Interesting! Christianity is the act of following Christ's teachings. We believe he was the Son of God and that he died and rose again for us. Christianity offers forgiveness for all, although we have rebelled against God, so that we can be in a relationship with him. Jesus taught to love all, be pacifistic (a lot like you) and to glorify God in all that we do.
There is a passage in the bible that says that one day, there will be a choir singing in the skies. I always imagined it so great and beautiful. But even in the beauty of my dreams, I couldnt imagine such an amazing, powerfull, heavenly, passionate choir like I just watched in this video. Thank you so much for sharing.
I grew up in a Baptists church so this song was played a lot. I was one of those people that only went to church because that's what a good southern girl does, but I never really believed in the whole God thing, but now that I've gotten older and have experienced life without church and God; I've realized that I needed him in my life. This was the song that was on the radio when I did finally giving my life to God. This song saved my life and I thank God everyday for it.
With some of the comments that I read here, this song has positively affected a lot of people. Psalm 96: 2 " Sing to the LORD, praise HIS name. Proclaim HIS salvation, day after day". Sometimes when someone gives their life to GOD, the devil tries to throw negatives situations toward them to discourage them. Remember, there is an Angel by your side and GOD will never leave, nor forsake you. Stand proud and strong as you walk with the LORD.
Mary, God bless you in your struggles. It is an impossible task to fight through deep depression and anxiety, but through Jesus Christ and the atonement, we learn that someday we will be made whole again, and that our struggles weren’t in vain. Perhaps there is someone in your life is also struggling, and by you talking about it (like you are here) you inspire them to keep trying, to keep praying, to move forward, after all they will know that they are not alone!

And I noticed that no matter what kind of mood I have, this song and this singing is always able to go through my heart that is surrounded by my anxiety and depression. I’m racking up the numbers also. I made a playlist of mostly-choral music for my grandson which includes this (and some Welsh singers). His siblings get to listen now also, they all calm to great harmonies (which makes me ridiculously happy!). This is one of the ones they always slow down and listen to.
I sang this song in an large Catholic church two days after my Grandmother died. I was close to her. This song brings back a cry in my heart that I had when I went through that difficult time.

This is why we need a personal relationship with God, to repent of anything He calls sin and accept His gift on the cross of forgiveness and eternal life. We played this at my daddy's funeral and the female BYU version of "Be Thou My Vision" at my mommy's funeral three weeks later. Both are incredible and I can not thank these choirs enough for giving my parents the send off that they deserved and would have wanted.

@Nebula Jesus knows what He does. If He left you without the answer it means there is a reason for that. The most usually reason is that there is missing our decision of forgiveness for those who have hurt us. It's worth to say: "In the name of Jesus I'm forgiving every person who has hurt me. Amen." 😊 Without this decision the things won't change - you will not listen the Jesus... Lack of forgiveness to others is really powerful barrier separating us from God. We are during the Lent time. It's good time to forgive others and convert ourselves. 😊
I woke this Sabbath morning 26.02.22 to this amazing spiritual, Nearer to God. And with 😭 I realized how much further I have wandered away from God and not keeping Sabbaths Holy. Born in an Adventist home, singing was a passion. I have sang in a family quartet singing tenor and I remember those times were we were asked to repeat the songs in public gatherings. Human voices are the replicates of our heavenly angels because we are the creation of God in His likeness and image. If we can render such beautiful amazing tunes, then just imagine how 10,000 angels voices would sound like on Sabbath in Heaven worshipping and giving praise to the Most High.

My high school choir is doing this song. Im a tenor 1 and this is super hard! It is so much fun to sing though! Literally, after every time we practice this song all the way through, we remain silent for 10 seconds to absorb the fact that we just sang this spot on! The goosebumps are REAL!
My son sings for the University of Oklahoma Men's Glee Club as a Sophomore, he loves this. Working with his Director to have the club sing this at an upcoming concert.

For years now I've viewed this as the peak acapella performance of all time. Now, I'm not religious. However, it is absolutely fascinating to see what religion can do. How it brings people together, how beautiful art is created with their religion as the foundation. It's breathtaking... You know it’s not so much about religion. You can have a real connection to God through Jesus Christ. All it takes is to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God who came to rescue his people from sin and death. Because he died bearing our sins, those who believe in him receive the gift of salvation, the reconciliation with God. You can become a child of God, too, because John 1:12 says to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to be children of God.

I grew up in a Baptists church so this song was played a lot. I was one of those people that only went to church because that's what a good southern girl does, but I never really believed in the whole God thing, but now that I've gotten older and have experienced life without church and God; I've realized that I needed him in my life. This was the song that was on the radio when I did finally giving my life to God. This song saved my life and I thank God everyday for it.
With some of the comments that I read here, this song has positively affected a lot of people. Psalm 96: 2 " Sing to the LORD, praise HIS name. Proclaim HIS salvation, day after day". Sometimes when someone gives their life to GOD, the devil tries to throw negatives situations toward them to discourage them. Remember, there is an Angel by your side and GOD will never leave, nor forsake you. Stand proud and strong as you walk with the LORD.

I’m racking up the numbers also. I made a playlist of mostly-choral music for my grandson which includes this (and some Welsh singers). I woke this Sabbath morning 26.02.22 to this amazing spiritual, Nearer to God. And with 😭 I realized how much further I have wandered away from God and not keeping Sabbaths Holy. Born in an Adventist home, singing was a passion. I have sang in a family quartet singing tenor and I remember those times were we were asked to repeat the songs in public gatherings. Human voices are the replicates of our heavenly angels because we are the creation of God in His likeness and image. If we can render such beautiful amazing tunes, then just imagine how 10,000 angels voices would sound like on Sabbath in Heaven worshipping and giving praise to the Most High.
Brother, the almighty God is waiting for you. He can forgive your faults and bring you back to the right way, so don't give up! I'll be waiting for you in the eternity 🙌

This is worship. When my soul feels burdened and heavy, I come here and I listen to this song and the glory of the Almighty fills me up every time. I thank God for these men, these voices and the opportunity to worship him every time this song is played. What a blessing.

For years now I've viewed this as the peak acapella performance of all time. Now, I'm not religious. However, it is absolutely fascinating to see what religion can do. How it brings people together, how beautiful art is created with their religion as the foundation. It's breathtaking... If I were God, and my worshippers were to preform stuff like this in my name, I'd happily sit back with a beer, and enjoy my creation

You know it’s not so much about religion. You can have a real connection to God through Jesus Christ. All it takes is to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God who came to rescue his people from sin and death. Because he died bearing our sins, those who believe in him receive the gift of salvation, the reconciliation with God. You can become a child of God, too, because John 1:12 says to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to be children of God.
