I too had issues in the early days solved by the installer resetting a micro switch on the main control board inside the unit, unfortunately, I don't know which switch was changed. Cleaning the filters regularly keeps the heater performance up too. The faucets are all from the Delta Trinsic range. Thanks for watching and commenting, Tim.
Also is a good idea to run some water thru the machine before turning it on, that way any air in the system can be flushed out. God bless your home and family.
Fair point, Handy. The unit and system are already full of water and includes a basic air flush at each faucet, th-cam.com/video/vsmCQneeOrw/w-d-xo.html.
Nice video. So I noticed your removed the im assuming the drain plug on cold water line (blue valve). Can the same step be done on the other drain plug on the (red valve) side?
Thanks Albert. It is not necessary to drain the "(red valve) side" in the context of cleaning the filters. Probably best if you refer to the manual for guidance on other topics. Thanks for chipping in!
I have never had to purchase replacements but if you do; A quick check indicates many of the common pieces are available in the usual hardware stores as well as from online suppliers. However, you may want to check your owners manual to identify the parts for your specific unit first. I would do this after double checking the drainplug, filter and O ring seating. If that is all good then identify the part(s) and, please, come back and share your experiences, William. Good luck.
quick question....when I started to clean my filter, the filter part didnt move. The more I cleaned, it started to turn. Is that normal or should it not move at all. Did I break something?
Hi. My unit only have one filter located in the cold inlet. Instruction on manual doesn't say to turn off gas while draining and filter cleaning. Is it necessary? Thank You.
I have no hot water since yesterday. Do you think clean the water filter will make it work? “Stand by” light is on(red) and “in use” light just lit for like 1 sec when I restart the unit.
The manual,www.aosmithatlowes.com/media/1333/68a161.pdf, isn't very clear on that point. Let me take a look tomorrow and come back with more information for you.
Setting the time and the pump timers are covered in this manual, manuals.plus/on-demand/on-demand-540p-indoor-and-540p-outdoor-gas-tankless-water-heater-manual-pdf, on pages 52 and 53. Let me know if you solve the problem.
Thank you for this helpful video. I will be cleaning out the filters periodically now.

Where can you purchase new filters with the black caps? I cleaned mine and hand tightened them but there is a very slow drip, maybe 1 drip per minute.

Sounds like your unit is different to the A O Smith 540P. In that case it's probably best to follow the manufacturers instructions.

I don't honestly know. I am not an expert but cleaning the filters will not do any harm.
Is this problem cause no hot water?
I guess if the filters were never cleaned there may be a large build up of debris inside the unit but I don't know for sure.
@@PicRic OK thanks.
Good job bro!!! Thanks!!
Pleased to help. Thank you for watching and contributing.
