love it. alway love a “along for the fishin trip” style videos. i live in chicago and have always wanted to hit the big water but don’t dare risk it in my 14ft tin boat 😂 also damn that 4 four pounder was such a beautiful smallie
I haven’t even finished watching this video and I have to comment. I really enjoy watching it. Your respect for the fish and your good nature comes through very much here. It’s refreshing to see someone (you) just enjoying nature and appreciating the beauty of these little creatures that are so hard to catch. The rewarding feeling of fooling a fish into taking the lure gets a “woohoo, golly!” every time!
You make the viewer feel like they are in the boat with you. The way you talk and explain everything is awesome thank you so much. Blessings and a Big Merry Christmas.
Enjoyed watching you catch the smallies. I'm an ex-Ohioan living in NC. Used to come up to Erie and fish for Walleye and perch. Those perch are so tasty! Had a boat on the lake for a couple years and it does get quite rough more than not. Gland you left while getting leaving was good in that bass boat! Lake Erie was one of the best highlights of living in Ohio for sure.
Osu has really good research on catching smallies off bed in Lake Erie … every second matter on gobies destroying beds y on hook n hands …. Super interesting…… they can sometimes respawn and end up with fry
Love watching you fish man, keep doing videos like this!! I love your reviews and tips and tricks, but watching you put work on em and showing more of where and how you fish helps a lot! Keep your lines tight and your hooks sharp!!
I spent 25 years fishing and boating Lake Erie almost every weekend, all weekend. So many stories on what that lake can deliver, from fish to storms! Many of my guests have storm encounters etched into their memories years later, and that was on large boats. I never could get used to seeing bass boats far out in the lake, SMH!
I really enjoyed this style of video, Tyler. Would like to see you do more of these from time to time. But keep doing your instructional stuff! I'm a beginner (started earlier this year in May) and I've learned a bunch from watching you.
Good stuff! I like the actual fishing content part of the educational effort. A nice add to a video like this would be to tell us what you do to prepare/take caution in waters that scare the fire out of you when they get big. I have a few bodies of water like that in my home area that do the same to me. You look for those windows of calmness, but they are so far and few between, that you have to go when they are not perfect, so hearing what others due to prepare, and stay safe, when they are on the water like that would be helpful. Including, what is it that tells you, too much and it is time to get off the water (no matter how good the fish are biting).
Really nice scenic views on the water. Even the music you used added to the viewing pleasure. A Smallmouth Bass has eluded me thus far in my fishing career. Still looking for a place near where I live (Lou KY) that I can go after them.
Nice to see you in Ohio. I never fished from my tracker Grizzly in lake erie because I never really knew there was a spot calm enough for me to even consider that to be comfortable to fish in, but the East Harbor looks extremely tempting. What month was this filmed in?
Looks like May or June. East Harbor is a great spot and West Harbor is safe as well. Some other areas to consider would be Portage River Area in early spring.
I know you have excellent high quality equipment and you caught lots of good fish, but when you lose quite a few good fish is there anything you can do to up your hooking ratio? This happens way to me way too often and I might only get 3 strikes and miss two of those.
I'm no pro but I can say anticipation is a killer. If you're only getting 3 hits a lot of the times your acting way to quickly to it and messing up or have become complacent. Stay focused and don't set the hook too quick or be complacent and set it way too late.. you got this brother
I enjoyed the video. You definitely picked a good day to fish Erie. I fished it twice in my life time and it get can get down right nasty. I have caught a lot of largemouth bass, but once you go fishing for small mouth, you are hooked for life. I can't wait for my next trip up north. When will you be down in Florida again? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Not a big fan of targeting fish that are on their beds. But you are correct, Erie is a lake where bass boats go to sink. A tournament out of Erie, Pa lost 17 out of 45 boats when I was fishing tournaments years ago.
Awesome vid Tyler. Would like to see more about topics like this. No one put this stuff out. To me safety comes first!!! Can’t catch fish if your sunk or in accident.
This is my kind of fishing, next time you go to Erie and want someone to go with hit me up. I live just east of Cleveland about 15 minutes from Fairport Harbor
I went up there on a walleye trip this past April, all I wanted to do was bass fish but I was with a group of people. If you go up there again stop by McCarthys in port clinton and get the scotch eggs, lol they're the best eggs I've ever had in my life
Love to be fishing with you! I think I would learn a lot, that is why I watch your videos. Probably a long shot but would it be possible to go fishing with you sometime. I'm in PA and hardly anyone talks about fishing in PA.
One of those rare, calm days out there. How much crap did you get for sticking to the largemouth for so long before heading out to the smallies? Any time I fish the harbors, I always get the “what are you doing coming to Erie to fish for green fish” comments.
Erie is a different kinda animal. I use to take my 18 foot out there and hit some 6 footers and it will definitely make your buttcheeks pucker to the seat. I came home and found a ranger 522 and I've been out in 10 footers and it still freaks me out. Erie will humble you quick
Dangerous water? Pssshhh I kayak fish Florida swamps👌👌 for real tho, I have seen videos of those lakes getting absolutely blown out. I can imagine it gets dicey up there. Cool video style, it's different and I like it! Keep doing your other ones too tho. I've bass fished my whole life in Florida where you throw anything and then eat. But I spent the last year in Kentucky and learned quite a bit from your videos.
That 1st news reporter (Shawn Lafferty ch 24) that you showed is my home town news. Bringing anything other than a Deep V to Lake Erie is like bringing a knife to a gun fight...you should know better BASS HQ😄😄😄
Love your videos and I promise I'm not trying to hate but the moment you said they were on beds I moved on. I think fisherman especially pros should leave them alone during the spawn. And really advocate for letting them breed up..
Tyler, I first want to say that I am not trying to lecture you. I enjoy your videos and want you to make them for years to come. I was an operation specialist in the US Navy, and have been part of search and rescue operations that have lasted for days. I didn't see an EPIRB or PLB in your list of equipment. If you had one on board, please add it to the list of your equipment. I would hate to read something bad happened to you when I could have shared info with you that could save your life in the future. No bass boat should be on any of the great lakes without an EPIRB or PLB. The great lakes are some of the worst waters in the world. Things can go bad in minutes out there. I hope this info may save a life one day. Thanks for the videos!
Hey Donald, I appreciate you looking out. I don’t have a EPIRB but it is definitely something that is irreplaceable in case of a bad situation. I will look into one of those

This video was different than normal..just testing the waters here a little bit. Would love to know your thoughts!
Was a great edit! Always love the Vlog style videos ! Super cool you caught two fish infront of those people !!!

I really enjoyed it!

Awesome videos as always. If you ever get to the NC/SC line, hit me up, I have a nice lake full of smallies
Been on St Claire couple times. Went down to Erie one time. Never had the day you did (fishing tubes shallow).
My response to your question at 18:40: Yes, I want to go fishing with you right now. I'm freezing in Iowa but dreaming of catching Bass in open water.

When is the best time of year to come up to Erie?
Erie is savage. I used to have a 20' center console and was always apprehensive about Erie I'm like a small craft warning 🧲 🤣
This is why I only take mine out in the gulf. Can't trust a bass boat in a lake lol
Hahaha I have actually heard from a buddy of mine that the gulf is better than lake Erie most days
Lol
How big is the Lake Erie largemouth record?
That was epic…❤
Love me some harbor fishing in Erie.
