Nice. Basic wide ass boat, high tech lightweight motor, sonar, great rod/reel set ups and your buddy as a guide. The fish, are the bonus. Electric outboards are evolving just like power tools did in the early 80’s. Great presentation. Rosie🌹
Thanks for introducing this to us! I'm so excited for electric motors to become more widely available. They are currently out of my price range but hopefully in the next 5 years, there will be good, cheaper alternatives that I can get. Thank you again for sharing!
Ain't no way that was 10mph in this video though. Those jon boats are on plane at 10mph. A 70lb thrust trolling motor gets you going 6 on a jon boat, and it also has spot lock and remote steering. I'm excited for electric outboards but we just aren't there quite yet
Basically just trolling motors with batteries on board. Batteries are probably more expensive than an external battery you can buy for trolling motors. I don't see electric motors doing more than kickers and trolling motors, cool product either way, definetely usable on small lakes
Damn you Jay Siemens!! Since watching your Incredible series THE OUTPOST, I continue to stumble across utube videos with the Legendary cast you fished with and down Another Rabbit hole I go!!! Love your content Dude!! Transplanted Minnesotan living in Florida who Only fishes in Ontario!!
Yeah, to heck w that. 5 grand for 1hr of runtime...... where i work is also a small pontoon boat mfg, we put a couple variations of electric outboards on. To get any sort of runtime you have to add 2 batteries thay weigh as much as a man, and both brands are quite heavy. I dont think the target consumer is fisherman though, at least what we see, people just wanna go cruise around on their private lake and go back to dock.
Wonder if they have plans for other models. A kayak model would be cool. I know other companies make them but some competition would be good and it would be made closer. Nice thing about electric is you can store it anywhere without worrying about the smell. Went with an electric auger for that reason.
My D.L. powerbox and trolling motor making approximately 1hp weighs more than that 7.5e! Can't wait to see what that thing does on the back of an Old Town canoe!
The only problem with electric motors is running time and price. With a gas motor you can run all day and gas is cheaper than spare batteries. Just like an EV who has that much time to wait around to charge the batteries.
I have been curious about using these electric motors for down rigging. I wonder how long they would last and how much throttle you would need to push a 17-18’ boat with down riggers and dipseys out?
With charging these larger batteries, people ,consider a battery blanket that is fireproof of charge outside of your home. They can explode or overheat, beware!! Seems to happen more often nowadays.
I've started my share of sodium, lithium, potassium, and cesium fires. The first time you do it the realization that you are powerless to stop it hits home. To your point, the best way to be safe is to make it so the fire doesn't get bigger and can just finish burning on its own terms. Lastly, don't assume it is out; get a shovel and get what is left in the yard....then you can quench it with a hose. And yes, quench it with a hose....it might pop and flame up, but you either consume all the alkali metal or it will get you later.
1 hour on full makes it a non buy. Did merc not give you this? Need to say that if this is the case. Reminds me of you promoting the buddy flex. Doubt we will here about this motor again in 24 months
Got that Jon B vibe when you are digging thru the tailgate of your Subaru
Loved that sneaky little dig on Jay. "Blame it on Taro" as He's netting the fish. Lol. Awesome video, cool moter.

Nice job explaining the Avator and giving us a product demo. Always nice to see a fish come over the side of the boat as well.
It’s like lightning! Hayden’s seaplane base is a beauty! Great product Mercury, now I want an electric kicker!
With that speed on the motor, it seems like bringing a trolling motor is probably just more worth
Quadruple the speed, my neighbor has one and iam not 100% sure but just watching i would say it goes 10mph on a 14' deep/wide aluminum

There's 2 full sized adults on a wide boat. I don't know the exact purpose of it. But it's the same as a 7.5 gas motor. It's obviously slow
@@owendesautels9612he said the equivalent of 2.5-3hp of normal

I love that you took your buddy pilot fishing, feels good to know you keep your freinds in mind on your adventures.

Always good. I'll have to take a closer look at the electric outboard.
OMG that little motor that only lasts an hour is 5 grand(can)!!!!! thats carzy

My Motorguide and a 200 ah 12v LiFePo4 battery cost half that, and I can troll 18-20 hrs before recharge
Welcome to the future, over priced and batteries don't last forever.
What kind of bracket are you using to attach the LVS transducer to the hull of the boat on your more portable set ups like this one?
Unreal Cub!
Pretty cool stuff.. Thanks for sharing Jay
Him casting right into your face had me rolling 😂😂😂
Small lake super hero ❤

Just get a trolling motor
@@MustardTigerFan42 I might. Not in a rush though. I been using the pedals.
@@m14hh5 This thing is so over priced, nevermind the Proprietary battery. I don't see who this is for
Weather is broken here I’m northeast US with a High of 80 here yesterday and a low of 60 this morning.
Awesome content as always jay keep up the great work bro 👍
❤ that thing is mint!
Mercury = New sponsorship unlocked!😉

Overlaying the graph over the screen is pretty cool.
Hate it !

The batteries should last all day and then you recharge overnight. No need for extra batteries.
"Should"
@ yep, I depends on how far they go and what speed they operate the boat at and how big the boat is
Nothing like using a $1200 reel on a $120 rod 😂

Excellent video! What's the price tag on that little beauty?
What is that clamp on ball mount you are using? I been looking for a good portable clamp mount for livescope.
"Please don't be Hayden Martin, please don't be Hayden Martin. 😂😂 what's your name, "Hayden Marten"
Jay. I need that large rod cover. Add the link buddy
16:14 “jay are you fly fishing”
Epic thumb nail!
Nice Fish Fellas
No wonder Hayden slamming. Crush City baby
❤️🎣
How would I get a hold of you? there’s big small mouth in my reserve in whitedog Ontario 1 hour north of kenora near minaki
An all in one trolling motor.

Coolest thing is it sort of looks like a gas outboard so you can fully activate "Karens" at no gas motor lakes!!
Use the plane as a boat next time
Savetheellpout
Make it cheaper by just plugging in regular li batteries.

No fn way you'll catch me way up the lake with that piece of crap
Or you could get an old Minn Kota that will work just as good for 1/10 the price…
The Mercury is ok but the battery life sucks. The epropulsion motor is much better.
