      Yasuo should be one of the easiest champions. Simple kit, easy to farm with, not too complicated combos, a w that legit blocks like 70% of most mage's damage, high mobility and amazing in teamfights cuz his r shreds armor. I mean he can be punishing but his kit is very much one of the easiest to understand.

    • @Minizu4

      aphelios is one of the easiest champions to play. He has great sustain with severum (the pistol), push potential with infernum (flame thrower), good harass and safe farm tool calibrum (the rifle that grants him like 600 attack range), can cc with his gravitum (gravity gun), has insane dueling potential with chakram cuz if they get too close you just run them over cuz of the scaling attack speed and his sentry which is also amazing. He does not need to click any buttons aside from w, aa, and r. That's two less buttons to click, although you need to manage your ammo and learn what weapons to use for what it's really not that hard to pick up.

      He is still so extremely weak and over nerfed in solo queue right now that you must have down and utilize his kit very effectively to keep up with the AVERAGE ADC champs in the majority of matchups.
      You are most often playing at a disadvantage and must be competent and confident enough in the role to use Aphe's utility and your superior micro(/macro) to come up with the outplays to be useful.
      I agree that getting down his gun order and kit isn't as difficult as it looks intimidating to newcomers. If they're committed to practicing it enough, anyone should have it down eventually-it just takes time.
      So I think the video and other comments-unlike yours- are wrong to focus on the gun order as the difficult part. It's how to utilize him competently in spite of his current weak position that becomes the demanding part. Sorry for getting so tangential under your comment.

    I still believe that people that call Aphelios the hardest champion didn't even try him out. Aphelios is easy - the hardest part is spacing which is just... an adc thing, not Phel exclusive. He is surprisingly easy to understand and learn.

      @callmeshifu4114 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Phel isn't that mechanical of a champion, which is reflected by his surprisingly low skill floor, but playing him well requires you to actively think about weapon and ammo management as well as using every weapon to the maximum (like hitting every green mark or knowing how to use white turret and stacks), which translates to a high skill ceiling.

    • @slavchems4759
      @slavchems4759 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      yep, mechanically he's not different from other adcs, i'd say draven is harder mechanical wise, the hard thing with phel is how much micromanagement u need to do in order to play him well, like do i get rid of this weapon? or should i save it? do i have enough ammo to actually do a full damage chakram or no? and thinking down to his passive like, do i max out the attack speed or ad first? all while playing an adc one of the hardest role in the game

    As a long suffering Azir main I must say you kinda missed the ball on why he's difficult. It's not his combos that make him difficult, they can all be learned with enough practice and eventually the ol' Shurima Shuffle will come naturally. It's the fact that you have to micro up to 4 different soldiers and yourself, whilst simultaneously dealing with both the hardest parts of being a marksman (kiting and positioning) and the hardest parts of being a mage (ability usage and cooldown management).

    In some places the list feels accurate but in some places not and i think thats based on the voters ranks. As mentioned some champs skill floors and caps won't show until certain ranks. Ive never been higher than silver and some plays would absolutely not fly in a plat game, making some champs switch to the other side of the list. Typically high ranked players also have more knowledge about the game itself making "easy" champs for them possibly very difficult for lower ranks.

      Indeed, Bard is hard. You have to position yourself well to stun enemies with Q, place his W in a good place and explain what it does, use portals reasonably, so no one will die of teleporting straight into the enemy and his ultimate requires 200 IQ to make a plan on the fly about what you want to do with it AND you have to execute it well, otherwise you can make your team lose a fight and it's entirely Bard's fault.

  • @averythegamer4949

    I'd argue that Kalista is harder than Aphelios. Sure he's hard because you need to time what guns you have for objectives and team fights, but after a bit you get used to it and can play him somewhat intuitively since he's just another adc at the end of the day regardless of how many tools he has. Kalista on the other hand has specific movement selections that no other champion has. Her passive alone is strong, but if you devote yourself and the hours and games to learning her tech, her passive truly unlocks and she becomes the actual hardest champion in the game. She has specific options you need to toggle on to get the most out of her because just attack move clicking will hold you back from her full power and limit your movement.
    Her skill floor FEELS pretty low, you pick her up, spend a few games getting used to her movement and have some success and think "oh this champion is easy" but then you look into mastering her and dig through videos to find actual guides for her and you realize she's actually completely insane. The learning curve of going from new to mediocre is already insane and putting what you've practiced in the tool into real games and getting consistent with it is extremely difficult but so damn rewarding.
    Here's a video of her movement and other technical skills by a player SIGNIFICANTLY better than me and really hammers home just how insane the champion can be if played at a competent level th-cam.com/video/m6nXpsw02ts/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bhUl0mKRP8KPypW3
    I think it's crazy that some people still think the Shuriman Shuffle is a hard tech when it's literally just timing a single button to get the most distance out of, but this Shadow Isles Slide requires precise timing for EVERY auto attack, changes timing when you buy attack speed items and level up, any changes in ping can throw off the timing, needs auto attack toggled on to perform consistently which means if you mistime it you start just WALKING and do no damage at all and lose your mobility until you input another attack command and get back into the rhythm of the slide AND this is all on a champion who has 2 buttons when alone and sometimes still 2 buttons when not alone. She is easily in the top 3 of hardest champions to master in the game just in terms of mechanics alone. The sheer difference of gameplay from when I had 20 games on Kalista and didn't know any of this tech to where I'm at after practicing it and getting mediocre, not even good, just mediocre, is like the difference between night and day.

Viego on the other hand is quite easy to understand but theoratically is the hardest to master since you need to master all of your enemies' champs. Aphelios is really easy. His passive is a paragraph, and his q is 5 different abilities, but you have to remember that his passive pretty much is his whole kit. He is the hardest to first time because to play him you need to understand gun rotation and gun combos, but a few games makes it pretty easy. He's mechanically very simple. He has no fancy combos (for the most part). It looks really complex due to the gun combos, and to someone who doesn't play him, it may seem impossible to understand, but it's not that hard. It would be interesting to see a new poll done where you ask the mains of that champion how hard they think he is, and compare that to what the rest of the community views that champion's difficulty as.

    I do think there needs to be a bit of clarification on whether they're evaluated on skill floor or skill ceiling. For example, Lee Sin has a fairly low skill floor compared to Yasuo and Riven, and so doesn't deserve to be that high on the list in that case, but his skill ceiling is much higher than Azir or Aphelios. (check out the best Aphel/Azir players, then look at the top Lee players)
    If the criteria was specified in the poll to be skill floor, I think the poll results would generally be similar, but there would be some differences--Aphelios, Lee Sin, and Zed would probably be much lower on the list since their skill floors aren't as insane as Riven/GP, for example

Sure, on a basis you can just walk up, press E and R for more damage and hold down rightclick to do damage with the occasional Q thrown in but that kind of gameplay will only hold up against players ranked somewhere in Iron 52. Realistically you need to be wary of CC into burst combos and need to know what champion you need to focus at what point of a fight and when to maybe disengage for a bit while deciding if you can use your W as an auto reset to get some additional burst damage or if you need to hold it to be able to survive a burst.

    Akali, Irelia, Katarina, Lee sin don't deserve their spot for sure. They are often seen as hard because you see flashy high mastery of them showing off what actually skilled player can accomplish with them.
    However they are easy to pick up, you are not punished for not knowing how to play them well like you are with Riven or Azir.
    I find it absurd riot is so akin to forcing "skilled" champs to not requiring practice to perform on them. Skilled champs should require practice to learn.
    They should be strong for those who put in the practice. Capable of unique and flashy moments. Yet not accesible to everyone.

You can get his guns down in less than 20 games and once the novelty wears off and you work out your optimal weapon rotation (red > white > green > purple/blue > blue/purple down to preference) you've already reached 80% of the champ's potential really.

    I main ADC, and Aphelios wasn't too hard to pick up. Of course playing any champion at a high level is difficult but I feel Aphelios was an easier champion to learn especially because of how straightforward and how 'no bs' his tooltips explaining the abilities were. Aphelios was a champion that looked complicated at first glance, and especially will give you a headache when trying to digest his kit for the first time mid-game. I believe the hardest champions are the ones that rely on each part of their kit's combo hitting in order to deal a suitable amount of damage in response to how much hp and mana (or energy) spent.

    Definitely think aphelion should be much lower than the likes of riven azir lee sin etc. Once you know the rotation of gun pairs and learn which fights to take or when to have which gun pair available he feels pretty straight forward imo. Nowhere near the pain in the ass of learning riven combos etc

    My question is, are they just mechanically the hardest or are they hard to play well? I'd say leona (as an example) is easy mechanically to learn but playing her well is another story. Being good at Leona requires you to know timing, basic spacing to stay healthy, ally awareness and good positioning to keep yourself ready to engage. More than other champions who are much safer but more complex mechanically id say she is harder to be good at since if you fuck up just a little you can absolutely ruin your entire lane for your team.

  • @reidmock2165

    I'm an Azir and Kog'Maw two-trick. I play the former when I'm looking for mental stimulation and the latter when I want to relax. I think one of the problems new players have when picking up Azir is that they treat him like a mage or an engager first and foremost, when in actuality he's best played as a backline DPS carry. The one thing which really elevated my Azir gameplay was cutting back on trying to pull off big flashy WEQR engage plays all the time and instead prioritizing R for peel (usually for self-peel, but often to peel for allies too; teamfights are a group effort) Sure, there's a time and place for the shurima shuffle, but you need to remember that Azir's strengths really lie in his teamfight DPS, so you should seriously value your own safety. A couple seconds of uninterrupted front-to-back W usage will completely turn the tide, even against tanks, so don't just force a flashy but stupid play whenever you see clumped enemies, particularly if your team isn't in a position to follow up or you're the only reliable source of damage on the team. (One of the nice things about Azir is that he can fulfill the purpose of an ADC in melting the enemy frontline, should your botlane prove themselves to be useless)

      Fiora? Nahhh, her kit is simple af, execution wise you really dont have to do much, just time the W correctly like Garen, proc weakness with Q or just wait till its in the right spot if you are laning, the R is pretty simple too, you dont even have to proc all 4 most of the time, just 2-3 would be enough damage. With correct builds you should be quite sturdy too, PLENTY of rooms for mistakes.

    • @hidesidehs5271
      @hidesidehs5271 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@vunguyenlong5738 Yeah. So easy to "just" time W correctly when half champs have either instacast on their CC or nuke ( you also need to know which one is worth parrying ) and its by miles more important to do so, in comparison to garen, who can almost ignore that spell. Hitting vitals isnt all that easy either with minions around and opponent kiting you, while you also have to keep in mind that W and you gotta dodge sht with you Q too, without comprimising its stab into vital.¨
      Dude. You make it sound like you start the game at 4 items, with one item lead on top and your lane opponent is always slow, low ranged control mage with telegraphed CC that you can run just whenever. Thats not your average experience. Your average experience is someone like trundle, who even if you put half item behind, will still statcheck you once he finishes DS even if you parry his Q and slow his AS and you hit everything.

    Imo there is a huge difference between an average and a really good trynda (fogged), ww (hornlime) and yi (sinerias) player on a mechanical lvl. Also garen has a few tricks aswell, like timing the w, aa reset or removing slows with q and the aa reset on r. Ofc I understand why they are on the list, but i think there are a lot of champs with the same difficulty as these while having a better reputation of being harder.

  • @superlad6684
    @superlad6684 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yeah, I agree w Akali being placed way too highly. The champ looks way too flashy for what it really is. She has the 3rd highest base HP regen in the game and you start d shield almost every match up, so with second wind, d shield, and just base hp regen, she is super forgiving and 90% of the time youll just out sustain your laner unless its like vlad or gragas. On top of that, her hardest counters are all super low pick rate champs like kassadin, taliyah, jayce, and vlad, so you rarely ever get put into a horrible match up. Her q takes a while to get used to the short range and knowing when youre close enough to poke, but other than that, super simple ability. Her W is literally just free invis in an area for a short amount of time, extremely broken. Her E is a free engage/disengage, depending on how you use it. Her R isn't hard to use either, point and click dash that deals damage and R2 is a free cast dash that also deals damage, which acts like another free engage/disengage.
