass last night to look at the rules...
Always love these when they come out. You pack so much entertainment into such an informative series that i end up watching these even for games i havent backed!
Anyone who has taught or presented will know that humour will enhance learning and messaging, its a memory association thing, how do you recall lists of things? you associate them with humourous images or situations.
This is an amazing series of vids! I found them immensely more helpful to learn the rules than either the rulebook or the official rules overview vids. One small suggestion I would make is to not be self-deprecating in the title, these videos are neither long nor rambling. As someone looking for "how the heck do I play this slightly frustrating game", already a bit exhausted, I skipped this video originally because it said it was a "long, rambling look" while it's actually a quite well structured "how to play" or "rules overview" and had to have someone else recommend it to me for me to dive in.
Thanks for the feedback. I originally titled it How to Play, but got quite a bit of backlash. Lowering expectations with a more modest title seems to have solved the problem.
This is so, so, so good. Subscribed and will watch anything you do, whether I'm interest in the game or not. That's Monty Python level cleverness in your writing, especially enjoyed the turn order bit.
Very well produced and funny instructional video that still somehow manages to be the best explanation video for 7th citadel that I've watched. Thanks for teaching and making me laugh at the same time! 💯Great job!
Very good video. I know 7th Continent darn well but you got me with the Gameplay Structure, I was seriously listening till you made it obvious it was a joke 😂 thanks fir the laugh!
Great job! I loved the ISS Vanguard videos, so I thought I'd give this series a try too. I don't have 7th Citadel, but a friend does, and this'll help me play. I like the fact that you put in some humor, but I might turn down the number of jokes a bit. They're best when used as occasional comic relief, rather than all the time. Anyway, love the content, keep it up! (edit: my friend *will* have it, rather)
I really like your videos and the tongue in cheek humor that makes the learn to play so much more enjoyable. What would be the best way to contact you as a boardgame creator/publisher? I have not found any contact info anywhere on your youtube channel, but we would like to get in contact.
Thanks for reaching out, Andreas. I'd be happy to chat, and have (belatedly) added my email address to the info/description, on the channel home page. Talk soon.
Your videos are just the best. Seriously! I guess it took you 1 full day to do those 3 videos (1 full day in the north pole I mean). But I will comment and like only the first video for one reason only. You were too lazy to show how combat works and it was the only reason I was watching those videos to start with. Shame on you! Other than that, well, SeriousPoulp should pay you to make these officials.... but shame on you!
This is all wrong! I shouldn't be watching this, I should reading the rulebook on the other side of the ocean. Yet you come to us players with revelations of rules. How dare you? You have ruined all future tutorials of all future games, and games past, with your guiding words and your humor. I am truely one of the lucky ones. Thanks mate!
2:28 and 4:35 all the Action cards have a number in bottom left and all are of the form Axxx. How the hell am I supposed to distribute which cards to Brooks? You completely do not explain this. in 8:25 you seem to imply that the blue cards with a B letter in the top left are for Brenda. There are 6 variations (from top left icons): A, B, C, D, X and Continent or whatever that last one is called. And I was looking at the A-numbers in BOTTOM left - there are only A cards not B, C, or D. The A in bottom left probably stands for Action (action card)...
Hi, sorry to hear you're having problems with the card ID's. As far as I can tell, you probably don't need to refer to the (tiny) codes in the bottom corner, when setting up (and playing) the game. To be clear, I'm just another backer - like you - trying to make sense of the game. I only had a PDF of the rulebook (not a copy of the game) when I made these videos, so - as you say - they're not very good. There's a much better official video, and I'll leave it to the pro's, in future.

I totally agree! I want a short video that effectively accomplishes its purpose (teach me the game) this video is graphically very well done but the lame dad jokes are totally unnecessary, annoying and prolong the video unnecessarily. I'm literally starting to feel embarrassed anf crigne when I hear how lame it is.
Well done, Love the production quality and your humor.
This needs to be the official tutorial, love your approach and literally has me laughing
Agreed, Serious Poulp are missing a great opportunity here to collaborate.

Gosh, thanks for your kind comment. (And good timing, as I'm about to start a 7th Citadel campaign myself).

Hahahahahaha that dry sense of humor and the funny owl at 2:20 😝😆🤣
This quality stuff. You, sir, have earned my subscription and my respect!

Thanks - that's cool to hear!
Extremely well done, and I really appreciate you making up your own content to avoid spoilers! Ignore the humor haters, you be you.

Fantastic production, humor, etc. +1 subscriber here!

@@adventuresincreativesoftwa6283 that sucks. seems like a great how to play to me!
this video is even funnier the second time around! 😂
La découverte pendant mon petit déjeuner de cette vidéo ennuyeuse, trop simple, trop claire et avec trop d'humour me contraint à m'abonner.

Great video!! Looking forward to part 2 😂
How come this isn't the official? Watched your ISS vanguard yesterday, was wonderful too
Thank you!!!

Brilliant video delivery!! ❤ it Amazing!!! A New fan & subscriber 👍
This is great!
Outstanding video. Congratulations.
Brilliant !
If only we can play now :D
Thank you for being funny and informative. Keep at it.. You can become a small fish 😅😊
Lol... that is the dream!
While the humor is appreciated, this was definitely not the short tutorial I was looking for.

Chill a bit with the humour(Which is very clever) and it s perfect. Not very easy to learn like that .
I can't find your comparison between citadel and continent
Yeah, I meant to say "at the end of this video series", but mistakenly said "at the end of this video." You'll find it at the end of Part 3.

Very high production values in this tutorial, but the excessive amount of humor gets a bit in the way of learning the game and confuses me 🙂
