"I literally love all of Targon. Everything about Targon."
It's finally confirmed. Snnuy loves that Targon abuses elusives.

There are 2 kinds of SI player. The like the play style of the region - kill your units for better rewards, ephemerals, undying printer, or the ScREw tHe OppOnENT - Vengeance, soul harvest, Ruination, hate spike, kill everything they play. Which one are you ;)))

I love how Targon is top and Ionia is bottom despite they essentially both have Elusive and Cockblocking spells (hush, obliterate and spellshield is just as cancer as any deny variant) 🥴 to protect their cancer units

    • @walvens3080
      @walvens3080 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Targon at least does get payoff from stopping your board from existing - Ionia has champs like Ahri and Yasuo who's entire playstyle revolve around preventing you from playing the game at all, while Targon only does it to actually win the game
Yes they're both bad, but Ionia is worse in the ways that matter.

This is why I love this game! My list would be COMPLETELY flipped, (except Bilgewater, I’d keep it there) but I think that’s a good thing. This game gives everyone something to be proud of playing, while having enough balance to keep each play style in check as well.

I understand not liking Ionia, but I also don’t like how he always says it’s stupid and easy because “you just press recall on the unit thats killing you lmao its so easy”. Hate to break it to you Snnuy, but that’s how all removal/interaction in this game works-you point the spell at the unit that’s bothering you.

Agree with Targon being a God tier: to begin with that region has
    - Ezreal's husbando
    - A child who is responsible of darkins' existence
    - Her grandfather who's a giant celestial doragon (which can throw an infinite number of troops... and level 2 champions, according to ASol adventure in PotC)
    But most importantly...
    - MANTHEON

I think the rating should be based on how each region is loyal to it's theme / goals, which will make ionia actually a good region since it has clear strengths and weaknesses, while PNZ would average or bad since they have weird cards like sump monument.

Avarage: Demasia(Good effects good stats), Bilgewater(hunters I guess), Freljord(Poro..?, Maybe Lissandra), Bandle City (It wouldve been Higher if I was more lucky playing mushroom deck)

Here's my opinion of regions that I have the most fun with
    God: Freljord, Targon
    Good: Bilgewater, Demacia, Shadow Isles
    Average: Shurima, Noxus
    Bad: PnZ
    Awful: Ionia
    Didn't play: Bandle City
    Reasonings:
Freljord - Just having a large force of units with strong stats is satisfying for me
Targon - I have a large fun with Celestial and Dragon decks
Bilgewater - Mostly for Scouts, Deep, and Lurk decks
Demacia - It may be simple but they are good secondary/support region
Shadow Isles - It's fun playing with entemporal (I forgot the spelling) and Fearsome decks
Shurima - I do like playing it but it feels not so impactful as I wanted it to be
    Noxus - Same as Shurima
PnZ - It's a bit of mess to work with
Ionia - Elusives, Stuns, and Irelia. You don't need to know the main details
Bandle City - Didn't play with in my deck, yet

It's something I generally accept about all of runeterra because every region has some fun killer-
But fuck if targon leaning into these silences as part of like - the core game loop of playing in targon -
I truly consider leaving the match when I see the region now, I think for the same reason Minimorph has always been more aggravating than just a straight up vengeance, losing a buff boy you've been carefully protecting all game at BURST FUCKING SPEED honestly makes me rage, and to make it worse, silence cards don't just like, annihilate your buff boy, they strip them of their buffness first so it's just insult to injury feeling for no reason.
And honestly I will never enjoy a Fizz just Moonlit Afflictioning into a win
I get it might be fun for the other player and might be balanced and all that - but Moonlit Affliction (Used to be Minimorph when the minitee couldn't block) is the Pinnacle of the one thing I do genuinely hate about this game (that I otherwise love) which is that for some reason this game LOVES to give players the power to remove agency from each other.
At least most of the other forms of it aren't at BURST SPEED - and so fucking niche/difficult to directly counter that youre just basically guaranteed to have to suck it up and deal with the silence making those units dead or useless that turn
And like I know I have personal shit that makes it so these kinds of spells make me tilt more than normal but I can't imagine anyone but the people playing burst silence find it actually fun to play around
Like I will never find a stun, an elusive, frostbite or even a kill card as fucking obnoxious as I find those burst silences because for all of those, I have OPTIONS to counter them that don't leave the afflicted unit entirely useless to you. And I know technically you'd need a deny, spell shield or like, swap these cards places to get out of a vengeance, which is pretty niche, and when I was new to the game and thought it was the worst thing out there, I hated vengeance too, but I gotta pick my useless hills to die on and HEY - at least you get the opportunity to play a deny, spell shield, etc against a vengeance!

    • @mricognito8553
      @mricognito8553 ปีที่แล้ว +1

even though I disagree i enjoyed hearing your opinion
this is more of a nitpick than anything but I would really like to know why you think frostbite is more interactive than silence
from my point of view frostbite is objectively the more defensive mechanic
with silence you your opponent still keeps his base stats so the damage done still depends on a core attribute of the card but for frostbite that's not the case anymore
and if you feel cheated for losing your unit because it loses its health i would like you to remember that even though your opponent is playing defensive, he still should be able to swing back at you if he set up the opportunity to do so
in this case having (most likely) a unit to trade into or a damaging spell in the right moment
that's what I mainly wanted to have a discussion about

    • @bambirose8896
      @bambirose8896 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@mricognito8553I had my opinion changed on frost bite a while back when someone pointed out it only takes a +1|0 to buff any frostbitten unit (besides quick attack and Life steal) back into a not just playable but pretty useful state where not only can it block against a leveled Ash, but any "on strike" effects come back into play. Not to mention Ash being a killable unit and not a burst speed spell I can't do anything to stop- I simply have the option to make the afflicted cards playable again in many /many/ different regions, decks and builds. Where as my silence counter options are much more preventative or like, removal based. Not reactive and allowing of my fun cards and their fun cards to interact with each other. And it's (imo) because of the burst speed. To make sure I'm being totally clear, I'm only complaining about /burst speed/ silences. Sunburst and all that don't bug me- and honestly Hush bothers me far less than Affliction. It's truly the burst speed 5 cost 2 units "can't block" that grates me, hush is a victim of my extended rage at the word "silence" also being on that card.
But, to entertain the question/conversation further
W/ silence I'd have to carry spell shields and preemptively place them, or choose targon and carry Mikhaels. Or plan to basically just, annihilate what ever their trying to kill my silenced unit with with a deny or removal spell of my own. Neither of which I personally find super fun, so I'm rarely carrying them (part of the personal issues that make dealing with these silences worse for me than I assume other players lmao).
I don't think I totally understand your point about HP, because yes, that is part of why I think silence is worse - seeing as a frost bitten 0|x up from a squishy unit can still survive and block an overwhelm w/ even just 1 less then x power. And if I am understanding you correctly and your saying I could just buff the hp of my silenced unit into it surviving and having further use on later turns then I'd say your totally right on the front of Hush. I still think there are less region options for HP buffs than Attk buffs so it's still more limiting but it isn't so hush counter specific. But I will stand by that Affliction sucks to play against because unless you pre packed a counter, your just stuck giving them a big swing and sacrificing extra value to survive it, often much more then the cost of what it would take to buff you out of a frost bite jam in my experience.
A burst silenced unit loses it's ability to punch back in any meaningful way, often it's ability to survive at all and ever gain use from again, and in some cases even /block/ w/ little to no possible retaliation for the unit silenced, so played at the right moment, there's just really nothing you can do to stop it.
Maybe it's a me problem because my core play style centers on usually taking squishies w/ fun abilities and buffing my board over the course of the game, but silence ALWAYS fucks over what ever unit it is played on for me
I agree frost bite is a more defensive mechanic, that's part of why I prefer it and prefer to play against it. Silence, recently, I've seen mostly being played offensively to actively get unit kills or nexus dmg. W/ frostbite I never feel like the other player is actively fucking me over in a "gotcha, what now?!" moment, vs a my turn, your turn back and forth. Again because there just are so many options that are reactive over preventative to counter frost bite, even when it's used at burst since I get the opportunity buff the unit back up before the attack goes through. With silence, there's really no buffing it back into a playable or survivable state unless you took those preventative measures. So w/ silence it feels like you either have to plan your deck around predicting and countering it, or just let it happen. Particularly with Affliction - again I will totally concede there are more counters to hush and it's more interactive than my initial comment gave it credit for, but it's still less easily so across regions and playstyles than FB imo

    • @mricognito8553
      @mricognito8553 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@bambirose8896 what i tried to say about HP was part of the point that imo silence is somewhat aggressive in nature and it seems like you you actually understood what I was trying to say
i have to give the point of on hit mechanics to you when it comes to frostbite vs silence but on that front i personally think that this is one of the aspect that make this mechanic unique
making things unable to block is in my eyes a different mechanic but im willing to talk about that too
i personally like it because im not really a fan of limited board space and being robbed of the ability to do any meaningful damage against decks like portals without resorting to elusives (which wouldn't even really work) or overwhelm and thankfully we have brash now too
but i still think, especially for targon, without making things unable to block, the region would resort even more to elusives than it already does
i wouldn't classify it as not interactive either
to get that effect first of you need to activate the nightfall which requires another burst spell if you really want to complain about having no time to react to it
that is more or less half your mana gone for one swing and you actually get to react to the swing itself
what i want to add to this is the essential something like priority cheating in the form of summoning more units for a smaller amount of time than it would actually take
so its the opposite of burst speed summoning (probably much stronger though as you cant summon anything once your board is full, which im actually a fan of because of as mentioned beforehand its an alternative to elusives for a win con)
my last point would be that i think that losing to silences when all you are trying to do is to buff a unit so it can finish the game is your your own fault in that case because that is exactly the thing that silence is supposed to do:
countering that sort of playstyle and even then you are given options for counterplay in the form of spellshield
(which i know isnt as reliable as you want it to be because all you really need is a second burst speed spell to get rid of it)
but i think if you make your win con a buff unit that with a game winning keyword like elusive or overwhelm but refuse to use the option to protect it in the form of spellshield, that's on you

    • @bambirose8896
      @bambirose8896 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@mricognito8553 I see your point about Silence being a good win con for targon that allows them more independence instead of leaning on other regions or taking up card slots on providing themselves overwhelm, Elusives, spells etc. And you're right that silence is built to counter my play style,
(But I'll be honest if I saw a respectable Targon player using it the way you describe I don't think I'd hate it so much, it's usually elusive teemo decks or the bloody fizz deck I still get agro at even tho it's been nerfed lol)
And you're saying its on me for not packing spell shield but that's kind of my whole point, silence doesn't allow multiple playstyles to counter it where other "shut down x unit in some annoying fashion" cards do. Even with vengeance if I'm not running denys it's still a fast spell so I either already got the blocking value out of the unit or I can replace it on the following turn-
We seem to on the same page that Spell shield is one of the only real viable direct counters to affliction and not just the swing following affliction-
So rn in standard there are really only 2 regions w/ access to spell shield Shurmia and Targon (technically bandle city has Yummi and Owl Cats which I just don't think count for the purpose of this Convo)
Let's just say I am in targon, and I do happen to have one of the burst spell shields, because of the nightfall aspect of Affliction it's not actually any more reactive than Shurmian spell shields since I still have to play in anticipation/prediction of the Affliction because it's at burst. In fact, if I'm lucky and they don't prock nightfall with duskpetal, then it would be cheaper to play the shurmiam shooth sayer than the Targon burst. And thats as close as I can get to a "response" to Affliction but it's still a predictive/preventative measure. And it locks me into one of two regions and some very limited play styles.
And if I don't have the spell shield, now A THIRD of my board is non-interactive with nothing I can do about it. (And that's IF my board is full). If I want more interaction at that point, again, I'd need to be playing a more removal based play style or maybe frostbite. The nature of the card is to remove my ability to interact with the upcoming big swing unless I want to just obliterate my own units and replace them - which is usually not worth it. And that's again, if I even get the chance to play units- to the point I could refill my board +2 which just, will never happen
It's not my fault I don't have a spell shield any more than it's your fault you don't have a deny for vengeance or something. If it isn't your play style you shouldn't be punished for not carrying it by the meta -
That's why I hated Ryze decks when he was everywhere, the game became "pack land mark removal, go agro or get fucked" now that he's not everywhere I don't mind him so much cause you're not constantly getting punished for not being in the mood to play his counter.
Which is my primary complaint with silence at large. I bet you money it's super fun and feels super like, 5D chess when you play hush correctly and fuck over their card when they ran their manna low etc.
But it'll never not suck to have one of the popular cards in the meta/your rank/whatever be a card you either have to build your deck around including a counter too/not being fucked over by- or just accepting you will be fucked over by it. Because then it isn't just removing agency from its individual match, the card is impacting every match you que into regardless of whether it's even in that region or not because you have to pack the counter just incase- and of course as soon as you start packing counters and playing outside your fun zone just for the wins, your que luck changes and suddenly there's no more of what ever card you wanted to counter in the first place lmao 😂
It's not a bad or unfair card, it's just a fun killer that I personally find to be the current most obnoxious to play againt and prevalent in a way that makes it even worse imo

I feel some heavy bias here, Shurima did do landmarks right, but if Ionia has to answer for the sins of the past, how does Azirelia, Kai'Sa, Mono-Shurima and a stronger deny than ionia that is run in every deck, also with tons of cheap spellshields not get the region much lower? Shurima is VERY fun to play, but it is by FAR the closest to an anti-fun region after Ionia.
Tbf I like all regions and idm any playstyle since I mostly play counter-meta stuff so I love people playing the same deck all the time, I just can't ignore the discrepancy here

    Alright: targon, shurima, bilgewater
    Bad: demacia, ionia
    Worst: frejlord
Starting off with shadow isles.. it holds my absolute favourite archetypes and cards. I am a massive self slaying lover, kindred nasus, and phantom prankster aggro are my favourite decks of all time. And vaults is my favourite standard deck. I'm also a massive fan of viego decks.
I think they have the absolute coolest supporting cards that enable cool playstyles like phantom prankster and vaults. I'm not the biggest fan of the "just removal" shadow isles, like FTR and heimer jayce bore me to death.
Now when it comes to the good tiers, I also like combo decks. For pnz its mainly the recent seraphine decks they recently killed, that being seraphine samira and seraphine mirai one shot.
For noxus, samira is my favourite champ in a while. Love the fast flexible playstyle, I love tybaulk decks they're amazing.
And bandle just has good combo enablers although be it broken at times. Condense is fun, norra is super fun with viego to turbo level her off of created cards. Other than that its the support region I like, hate the swarm decks.
Shurima gets hard carried by nasus which gets hard carried by shadow isles. But I also like ekko jinx decks and it undeniably has some of the best meme cards. Targon is the perfect middle ground, nothing I particularly like, nothing i dislike either. My favourite decks were zoe viktor stuff. Bilgewater has some fun cards, as mentioned I love mirai but that carries the region. Everything else is just good but nothing spectacular.
I find ionia and demacia kind of boring, the only demacia deck I've enjoyed recently is vaynetrox due to the combo nature of it. And i liked lee sin decks in the past, not a fan anymore.
And frejlord.. i dont know man, ftr is boring, I don't like ramp, I don't like the board decks or the spell decks. Nothings interesting.

burst speed but it's only way for that region to survive and it not like recalling or silencing that all your buffs are gone no HP still stays any passive that unit has stays and u don't have to spend mana (m)y to play

@@savosavic1222 I don't care for the frejlord buff cards, not my typa decks at all. Same with the healing and slow playstyle. Forgot about howling abyss, nothing would change ab the ranking. Howling abyss shenanigans the only time I'd consider slotting in frejlord.

everyone complains that freljord is bad but like, I don't think people realize what freljord being good looks like
it looks like everything is frozen, then they just buried in ice the moment you get rolling, and you're sad. you get shit that's half as big as their biggest shit and then your shit can't do anything because it's frozen solid and oopsy they can't die
None of that WORKS well because it's not GREAT but if it ever IS good, it's HORRIBLE. It's just Ionia but more combat focused.

    My tierlist:
    *God: PNZ*
My favorite champ in the game is seraphine, second favorite is Karma. Actually my favorite champion is Back Alley Bar but that's not a real champ sadly. PNZ just has ALL the coolest cards and ideas. Card draw, cost reduction, and card creation are all super fun. Seraphine duplication makes it even more amazing. Glorious evolution and viktor in eternal are suuuper fun cards.
    *Good: Ionia, BC, Bilge, SI*
Ionia is in Good tier and not God because Ionia itself is sometimes elusive cringe, and it's almost always OP or useless. Also Ahri Kennen existed and that was miserable. But I like most other ionia decks, and Ionia gets points for having Karma.
I like the "infinite value" part of Bandle (especially cards like condense and eternal Mirror Mage). The Tristana part of bandle is kinda boring, but it's the coolest of the boring midrange/aggro decks.
Bilge and SI are just good, nothing to complain about but not amazing.
    *Meh: Shurima, Noxus, Targon*
I don't like playing against Rite of negation. That's it. (Yes I know this is slightly hypocritical since Deny exists, but I play Karma so I get to play deny mwahahaha). Also Shurima has created some of the most toxic metas in history, like Kaisa, Azirelia, Mono Shurima
Noxus aggro is cringe, and noxus control with flock is also kinda annoying to play against, but at least more fun.
I don't actually dislike Targon, but I didn't play invoke back when it was really good, and targon is just.... meh.
    *Bad: Demacia, Frejlord*
Frejlord would've been in Awful if not for its cool ramp decks, but frejlord is just sooooo boring and useless.
Demacia is just midrange and midrange is cringe imo. (the fact that demacia is good vs karma and seraphine decks doesn't help its case)
Nothing in Awful because every region has some redeeming qualities.

If you're playing Demacia and you don't have a board, then you're not playing Demacia. The whole point is, "our minions are chunky and get useful keywords". There's barely any text or intricate mechanic. Play good stats, buff a bit, bully opponent for their lunch money

  • @joaobrito2653
    @joaobrito2653 ปีที่แล้ว

I will always have hatred for piltover because of ezreal seraphine and backalley bar. Ezreal has been uninteractive BS ever since the play cast merging, seraphine’s level up used to be 6 spells for some reason(?) and bar was just complete BS that made it feel like your opponent could always pull a random answer to your deck out of their ass. Cool region but god does it have awful cards

Bandle city literally made me quit the game for good and I am never coming back. It just showed me the massive misunderstanding of design that Riot has for this game IMO. It would always just get less fun the longer it goes on.
