My god, jedi survivor couldn't hold steady at 60fps to save its fucking life. Thank god I enjoyed the game, but even on xbox, it was horrid as far as performance.

Console games are as broken as PC ports. On PC, we complain because the GPU is not used at 100% because of CPU usage issues. Making the game run at 50 fps instead of 90. But on consoles, the games are locked at 30, so they don't see the brokenness. Just because you are a dwarf and you can pass through a small door, do not mean the door is not small.
It's always gonna be this cycle with new console generations. At the start its really rough but as you said joe it always improves and I have hope it will. We just gotta wait it out things will get better they always do.
just another example of game journalism been puppets for the game company executives.both redfall and jedi survivor need 6 more months but executives kicked them out the door half baked and said fix it with patches to the developers.its arkane and respawn both loved studios by the gaming community and would never have released the games if they had the control to do that. Well if Starfield, Spiderman 2, Armored Core, Forza, and some others come through, then much like the last time 2023 and AAA gaming will at least end on a good note once again. Baldurs 3 will be out in full in August and Street Fighter 6 has been great. Here's hoping it works out in full.

I would never Pre-Order games ever again since Fallout 76, and Idc what comes with it like figurines and such, if the game is broken on launch it's not worth it.
It’s not that the consoles are “showing their age” already it’s simply just like the pc problem in that these games are poorly optimized and not finished when it comes to the technical side of things

It’s literally the developers by that logic you could say most pcs are showing their age too but we know their plenty powerful enough to handle these games so it’s the developed fault same with the consoles they are more then competent enough to run these games at least close to a locked 60fps (most notably using Jedi survivor as an example) but they lack the time to make sure it’s stable and unfortunately have to resort to patches

Yes, we know they are powerful and we know the developers are lazy or incompetent. Locked 60 fps, which means most of the time they can't even reach it, so they play at sub 60 fps. Where is the massive improvement over the last generation? There isn't. Meanwhile on PC right now you can go way above 60 fps.

Honestly if you think about it there's much more pressure on devs to pls PC players now I wouldn't blame anyone for that being the reason we have bad ports both Jedi and redfall were terrible at launch I blame redfall on arkane studios they haven't had a great game since prey death loop was pretty mid and I didn't really have high expectations for redfall as for Jedi survivor that's still one of my favorite Star wars games and I hope that ea let's respawn have more time to make Jedi 3 but we'll see I am a console player but it's more because I feel more relaxed then when I do keyboard and mouse but yeah Kotaku is full of idots

I don't buy games day 1 regardless of whether they're broken or not. I wait for a sale or game share with someone I trust.
