    Im new to Rc building... I have a Tamiya tt-02d kit ( honda civic SiR body) ... I don't have any of the electronics besides the battery... In the instructions manual, the step im on (29) now says to check the Electonics , the steering with controller etc... (yours says step 26 which is my 29).. anyways ...my question is, can i skip that part, and start finishing the rest of it up and once i get the electronics just install them? any feedback is helpful thank you.

    • @quietrc
      @quietrc  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can absolutely skip this step. Sometimes ts just a little more difficult to fit that servo in there later, but still totally doable. People switch out servos all the time on completed chassis.

      @@quietrc thank you, i figured that would be the case, any reccomendations on on electronics for it? i havnt looked into any yet,

    i'm wondering is there a place that sells aftermarket body's so you can swap it in to another model? been thinking about getting one of these kits but the model I'm looking for is ...both ancient and long unobtainable (celica ST205 somehow the ST165 is still alive and kicking and quite popular >.>...or at least highly available) I've found pictures of a tamiya ST205 kit, 2 variants even but google tell's me I'm crazy and just points me towards the 1/24 model kit :P (I'm guessing it came out in the 90's and was not popular :P...it is kinda the black sheep of the celica family)

    • @quietrc

      So the quick answer is “yes” you can find bodies for these cars. Generally any touring car body that is “190mm” is going to fit. With the TT-02 you can change the wheelbase and track (width), but most of your options are what’s considered “190mm touring car.”
      When you’re looking into specific makes/models, that’s where it gets tricky. The best places I’ve found for more obscure makes and models is L&L Models and Team Blue Groove. Be patient with shipping for both of them.

      oe tyvm, it seems L & L Models has exactly what I would need (damnit google where was that search result..though I guess it's labeled as a 258/190 (dimensions) celica and not a 1/10 (scale) celica :P)

    Do the bearings help with friction I was building one of these with the stock bushings idk what I did wrong but it won’t move I only have the driveline in rn and it’s binding to the point where I burnt out my motor

    • @quietrc
      @quietrc  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the bearings do help with friction and reduce slop. However, what you are talking about is way beyond that. I think you are going to need to tear apart the whole driveline and reassemble while going over the instructions very carefully. It seems like something may be flipped, or a screw that's too long catching a gear or shaft. And while you've taken the drivetrain apart, put in bearings.

      @@quietrc i honestly think it’s a quality control issue the stock bushings for my diffs don’t fit at all lol I’m gonna tear her down and order some bearings and go from there

    Great video.
    Are these kits built as well as kits from team associated, Losi, Tekno, or even traxxas? They just seem outdated and so odd they don’t come with hex screws , metal diffs etc
    I really want them to be nice because I love the Porsche kits 😊 but I also want to run / race with them

    • @quietrc
      @quietrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely not as nice as an Associated kit, but they are about 1/4 the cost. I kind of look at Tamiya as a model company first, then RC. So they have great looking cars, and are fun to build, too, but you couldn't take a TT-20 and be competitive against a Schumacher Mi8.
      However, a lot of tracks will have classes that are only TT-02 or TT-01. So you can definitely race them in some capacity.

      TT02 is the Traxxas slash of on road cars!!! look at it like that... Great first kits and really affordable for entry stuff

    What is the transit time of that servo?

    • @quietrc
      @quietrc  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a link to the servo in the description. Looks like it is .013sec/60 deg at 6.8v.
