    Finally managed to get hands on with one of these, watch my full review of the Speedmaster Chronoscope: th-cam.com/video/nF55V4x9b6A/w-d-xo.html

    Best Chronoscope video I’ve seen. Now I realize why it seemed to sit well on my small wrist despite it’s larger 43mm case. I thought the blue dial would be my favorite but after trying them on, it’s the silver dial that spoke to me. There’s actually a waitlist for the Chronoscope at my local Omega boutique. Just a small correction to make when measuring distance. You see the lightning first then hear the thunder. Light travels faster than sound 😆

    I recently purchased a white face blue outer dial chronoscope. love the watch. my first omega. very happy

      Nice! Its a beautiful watch, I actually got a chance to see one in the metal a couple weeks ago and it's truely stunning, one of the best looking Speedmasters available IMO. Congrats on the purchase and hope you enjoy it for years to come :)

    An extremely well produced video, well done in all respects. One oops though is that you see lightning then hear the thunder for use in the telemeter scale. But I do love this watch.

      Thanks! And thanks for the correction, in my excitement about the new Chronoscope I seem to have forgotten that light travels faster than sound 😂

    I love that it’s a manual wind with the exhibition case back.

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure, with today’s longer power reserves IMO there’s less need for automatics especially when a watch is part of a collection - plus you get to see that much more of the movement with manual wind :D

    I like that watch too, hopefully i could buy one in the near future. I have 30 watches and 3 are manual winding and those manual winding are my favorite watch, i like the feel of winding it everyday, its a different level of satisfaction when you wind.

      💯 I'm glad that Omega's continued to add more manual wind options with the new Speedmaster '57 models, and that Breitling's also introduced more watches with the B09, hopefully we continue to see more manufacturers exploring manual wind, I'd definitely like to have at least one manual watch in my collection

    I just have this watch for two days, it is absolutely beautiful. And I love the fact it is manual winding, cause I love to wind watches. The version that I have is the silvery dial with red accent on a metal bracelet. Honestly, I probably will not use those scale much. Already subscribed to your channel months ago. you do excellent and honest reviews. Thank you.

    As divisive as it is, I LOVE the new chronoscope. Easily one of my all time favorite takes on the speedy aesthetically

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Completely agree, I love the whole concept of it from the design to the selection of the movement, fingers crossed it’s successful.
      My only gripe is I wish they put it in the early 2000s DeVille case (see my IG for a render of it) but to be honest that’s just me being greedy 🤣

      @@ShahLusso I’m ok with the case, I’m a little surprised at how much Omega are hiking their prices tbh - at that price point I’d be more likely to bite the bullet and buy something like a GO seventies panorama date or even a last gen Breguet marine

    Great video. All the info I needed.
    I like the movement and I agree with your points towards favoring slimness over automatic winding, but the overall design does not captivate me as much as the Premier Pistacchio did. Macros of it look great though. Cheers!

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Glad you liked the video. I agree the Premier Pistacchio definitely stands out more and went more all out - aesthetically this looks like it could have been in the Omega collection for years, but I'm still glad they released it especially with the manual 9908 :D

    Just another watch I won't remember. I would purchase the glide clasp but the gap is ugly and the links are already small enough for a perfect fit anyways.

  • @PhilipSetnik
    @PhilipSetnik 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    As a relative Neanderthal when it comes to these things, I really appreciate your going through the design rationale front to back (literally) for this watch. I personally find the dial to be too busy and difficult to read and while putting all those functions on there gives the watch appeal to multiple contingencies, I think they do it at the expense of legibility. If I were a doctor and needed to time someone's pulse, for example, by the time I could figure out what the scale was telling me, the guy might be dead. (OK, not really, but that's my impression.)
    Now again, as a noob - someone called those multiple scales "complications." To me, printing (even really good, really fine printing) is not a complication. If each scale had its own hands or things moved independently, that's what I'd call complications. Am I wrong? I admit I could be wrong.
    Thank you for explaining the nod to history that this watch makes. Also, your comments about the movement are very interesting. It's a really cool movement and technologically the watch is pretty amazing - although I prefer to see more of the "guts" as opposed to that big back plate. That's a matter of taste, of course - nobody buys a Rolex to look at the back. Well, maybe some people who are into blank spaces....

    Great vid as usual Shah! I think this two pieces are not comparable. Both are great, but the moonwatch has something in its essence that makes it special, I really liked the new one with the colors white black and red.

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very true, the Moonwatch will always be the Moonwatch and have that special place in the Omega lineup, but I’m glad to see the Chronoscope name back and see them use a manual wind for the 9900 series so that they can slim it down 😃

      I’m still loving mine and (knock on wood) haven’t encountered anyone else with my one, seen plenty of the newer ones with the waves though. It’s such a versatile watch I’ll definitely keep it forever, and it works well on tons of different straps so that helps it have its own identity too.

    Great video my friend.. the Panda dial one looks Awesome! It looks vintage yet modern with a sporty look and a dressy flair.. I think it's going to wear smaller then it's dimentions suggest.. considering the 12.8mm height and the lug to lug of 48mm and the New bracelet width is 21mm tapering to 16mm , compared to the speedy 20mm - 15mm , I think the proportions are great .. BTW this new bracelet has micro adjustments which is a bonus feature.. I'm waiting for them to come in soon at my local Omega Boutique to get some hands on.. and maybe buy the Panda.. keep up the great content my friend. 💪😃👍

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I’m really curious to see how much difference the micro adjust makes (I think it’s about the same as 1 halflink) and agree that the shorter lug to lug will keep it nice and wearable for most wrists, can’t wait to try one in the metal :D

    Can't understand why Omega would introduce the "on the fly" micro-adjustment clasp on this watch and not upgrade or make it available for the new Speedmaster. This is what Tudor did with the BB58 bronze, "typical" Rolex move, not Omega.

    • @ShahLusso
      @ShahLusso  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's a bit of a shame - I imagine its one of those things where they want to give an edge to the more expensive model (like Rolex only putting glidelock on its divers but the rest get easylink), but maybe they'll do a mid-cycle update on the Speedmaster.
      That being said, their bracelet clasps are usually interchangable between bracelets and in my experience not that expensive either - when the 2018 Seamaster came out I bought the exending clasp and fitted it to my SMPC and it was only about $150.
      Not sure what they go for now...but the accountants may have looked over the pricing on the clasp for this one so it could be an easy upgrade after purchase to get it on the regular moonwatch :)
