    I totally loved this school so much! It was a bit more independent study than I would’ve liked. I’m more of a hands-on/kinesthetic learner. I will say that I had a professor literally call me to help me on a project once. WGU is extremely supportive!

    WGU is a great college and has some great programs but it is primarily for people that are already working and have a career but want to advance in their field. I don't know how suitable it is for someone fresh out of high school.

    • @beccauvain
      @beccauvain  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I guess it would really depend on the person and how they perceived learning. I feel like they would be fine considering in high school kids are able to take their basic college courses online while juniors and seniors. But if they wanted the full college experience they may want to go to a big university. However, WGU is a lot more affordable so for kids that don’t have the money for the big universities WGU is great!

    I’m graduating high school in 2 weeks. My plan is to get my AA (but i’m debating a gap year) and get 10 courses that can be transferred to WGU’s BA in Marketing. So I’d only have 29 (estimated) courses to complete with WGU, and I’d hopefully complete all the courses within a 6-12 month span, while maintaining a part-time job and semi-free social life to spend with my partner and family. I’m going to look into the suppliments you’re taking and take into account your studying tactics. My passion is graphic design, visual arts and visual/advertisment marketing. Do you think I’m taking the right path? I have a lot of anxiety about a lot of my decisions.

    • @beccauvain
      @beccauvain  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think you are on the right track, but make sure if you planning on transferring to WGU that you get your associates degree first. I only say that because they are a little picky about what credits they will take but if you have an associates degree they have to take those im pretty sure. Honestly a marketing degree is a really good degree to get right now with a lot of variety in what you can do. I’m sure you will do great. You are already thinking ahead and I’m sure you will set yourself up for success. Just make sure with you being so young that you try to volunteer and intern places to get you experience so that way when you graduate you will have some experience on your resume. :)

    I know its self paced....are all courses proctored?

      Only the ones that you have to take an objective assessment for! The performance assessments are written and are not proctored. Some courses only require performance assessments.

    can you get a job alone with this degree , or you need more stuff to add to your resume

    • @beccauvain
      @beccauvain  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly I feel like this degree is the best entry level job degree. I feel like you can get a job entry level with this degree, but having previous experience in whatever field you are going into is always a plus! Also check out the type of job you want and see what the requirements for the job may be and see if you can get some additional certifications that may set you apart from other candidates like if there is a software they use specifically or if the job is excel heavy. LinkedIn has a ton of free courses!

    Is it possible for foreign

    • @beccauvain

      Here is a copy of the policy for international students at this time:
      At the present time, WGU is accepting applications only from individuals living in the United States. (The exceptions are U.S. active-duty military personnel and their families at overseas installations and individuals living in Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.)

    This college is a joke

      Just because it’s online does not mean it is easy. This college is hard. It’s not any different than going to a university except that you don’t have the professors holding your hand at WGU like you do at a big university and you can complete your classes as fast as you like instead of being forced to take a full four years of your life and waste it when you could have used those 4 years finding a job. I have nothing against big universities except that they are money pits and are forcing 18 year olds into a debt they should not even have to consider at their age. Employers don’t care which college you go to they just care that you have a degree to show for it.

      So are all the other colleges out there. A bachelors is very much needed to check a box and open doors. The fact that WGU is online vs a more traditional in classroom school means nothing. Its accredited and employers don't care as long as you check the box. I've never heard of a person getting turned down during an interview because they got a degree from a certain college. they care about the DG, "done graduated"

      @@beccauvain what they don't tell you is that your credits aren't transferrable to other colleges. I remember looking into this school for my degree and they didn't accept a lot of transfer credits. The credits you earned there also weren't transferrable because of the program type. I looked at this college a few years ago so I wonder if their policies are different now

    Are you able to transfer to another college for masters? My understanding is that they dont use gpa just pass fail, so it makes it immposible to transfer. Is this true

    • @beccauvain
      @beccauvain  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Someone actually just posted in the WGU group on Facebook the other day that she was able to transfer and got into Tulanes Masters Degree program. Make sure you get your mentor to write you a letter of recommendation!
