- John 8 is an account of spiritual warfare. Jesus tells the Pharisee's and unbelieving Jews their father is the devil! Satan! What a powerful statement to make. This religious spirit will rise up when we walk in the will of God and the power of Christ. I hope this message enlightens and encourages us to the sheer power of abiding in the Word of God and walking out His will for our lives.

Something extremely wicked is happening within this world:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). God is allowing His people to see demons invading the bodies of Satan’s servants. Although God has blessed and allowed them to have life, all they care about is their own selves. Instead of beholding the glory of God and thanking Him for the life He has given them, they choose to plot, plan and go against God and their neighbors. Instead of causing good, they spew evil because they are being controlled by Satan, the god of this world.
This is a ploy to keep them against God and His creation. Satan wants man to disdain and undermine God, just as he himself has done. We are to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind-and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus said do this and we shall live (Luke 10:27-28).
What is happening is spiritual warfare, which influences our physical world. In this new light, I see the spiritual world as being more real than the physical world around us. Ephesians 6:10-17

"If ye abide in MY word..." Notice he didn't say anything about written texts. "... my WORD..."

The Holy Spirit bears witness in our hearts that we are children of God. You can point to a moment in your life that you know that you know that you know the Spirit of God came upon you and you became as a new person. Be blessed. I'd like to add to that that way back forty years ago I read in the Bible where Yeshua (Jesus) said to the "foolish virgins", "Depart from Me, I never KNEW you..." and I was in shock. I told other believers that being born again was not enough. (They immediately picked up stones to cast at me...) Apparently there was much more to this walk that just being born again. I sought the Lord, what does it all really mean? YHWH led me to the 15th chapter of Yochanon's (John's) Gospel and made me to understand that it is just about the MOST IMPORTANT scripture in the whole Bible. It is a basic summary of what it's all about. We are to walk and talk WITH God, (like Adam did in Eden, like all the prophets did...) not just be mechanically religious devoid of the Holy Spirit. I caught more hostility from "Christians" and "Christian ministers" over the years over this one teaching than just about everything else I've ever tried to share with the brethren put together. Anyhoo...when I sought the Lord as to why this was so...His response was they love the things of the world more than they love Me (Jesus) and preaching this Word is convicting them of how far from God they really are - and that they like it that way because the closer you get to God, the more the worldliness falls away from your life - and they don't want to give up their worldliness. Most CHRISTIANS love the darkness more than the light. Yeshua then showed me that dead, dried up religion is a PLACEBO (read Howard Pittman's book, "Placebo") that we use to anesthetize ourselves to our dead, dried backslid state so we can "feel" right with God when we truly are NOT right with God. "Be ye DOERS (obedient to) of the Word, not just hearers only DELUDING your own selves." Ooops - there's that "obedience" thing again - which most Christians will call "legalism and bondage." And the Holy Spirit told me decades ago, obedience IS bondage TO THOSE WALKING IN THE FLESH who love the things of the world. But to those that love Messiah, and walk in the Holy Spirit, obedience is a joy!! "I have meat you know not of, which is to do the will of My Father which is in Heaven." "My yoke is easy, My burden is light..." Then He showed me serving dead religion is the STRONG DELUSION which if possible could deceive the very elect!! This theme is in the Bible from beginning to end. And...that backsliders ALWAYS persecute and hate those who are moving deeper into the things of God!! From Cain who slew Abel to the backslid Pharisees persecuting Messiah, His Disciples, and even persecuting Sha'ul (the Apostle Paul) after Messiah's death, burial and resurrection. And it had NOTHING to do with being Jewish, it was about being BACKSLID, for remember, all the prophets WERE JEWISH also!! Yet they did not persecute the elect - they WERE the elect. And Jesus, all His disciples and even Paul were ALL JEWISH yet they served the Lord. It has NOTHING to do with being Jewish or Gentile, but about serving God or serving dead, dried up religion. And judging by the "Christians" I've met in life 99% of "believers" are serving dead, dried up religion, not the Lord. And persecuting the wise virgins. When I realized that, Yeshua began through His Holy Spirit and the written Word to teach me about the Remnant. Long story short: If you scoop up ten thousand "Christians" and could see their future, only a tiny handful will make Heaven, 99% will hear, "Depart from Me, I never knew you..." for SO FEW truly know Him (which takes long hours in prayer, fasting, and seeking the Lord in your private prayer closet) for they simply aren't willing to pay the price. Too much work and sacrifice. So I'll just "got to church" once a week so I can feel I am doing something of spiritual value - something "religious" that doesn't really cost me anything. We are to abide in Him, dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, dwelling under the shadow of the Almighty, living a life of being continually filled with the Holy Spirit giving constant praise, thanksgiving and worship to God every waking moment, allowing His word to abide in us....studying, studying, studying, taking ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING you learn to the Holy Spirit in your private prayer closet, seeking HIS interpretation (the ONLY correct interpretation is the Holy Spirit's interpretation) and meditating on His Word morning, noon and night until The Word abides in your inner spirit man. And ONLY if you do that, will you abide in the vine, partake of the life of Messiah, and be qualified to be THE REMNANT, a wise virgin, and are on track to hear, "Enter into the joy of your Lord..." NOT "Depart from Me, I never knew you." For KNOWING Him means you love what He loves, hate what He hates, His desires are your desires, and your self-will begins to fall away as you realize serving self is a dead, dried up nothing that makes you feel good for a moment, but has no real lasting anything. People seek things (Christians included) like drugs and sex because they are trying to kill the spiritual deadness they feel inside instead of abiding in Him and allowing His Word to abide in us and experiencing true life. I know...I skip a few days of prayer and I immediately begin feeling dead and dried up inside. But in His presence I feel awash and imbibed with Living Water (just as Jesus promised I would) and my desire for worldly things dies off as I abide in His Presence - in my private prayer closet. "For what shall deliver me from this body of sin and death, but the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus!!" Paul's words. Knowing Him and avoiding the STRONG DELUSION of dead religion is THE CENTRAL THEME of all Scripture from beginning to end, and if you don't get this...God Himself cannot help you on the Judgment day. It's just that simple. Don't take my word for it, seek God and study the Scripture for yourself. Religion can't save you. Only Messiah can. But it is OUR responsibility to WORK, press in, in your own PRIVATE prayer closet, and GET to know Him for yourself. And He said in His Word IF you shoulder the responsibility to draw nigh unto Him, He WILL draw nigh unto you. I know so from almost forty years of walking with Him!! Don't be like the foolish virgins who look to a ministry, minister, church or seek "anointed teachers" to find the way, for God showed me that's what qualifies as "...give us some of YOUR oil..." They don't want to do the work...they are looking for someone else to do it for them... No, you can't ride someone else's coattails into Heaven... No...you MUST get in your own private prayer closet and press out your own oil yourself!! Spend the time, LOTS of time. Make the sacrifice. I've given up several hobbies in my life because I'd rather spend my time in prayer than playing with toys because He has become more important to me than my hobbies. You must get to KNOW Him. It is NOT an option. May the Holy Spirit come upon you in your own private prayer time and may you yield to Him and Him alone as HE reveals to you the true path. And don't be surprised if lukewarm believers become virulently hostile to you. Both Messiah and apostle Paul say that if you stir up the wrath of the Pharisees, it proves you are on the correct path...just like the prophets who came before you. Omein!!

Well Done. Thank you. The word “abide” is used ten times in the first ten verses of John 15. Looking at the Greek roots of the word, we discover helpful definitions. To abide is to “dwell,” “remain,” “be present,” and to “be held and kept.” Abiding addresses our posture and place. Where are we in proximity to Christ?

I would ask you, do you understand that Jesus in the gospels is still talking about the Old Covenant, and he is fulfilling the law and teaching those Jews that they cannot fulfil the law. The word disciple means learner, he is teaching them to live by the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit that he has given us. Romans 5:5. But that had not happened until his glorification that we see in John 7:39. He is teaching that there is a New Covenant about to come into reality when he is crucified on the cross. Judas was a disciple but not ever saved, John 6:64, 6:70. Abraham was justified by faith, not the keeping of the commandments that only Jesus could keep, he fulfilled the law for us. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 1 John 2:17 And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides for ever. 1 John 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. When we abide in his word, we are living according to what we are taught in the scriptures to do, and that is to be believers that are overcomers through faith in God. 1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? In the New Testament we are saved and born again by the believing in what Jesus did for us on the cross. 1 John 3:5 And we know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. He has washed us from our sins in his own blood. Revelation 1:5. A born again saved man has no sin, Jesus paid the price for us, and we are now considered sinless. 1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin, for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. if you were made the righteousness of God in him, God sees you as a sinless man because of what he did for you that you cannot do, and that is live in perfection as he did for us. We are putting on the righteousness of God as it says in Eph. 6. Believe John 3:16-18, and John 10:28, he gives us eternal life.

What it required to meet the conditions to be redeemed. Jesus redeemed us through by shedding His bood and our faith. But we do not get a free pass to live in sin. Read Ezekiel 18, Hebrews 6:4-6, 2 peter 2:20 actually read the whole chapter. We are given grace to repent not to sin. Jesus had forgiven the woman at the well but He told her" go an sin no more."
