I'm Tanzanian, and i love that they used our East African language "Swahili language".
For those who don't understand Swahili.
"Baba yetu" means "Our Father".
Similar to Xhosa and Zulu
@@somilabiko1641 I think so
@Kenn I agree with you bro, we need to use our own language instead of colonial languages.
Ha! I live in China. “Father” in Chinese is “爸爸” or “baba”.
In Zulu is Baba wethu

+Andrey Lavrov It's the Lords Prayer word for word!!
+Alex Boye thank you for clearing that out for me, it should have been common sense..
You sure do take some of these songs to the next level! Wonderful!
Here is the Swahili /// English translation to the beginning of the song. It makes it that much more meaningful to me to know what they're saying!
Baba yetu, yetu uliye Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina /// Our Father, who art in Heaven. Amen!
Baba yetu, yetu, uliye M jina lako e litukuzwe /// Our Father, hallowed be thy name.
Utupe leo chakula chetu /// Give us this day our daily bread
+Andrey Lavrov It says it's the Lord's Prayer in the title.
+Andrey Lavrov Honestly, look up the original. It'll give you chills.
I am an agnostic. But the power of faith - for good, for evil - will always awe me.
Faith has so much power ❤
As an agnostic I can only define faith as the measure of one's will that a thing be truth.
@@josephdonais4778 It's followed by a pattern of evidence. Though you don't know the future, you have a strong pattern of past evidence that shows with relative certainty how the future will also unfold. You can "see" something though it hasn't yet manifested.

@Aloha Akahai im not here to debate nor impose my religion upon you, and neither should you. I can too get verses from both holy books (the bible, and the quran) to prove my point. But again, im not here to debate. So lets just in both be respectful and loving to one another without sharing the same beliefs, shall we?
@Aloha Akahai ofcourse the bible knew. there has been prophets long before jesus existed. (Adam, Noah, Abraham, moses) then jesus came. Whats funny is ur situation right now and your lack of knowledge in the matter.
I'm not religious in any sense of the word, but I can truly appreciate when songs are sung in someone's native tongue. Hearing this is just amazing.
Same here. And I love that it's so many nationalities together
It's beautiful because it's praise to God our Father in heaven with whom we all are created to worship. This is the Joy that all men shall seek but sadly few shall find. Know that Jesus is pleading for you to come to him in heaven. He sent his message to you in his death in the mortal flesh.

that, my friend, is the authenticity of the spirit. The song is singing the Lords Prayer
I couldn't for years but then today I was listening to it and paging around the parts of the Bible about music and found this: "but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart, always and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father." This moves me to tears because the image of humans standing together in a big circle singing and making music, this is how it was meant to be.
True
where’s the diversity of Gods lands and people? representative of this language?
@meerontbijtkoek yes! You worded this beautifully ✨
@meerontbijtkoek - Yes!! Because music and songs themselves are basically their own language! And the best part of all, is that: no matter who you are, where you live/where you are now, what you may have done in the past, or which country you came from, heck not even your native tongue (or, native language) is enough to stop music and songs from bringing people together. They are a beautiful part of our (Note: I'm using the term "our" collectively as in, "all of you other fellow humans out there".) histories and cultures. And, I have no doubt that any of us would be who we are if music and songs had never come into existence. Especially since the language of music and songs is universal!
Truly
This is creativity at its best. No politics, no racism, just beauty. Thank you.

Tamra Armstrong Whoa... Hang on... I gotta write this down! Thank you! :)
That’s super interesting. “Tafadhali” is similar to Arabic with “tafaddal”, which can roughly mean “Go ahead” or is a gracious way to give permission. Like saying “Please, go ahead!” With proper context. I find this even more cool because Jesus likely preached in Aramaic, the early root language of Arabic. With the context of this Bible verse, one can kind of translate this from Arabic/Aramaic as giving permission- like “Please go then, pray like this....”

Same, As a muslim too, i wish all of you much love! God bless us all. May we all meet in heaven :)
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard.
This is the theme of earth. Take a belief that has spread across the world and intermix it with a language developed near the birthplace of humanity and you have the theme of earth.
I love the BYU men’s choir so much. My cousin actually sang with the men’s choir before he unexpectedly passed away. Such a great inspiration to all those who knew him and all those around him. He had a phenomenal voice. Miss him everyday ❤️
Was that just a few years ago? I was friends with him. He sang right next to me in concerts and he did have a great voice! Everyone in the choir loved him.
I have been searching for this song for months. They played it in Dubai dancing fountain and heaven gracious it was so touching, hypnotising and powerful. They nailed it! And I am a proud citizen....

Miserere Nobis do your prayers extend to all?
It is the perfect song on the day of the terrorist attacks in Brussels. It made the lyrics come to life. Thank you
❤beautiful music has no religion no color no country music is divine praise the Lord Jesus Christ Amen 🙏👑
Music touches the soul the message you take is how your soul feels the music. You dont have to be any "faith" to appreciate the amount of soul felt
My personal COVID goal was to learn this song in Swahili. I bought the sheet music, listened to this version over and over, practiced a lot and I'm about 90% there! I feel God's presence every time I sing it.
How did it go? Did you sing it anywhere?
@@nadacolic7775 It went really well! I sang it in my living room lots of times! 😉 (brought a lot of peace, I can tell you...)
@@donnawebb2631 Amen, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you!!! Praise God
Covid goal? 🤭 Should be a God goal, am i wrong?
@@impulsestar6431 What better way to fight COVID than a prayer to God in Swahili? :)
I've never seen someone look as fulfilled in singing as that man
This beautiful song sung by all different kinds of the Lords children is so beautiful. To see all the people from all over world united truly in love and peace, it’s the most amazing thing

The spirit know no boundaries, regardless of language, this is stunning
An amazing rendition of our Lord's prayer. There's something about the use of Swahili in Africa by people from all over the world that just feels so legit and unifying.
England is going for a cultural victory with Great Musicians like these.
+Imperios BYU is in Provo, I think we are in Utah.
+RoanJS The Mens Chorus conductor is from Wales, so I know she'd take it as a compliment. :)
+Catherine Maynes That makes total sense why they where filming in Provo.
Ninapenda baba yetu katika mbinguni! Asante sana kwa hii wimbo, BYU!
I am studying Swahili right now, so finding this song has been a great blessing for me! I can learn some more spiritual words!
Andrew Stewart same!!!
Good luck. Its an easy language to speak and read but a bit tough to study even for us lol. Just try and find someone to converse with. 🙌
Wow!!! Almost 10years after first listening to this beautiful piece and it still feels like my very first time. Gid Bless you all!!
I'm an agnostic. I have trouble rationalizing some of God's actions in the Old Testament. But when I listen to this song... part of me has hope that I can call myself a Christian again someday.
EDIT: It has been a long time since I first wrote this comment. And in that time, I've seen my country fall further prey to material possessions. I have seen people claim to be Pious, and yet turn to greed and hatred. They even go so far as to celebrate others' pain as a victory. They demand greater labor, yet deny reprieve. They strike with a whip, yet claim to be victims. They feast on food, yet call others gluttonous. They would strip others of the very free will given to us. And they will gleefully tell you "You're going to Hell; there is nothing else you deserve."
And that... is why I seek to rekindle my relationship with God. My perspective has changed.
The Lord *asks* for my loyalty; the rich man DEMANDS it. The Lord knows of love; the rich man knows only HATE.
i will be praying for you.
That's assuming that God had anything at all to do with those events. We are relying on the written word of humans, who claim it is the word of God. People with strong feelings about things wrote the bible... not God. We don't truly know God, except what he echoes to us in our souls.
Jesus loves you so very much. I don't have all the answers; no one does. I pray that God will reveal Himself to you as the kind and loving Father He truly is.
inshaalah.
The music of Christianity is the only redeeming thing about the religion. Between Baba Yetu and Handel's Messiah... man... you can jettison the rest.
Who else is a Tanzanian and just came to hear our amazing language sang by other nations
That is awesome! :)
I am tc amaizing
Swahili is Tanzania's language? That's debatable!
Jackson Kimeu yes it is, no doubt.
Jon anderson Swahili is an East African language. Limiting it to Tanzania is like saying English is an American language. You hear how absurd that sounds?
Every year in my high school choir we did this for our spring sing concerts. My director had learned this when she had her trip and brought it back for us and made it tradition. Love this
That's great
I can teach you swahili am from Kenya
Does she played Civ IV then? She's pretty cool!
