Fun Fact: The real Jennifer Lopez hated Trey Parker and Matt Stone because of this episode and threatened to fire any of her co-workers if they mimicked the Cartman Jennifer Lopez impression.
And prior to this episode the South Park creators actually wore Jennifer Lopez dresses at the 2000 Academy Awards which enraged Jennifer already. This episode was made in 2003.

The craziest part about this episode that I didnt find out until about 10 years later is that the hand puppet was based off of a real act that would show up on Johnny Carson: Senor Wences

It's crazy that Cartman couldn't resist his own will. He's almost like Scarface from the DC universe because his inner self created his own personality. It's a little bit like the psychologist with his identity crise but only with a hand puppet.

Lmfao I can't believe it took so long for us to get to this one, I remember watching this dozens and dozens of times in middle school. They aired it so much the Taco song almost replaced my schools national anthem....
"Kyles mom's a big fat stupid b" was the school anthem, yes I made it the school anthem after I got suspended for a week after singing it for the 4th time in a row to my friend Kyle... I may have gotten the other kids to join in... Kyle might not be my friend anymore. 😂

This was THE episode that got me into South Park. I'd seen the "You got served" episode before this, but that honestly traumatized me. It wasn't until one of my friends came to school with this dumb face drawn on his hand that I gave the show another chance and fell in love for life.
I think this was literally the first episode I ever saw.

This is going to sound bizarre, but Cartman’s ventriloquism act reminds me of Senor Winces, who was a famous ventriloquist whose most popular characters were Johnny (which consisted of Winces’ hand) and Pedro (who is a head in a box, and possibly the predecessor of Jose Jalapeño…on a stick)
Yeah, either Cartman is a world class Ventriloquist, or this is something similar to Oprah's talking parts.
