      From your video, the bronze gold looks visually to me almost no different from 18K rose gold. Is there no bronze tinge at all?

    Great looking watch - I think the silver dial with the blue bezel is the most stunning. A brilliant exclusive / first look at this watch and a bonus to have the Omega guy back to introduce it - that is always a nice touch. Well done.

    A number of negative comments regarding the 43mm case size. In my opinion the 43mm diameter, 12.8mm thickness and 48mm lug to lug dimensions are perfect for this style of watch.

    Just last week I received my Chronoscope in blue/silver with the steal bracelet. It looks great and wears pefect, actually smaller as the 43mm diameter would suggest. More like a 41mm. on my wrist. I'm very happy with it. Well done Omega!

    Thank you for the hands-on! Given that the movement is based on the automatic 9900, how is the manual winding feel on these watches? Does it have the nice buttery smooth clicky feel of the Lemania based movements of the Moonwatch?

    Thank you for your video, your channel has been my go to place for the most comprehensive information on new watch releases. I was on the fence with the new moon watch, but this watch has definitely made my buy list. I love the Silver dial and would purchase it on a bracelet, then get other straps afterwards. I also really like the Bronze gold version, I just wonder how it will patina, I wish it won’t change much as I honestly love the hue of this alloy.

    First-rate review (scoop!) of this stunning new Omega! I think my favourite is the silver dial, but I like the black/red too. An interesting and stylish addition to the Speedmaster range. I'm still unclear whether the Bronze Gold alloy will tarnish/patina? Clearly, the attraction of bronze is the patina, while the appeal of gold is its stability. I'd like an unequivocal "yes/no" from Omega.

    Thank you Alexander for sharing your videos are great. Lug to lug is very wearable it's just 48mm same as moon watch pro-1861. I think an additional important spec is the height of the watch(bezel length or diameter) because this measurement can reflect the feeling when you look at the watch. The new omega chronoscope has to protrude case design from 3 to 9 o'clock so the case is 43mm when you measure it from 2 to 8 o'clock but it's not actually a 43mm watch. Because the bezel is about 40.8mm. So the one who can wear moon watch can also wear this watch easily.

    Excellent video as always! Wow so many great combinations. Tend to agree with you that the silver may be the best looking but really liking that bronze gold as well. The dark hands and indices of the silver dial seem to make it the most legible of the lot and that bracelet is a beauty! I get the tachymeter, the pulsometer and the time/distance rings. But isn't there another one on the very inside? What does that do?

    • @WatchAdvisor
      @WatchAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your feedback! Good question! The innermost, 2-ringed, scales are an addition to the tachymeter on the bezel, which are able to measure speeds starting from either 20 or 30 km/h

      Hey, I tried on the silver dial on the bracelet a few days ago in an omega boutique in Taiwan and I have a similar wrist size to you. Usually I go for smaller watches like the BB58 (with only 39mm diameter) and so I was shocked how awesome this big 43mm watch felt on my wrist! I guess it has to do with that very wearable lug to lug of just 48mm and the decent thickness.
      Obviously it would be perfect to try it on first, but otherwise I think what also can help is measure your wrist size from the top view. Because 16.5 can have a different form, beeing more round or flat or whatever. So when you watch from the top on your wrist I have an 55mm wrist, and then the 48mm lug to lug wears really well cause you still have enough space for the watch not to overhang.
      I hope this helps.
      Maybe I really just need to buy the silver dial for myself, since I can not getting it out of my mind ❤

    The most beautiful Speedmaster on the market now. I'd buy it tomorrow if it were an automatic, eg. had the 9900 caliber. I have a Speedmaster Professional, and you tire of all the hand winding eventually. High end watches are very much about loving the mechanics inside them, and automatics just make more sense from a logical perspective. A brilliant, mechanical, self-winding mechanism has been invented, so it should be utilized.

    • @WatchAdvisor
      @WatchAdvisor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well that’s right and wrong! Thanks for sharing! Let me add my point of view: not having an automatic calibre makes the watch for sure thinner and this is what Omega wanted… winding a watch is something very sensual and intimate I think, so why not doing on a regular base. You should try to see this as something emotional and not rational...

    • @sardendibs
      @sardendibs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WatchAdvisor I appreciate that some feel like that, but I don't. A mechanical watch without an automatic movement is deliberate, mechanical imperfection to me. I think the manual winding adds to the nostalgia of this piece. It makes you feel like you're taken back to a simpler time. For someone who enjoys all the nuances of the actual watches that went to space it being manual is a deal breaker and must have. Very similar to how most enthusiast prefer the hesalite crystal even though it may not be practical. If you're into cars it would be like the rack and pinion steering of a vintage 911 vs the current computerized steering.

    Great video as always! I'm a huge fan of this watch - the silver dial is my favorite. I like that Omega brought together the vintage-inspired dial with the modern case. There seems to be some critique that they "don't go together". This is perhaps true if the collector's bias is anchored to the vintage stylings of the originals as "correct", "better", or simply a preferred design. However, as someone who doesn't particularly care for, or about vintage watches, I love the combo. The 43mm size makes the dial more legible and the lug-to-lug size still makes it very wearable for average to larger wrists. Plus, I think these will look even better on different straps than those presented in the video.

    • @WatchAdvisor
      @WatchAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the first atypical Speedmaster not being linked to moon/space/NASA ... It is the beginning of a new era of the Speedmaster chronographs sold in the classic case. The new vintage inspired design will need some time to get accepted by a broader public. You quickly understood where Omega is heading to ... Bravo! I do fully agree that the choice of straps shown in the video is only a guess how cool the chronographs could look ... there are many, many options in fact ... everybody should be able to find his Chronoscope...

    Very nice presentation with a lot of information. 43mm are perfect for reading the dial and cause of the reduced thickness it really is wearable for most wrists. I love the blue dial and the silver one, love the movement. I hope they bring down the thickness and diameter of the 300m diver seamaster chronograph, when that happens I will have 2 omegas with chronograph movement. Thank you very much for sharing Alexander and Gregory. The silver dial version would be my personal pick of the bunch without doubt purely due to the readability of not only the time but the chronoscope timing as well. The introduction of a manual wind version of the 9900 caliber used in the Seamaster chronograph (and others) makes sense as without the rotor is a slimmer movement and is well proven. The dual hand minute and hour counter is good but not perfect. I have older and the current Seamaster Chronographs (old one no waves with the 7753 based movement) where my old one is easier to read the minute counter with all chronograph hands lumed, my current ceramic dial version (cal 9900) generation with shared pinion hour and minute is great but takes a little extra effort to read but this is a minor point. It will be interesting if or when Omega release the moonwatch with this new micro adjust bracelet so I'll be keeping a close watch (pun intended) on new releases. Thanks again.

    In terms of design, for me this new dial does not combine well with the Speedy case. I think they should have made this project from 0. Stepping away from the Speedy case and creating a new Chronoscope line.
    Still, respect to Omega for the finishing and the effort.

      This is the first atypical Speedmaster… it will as always take some time until the new design is accepted…

      @@WatchAdvisor Still the dial is too busy. I don’t think it will become less messy with time.

      They could have used the DeVille line, as with the previous Chronoscope at 3:44. The dial is similar to the Breitling Premier B09, which is in a case rather like that of the DeVille Hour Vision, so it could have worked well.
      Whatever the case is, putting the tachymeter outside the dial was the wrong choice for this watch.

      @@WatchAdvisor Of course everyone has an opinion, but I'm a designer and from my experience and point of view - there are design decisions in this watch that doesn't not work. Usually it work like this: complex dial - simplified bezel and case / complex shapes on the bezel and case - minimal dial.

    Hallo Alexander. Klasse Revue. Wir beide haben den gleichen Geschmack. Wird wahrscheinlich meine nächste Uhr. Auf alle Fälle mit Stahlband. Mal sehen, wie sich die Lieferzeit entwickelt. Finde 2,3 mm Extension allerdings sehr wenig. Lieben Gruß Wolper

      Danke für Dein Feedback! Die 2,3 mm sind mehr als man denkt. Omega hat sich das sehr genau überlegt wie viel Millimeter wirklich notwendig sind ... Die Uhr soll ja nicht am Handgelenk "schlabbern"

    The blue dial and the bronze/gold one look great. Pity most of the movement is hidden though.
