They call that color interior, "oxblood". It's like a very matte red/burgundy color. I do personal love dark grey as a very classy look. Another nice gem.

The rare color combinations and special edition models that separate your vehicles from every other dealership in the area. I cringed when she was trying to talk her way out of the brakes squealing, along with how she couldn't demonstrate the (more than likely broken) suspension. She speaks like an indecisive college girl who doesn't know what exactly she is selling. Yikes
These cars have 2 batteries...one for the engine and the other for the "creature comforts." The second one is in the trunk. Normally a low mileage SL550 should be hooked up to a battery tender (for the 2nd battery). Also, the hydraulic fluid needs to be checked with an "dropper" or "turkey baster"--> IT MUST BE GREEN AND CLEAR!!!! If it's dark and murky and you don't know how to DIY the hydraulic system...be prepared to spend 10ltrs($18 to $25ea) of Pentosin CHF-11S, a filter and labor. It's really an easy DIY and there are youtube vids on how to do this. This fluid must be changed every 30k to 40k miles at least. Oil and oil filter is easy, air filters are easy, tranny and diffy are easy for the DIY guy. Might want to change out the intake manifold lever (plasitc-->wtf ???) which is also a timely DIY but not at all difficult (there are kits for this with a metal lever). Convertible hood can get stuck due to some other plastic pieces (again wtf???) being "worn down" (also replacement for an upgraded pieces at the dealiership) should you DIY. You do the regular oil changes and these cars will reward you in style, comfort, and speed.
