Epic video .... Thanks legends. Am moving from Australia to Lucerne this summer and excited... What were the best day trips you guys loved? Smiles from Australia
Thanks so much! We're actually planning some day trips videos for this summer!
Thanks to all your great videos I had a amazing trip to Switzerland at the beginning of October. I think Lucerne was one of my favorite cities. And yes, great food was had. 😋
We're so glad to hear you had an amazing trip! Thanks for sharing.
How are the prices? Is it that expensive as they say?
Thank you so very much for sharing such useful information !!
You are so welcome! We're glad you found the video useful:)
Thanks for all information🌹
We're happy to help! :)
Sorry, I found the link to the water fountain location within your 1 day guide to Lucerne that I purchased. Yay! Thank you!
No problem Tina, thanks for buying our Lucerne Guide!
Thank you so much for all the useful information about Lucerne and all of Switzerland!! I recently purchased your one week Jungfrau region guide and love it so much! I'm wondering whether you will create guides for Zermatt in the future?
We're so happy to hear that our Guides and videos have been helpful while you're planning your trip!! And yes, a Zermatt Guide will be coming in the future :)
Switzerland is really the beautiful country and great people 😊
We definitely agree 😍 The place and people are wonderful!
Great video! While I love Basel (because of family ties and it's just a cool city) if one could go to only one quintessential Swiss city, I always recommend Luzern. If possible give yourself more than a day there to explore all around the lake. The views are beautiful, whether from the city wall, boats or mountaintop excursions. My first few trips I would always stay in the city itself, but lately have enjoyed staying in nearby small communities/towns and just hop on the very convenient public transportation system. Wonderful organized tips as usual, Jana & Brett! Thanks!
Laura, your comments are always so helpful! We're happy to hear that you also recommend Lucerne as the best traditional city to visit. But oh my goodness, you could spend days exploring all over the lake! Like you, we often like to stay on the edge of things just outside of the city. It's quieter and often even more charming. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, Laura! We always like hearing from you :)
Excellent
Glad you liked the video!
Danke guys for valuable content for Switzerland dreamer like me 😂
You're welcome! Nice to hear from a fellow Switzerland dreamer😉
I love that the farmers in the area put out bread and produce in small boxes by the road
Complete honour system
We love this too!! We made a video about this in the Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen area, but they do this all over the country!
Some great stuff here - we stopped for an hour between trains on the way back to Zurich - mostly to see *that* bridge! Would definitely like to do a deeper dive at some point :)
Next time!
Nice
Wish we were back there!!
We do too! Loved getting to spend time with you 3 - you’ll have to come back for another visit some day 😊 (Or maybe we will come to France instead!)
@@AplinsintheAlps Yesss! To both of those suggestions! 😄
Thank you so much for your tips! Do you happen to have a video on what to wear in places like lake como or Venice or positano in Italy?
You're so welcome! No, we have specific videos for that, but we do have packing video that may help! Otherwise, dressy casual and dresses are always a good option in Italy!
Hometown🥰🍀
Your hometown is beautiful!
Hey - super informative video, thank you! I am going to Swiss in June and have 1 night stay both in Geneva and Zurich. When asked for the city card / guest card by the hotels (both three stars one) they simply denied saying they dont issue one. In that case can i use my lodging details to travel freely in the city?
I can't find the Lucerne Water app on the play store. Any more information?
Lucerne is my favourite canton 😊
We share in your love of Lucerne!
Hi 👋 thanks for all the info ! Do you think you could add tips for traveling with a small dog ? Thanks
Hi! Unfortunately we don't have a dog so we would not be very helpful with this. But dogs are generally accepted everywhere (stores, restaurants, trains, etc.). Small dogs may sit on your lap or under the seat on trains while larger dogs require a half price ticket. You can read more about that on the SBB website. Hope that helps!
Thanks again for a great video. We do plan to go to Como either before or after our stay in Grindelwald. Since you did mention it here. Would, in your opinion, it be better to go to Como and that area say Varenna) from Lucerne or Zermatt? Or doesn't it matter. We will be in touch before we go.
Hi there! We think it would be easiest to travel between Lucerne and Lake Como!
Hello! Would you recommend staying in Lucerne for a month? Planning a trip for the month of December and can’t decide where would be a good place to base myself. TIA!
Can you guys please make a video on Swiss Grocery stores and how you buy things there ? As you have said earlier in many previous videos that it's better to often cook in airbnbs than eat in restaurants, so can you please tell how you guys do that? Thank you so much!
That is a great idea! Maybe we'll include a video about Swiss grocery stores in the future.
I live in Bern. Coop (pronounced like cope) and Migro (Meegrow) are the 2 biggest grocery store chains. There's also Aldi and Denner.
It’s Luzern with a hard Z. Like in LED Zeppelin. Z.
❤❤❤
Hey guys. Hope you doing well. Can you so an information video for Rheinfall please? Price and how long you need to visit around, food halal food possibly. And if someone drive all the way from interlaken. As far as i know even that is very big tourist attraction area. Thank you
We have been there (before we started our TH-cam channel) but we don't have any videos there yet. We walked around the falls (did not take a boat) and really enjoyed it. It's a 2.5 hour drive from Interlaken, although we think there are plenty of beautiful waterfalls near Interlaken as well!
Thank you for sharing important informations about Lucerne. I have one only question that WHERE WE CAN FOUND THE GUEST CARD IN THE CITY?
You will get it from your Lucerne hotel or Airbnb!
@@AplinsintheAlpsthank you
Hallo!! What is the name of the app you use for the water fountain/toilet locations??
Hey! Here's the link:)
lucernewater.ch/#/map
Wow guys thank you so much. Is this recent video clips, because looking at online the weather shows clouds and rain 😢
You're so welcome! Yes, this video was filmed in June 2023. Don't trust your cell phone weather app - use www.meteoswiss.ch instead. It's way more accurate!
@AplinsintheAlps oh thank you so much. When i come next month how can we meet you up even just for 5 minutes.
@AplinsintheAlps for Jungfrau Region i am watching their webcams, and its upsetting. I am scared of not having good sunshine in August. 😢
Could you please share website link to check Swiss Fountain Water Quality?
Sure! Here it is:
www.luzern.com/en/things-to-do/guided-city-tours/lucerne-water-online-fountain-guide/
Can you pls tell me how far is Lake Lucern from the Lucerne Railway station or IBIS Lucerne ? Very URGENT
Will my US credit cards work and where can I get local cash if I arrive on a Saturday?
Hi Reginald! Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted (but AMEX isn't accepted nearly as often). You shouldn't need much cash, but we always bring a debit card or two, and use those to get cash from an ATM. You can find these in the airports, at all the train stations, outside of banks, etc. Hope this helps!
Any F1 fans here 0:01 is that Toto Wolf in the background walking past the shot😂
in swiss german more specifically in the dialect of lucerne we call the city lozärn
So many dialects!!
What do you recommend for the month of December just for 1 night?
Hi Edward! Are you wondering about a specific hotel or place of lodging, or another question?
Which side of the train should i sit from Interlaken to Luzern if i want to see the nice scenery? We’re going on Friday!
Definitely sit on the right side of the train!!
I'm going from Luzern to Interlaken should I sit on the left? 😊
@@adrianacabreradiaz267yes! The view was gooooorgeous!!!
Thanks so much for your well researched vids!
I cant help but notice that your pronunciation of especially German words is pretty rough. Maybe you could study up on german pronunciation, or even listen to how the locals say things. Since there are SO many place names pronounced differently in German, you could even do a video on it! ❤
We really enjoy researching and learning! Clearly we’re not native German speakers, but there are so many dialects that even the locals pronounce places differently depending on where they are from! It’s been fascinating to learn Hoch Deutsch in a place that speaks variations of Schweizer Deutsch 🙃
How to get a Lucerne Guest Card?
You will get it from your hotel or Airbnb host after you pay the tourist tax!
I always thought that Lucerne was the English name for Lausanne, with Luzern being the German name.
Nope! They sound similar, but Lucerne and Luzern are the same, and Lausanne is a totally different city!
Great Lucerne vid thank you guys. We intend to do the trip to Lugano by train and boat it looks like a fantastic trip. One thing Brett..... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop wearing your cap backwards it looks dum and screams " IM AMERICAN ". !!!!. Keep up the great work. Cheers Max . Australia.
We hope you enjoy the Gotthard Panorama Express - it's a very relaxing scenic ride!!
And Brett is American 😉 He was in need of a hair cut when we filmed this video so he opted for the cap instead of curls 😂
2:01 your pronunciation in french does not suit at all!
That's why we don't make videos about pronouncing words in other languages :)
