    Yesterday I came back from Switzerland and visited six places Zurich, St.Moritz, Lugano, Zermatt, Interlaken and Lucerne . My soul is still back there 😊.Every place got its own beauty and charm.14 days passed like a dream watching it's ethereal beauty and I would love to visit it again. Do try to get passes, and you get free bus, tram , train and some cruise rides for free. Breads and chocolates are awesome. Be sure to on hiking and of course go to Jungfrau. And do take that breathtakingly beautiful journey by Glacial Express Train.

      You sound just like me! I visited a year and a half ago and my heart is still there! 💔 it’s more beautiful than anything I’ve ever seen before, and my family came from Switzerland, so I feel that emotional connection as well. 🇨🇭 the food was all so delicious and the scenery was heavenly. I agree the Swiss pass was definitely worth the money. I was there for 14 days also. Hoping to go back soon..

    Great video! You are spot on with your advice. I've lived in Europe for about 5 years and and I always tell the tourist, when coming to a new city or town, asked a local where to eat and ask them what they would do if they went out for a day of fun. Took two of my friends last September for a month long biking and hiking trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland and by talking to the locals, we had the best time and did things you don't heard about in the travel books. One question I always ask a local is, Tell me in your opinion what you love about your country. The stories are amazing! All the best

    Lucerne is definitely worth visiting, but make sure you have enough time. If the weather is bad for a day or two and you are only there for that time, visibility could be down to almost nothing. If weather is bad, take in the Old Town. If it is good, take the combination boat cruise and cable car ride to the top of Mt. Pilatus or Mt. Titlis. The video is correct in its recommendations and is an useful guide.

    We also visited Switzerland during Spring. ❤️We did a video of our visit as well. We stayed in Lucerne. Our accommodation gave us visitor passes that allowed us take buses and tram rides for free all throughout Lucerne. We also went to Interlaken and Grindelwald via bus tour to have the best view of the Swiss Alps. Its really very nice. Everything is so clean and laid back. Feels like we are in a movie scene. Every angle looks like a postcard. 😍😍😍

    HI thanks for the video and tips. Just wondering, are the watch stores open in Lucerne on New Year's day (Jan. 1, 2021)? Thanks

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, normal watch stores are closed on this day. But if you reaaaallly need to get a watch on that day you might be lucky to find a watch store at Lucerne train station that is open on that day. However I am not 100% sure if there is a watch store and if it is open. But i believe you can find this out online and often they have a landline phone in the store and do speak English 😊 hope this helps!

    Is the Reussbad Restaurant considered a tourist place?....Do you put it in the lower standard category of the Chapel Bridge area restaurants?....I will be visiting Switzerland for the 1st time in late Spring and trying to plan everything....thanks!

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jade Martin hey, i have never eaten there but given the menu and location it appeals to locals a lot! I would not consider the restaurants around the chapel bridge lower standard, but when you don‘t have to convince your guests to come, it sometimes shows a bit in the experience you get as a customer. If you want to eat with a great view, then these restaurants are perfect! Two of our favourite restaurants are in this area! Rathaus Brauerei, they have their own beer! The other one is called Pfistern 😄 please let me know if you have more questions!

    Thank you for the tips, I'm working on a plan to come to the Lucerne Piano Festival 2021. What are the best coffee shops in Lucerne?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I cross my fingers that everything works out! In Switzerland we don‘t really have coffee shops like you know them from elsewhere. We have decent coffee everywhere 😄 So if you look for a coffee place you look for a Café. They serve a variety of coffees, you can sit down and enjoy some patisserie or desserts also. Many bakeries have a sit down area as well. If you are really into coffee roasts I recommend Tacuba, it‘s a short bus ride from the city center though. You can also go to Starbucks, but you will hate the price tag as it‘s ridiculous for tourists (and locals too). I assume that this is also why there are only a few Starbucks in Switzerland. Same goes for Subway. For the types of coffee: if you order Americano, no one knows what this is. You want to order a Café Crème, which is a lot smaller but not watered down. Also don‘t be fooled with the sizes, coffee is much stronger here. So I gave you all these tips not knowing where you‘re from. Maybe some of them you know already 😄 take care!

      Thank you! I was there in September 2022 and was slightly confused with the coffee options there! I always got kaffe kreme because it seemed the closest thing to black coffee. And I hardly saw any coffee shops there, so never got to try one, but would have loved to!

    Thanks!, Didn't know there are Morning markets there, and I ask if someone can help, Are they a little cheaper than buy in a supermarket? Due how morning markets work here, I suppose the response would be Yes, but prefer to ask, maybe they work different in some way .
    Thanks!

      no they're usually more expensive but the product is sometimes from farmers or small producers.

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this weather, definitely be outside. Enjoy a walk in the city and learn about its history. Or travel to any city by Lake Geneva or head to a ski resort in Valais! Maybe you even find a restaurant to eat cheese fondue out in the sun!

    Is the Swiss Pass worth it? We're planning on travelling to Mt Titlis, Pilatus, Rigi etc.

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Swiss Pass is only valid on Rigi, on Titlis and Pilatus you get 50% off. It depends.. If you only travel to Lucerne and back to Zurich, then it's not. If you look into visiting more of the country then it could be, also look into Swiss Pass Flex. Have fun and take care!
