I'm in NE Texas, and I use cucumber peel whenever I see any in my raised metal cattle beds. Ants run away from cucumber peel. I freeze it when preparing a meal and then pull some out and sprinkle some on top and around the sides... next day they're all gone! Blessings, my dear sister, and happy gardening! 🙏✝️🛐💜
Im in Australia and fire ants have just invaded our island continent, so your “easy” non chemical method to eradicate them is invaluable. Thank you. Thankfully they haven't made it to our area yet but they are on the move.
Oh my goodness I'm so glad you came on. I couldn't remember your channel name to go back and check on how to and learn from. I'm writing it down this time 😊❤ Thank you so much for teaching us all Sister ❤😊
Debbie, my son Javan still has the scars from when he got into a fire ant colony when we lived in Florida. And I remember when working in a nursing home there, a little old man made his "escape" one day and we ran out to get him when the alarm to the door went off, but he was scared to move and was standing stock still in that fire ant colony and covered in ants before we got to him. That was terrible.
Thanks for a fantastic video. I will definitely remember the boiling hot water method as we also have sugar ants and red ants here in the southeast. I appreciate the information.
Enjoyed your video. Always a struggle with gardening. In NE Louisiana we usually have good rains in spring. By late June and July almost none. We had gotten some light rains in late July, but it really didn't go down very far. Now high temps and no rain and vegetable plants are dying and bugs are loving it. The soaking rains in spring are needed, but it makes it difficult to work or walk outside. You're compacting the soil to plant or thin seedlings. Frustrating.
We will be moving to Florida in the next few years. Ill be sure to keep watching😉
Im glad I found you. Your latest video about have a podcast have me balance.

Yeah, it can be frustrating. I work early mornings and I'm done by 9 or 9:30. Way too hot.
