(I've never been JW) As a kid my JW friend was genuinely so shook and mortified when I told her I wasn't JW, she started saying how we can't be together in paradise unless I convert and she was super distressed about it...this was my first experience with JWs so I was very puzzled. Looking back I feel so horrible for her.

She could have at least told me WHY as it was the early days and I knew nothing yet about it. I was 12. My other friend , stopped writing me for the same reason. I had 2 girls knock on my door, and they were JWs. I didn't know until near the end because i ended up asking them.
I didn't have it in my heart to be mean to them because they were young, probably in their late teens early 20s and I just couldn't imagine having to do that knowing they probably get really horrible interactions.
Well, they showed up again and gave me a flyer and told me to look into the religion. Im obviously not interested but I wasn't even angry for them bugging me.
Those girls should be enjoying their summer, not putting themselves in danger by knocking on strangers' doors.
The weird part is I loved talking with them other than their religion it was always a positive interaction, they can do so much more than becoming indoctrinated.

    • @bean1731
      @bean1731 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@mrprocrastination25 You have been misinformed about the Bible passage being mistranslated. It is a common rumor being spread recently. The Hebrew original text uses the word זָכָר which means man, male. It has no specific meaning of boy or younger person. Interesting fact: Jews take this so seriously that to this day men are not allowed to sleep in the same bed even if they do not touch each other. Additionally, in the New Testament (which was written in Greek) Paul reiterates this. He does not use the English word "homosexuals" (because English did not exist yet obviously) but he did use the word ἀρσενοκοῖται which translates to "male-bedders". You may support lgbtq if you wish, but please do not distort the Christian and Jewish peoples' word of God in order to do so. Also, I should point out that in the western world, homosexual people have access to wealth, food, shelter, health care, even marriage and pride parades, so it is disingenuous to say that they do not have "basic human rights".

As we progressed into studying,I had questions. They didn't have the right answers. The stuff they preached scared the shite out of me. I stopped studying. Eventually so did my aunt. Anyway I became depressed and had thoughts of taking my life. I became pissed at god,God, and all the bullshite. A friend said that I had been spiritually raped. I was lost and afraid. We had one particular guy in the JW, and he was a huge zealot. He always wanted the benefits, but he always wanted to "stay neutral," so I made sure he couldn't distribute or bring anything from the JW at work.
In Canada, and especially in Québec, we have laws preventing anything religious at work. Even in lunch/break times.
As an elected union leader, it was my job to ensure these laws were respected. Let's say I got both eyes on him at all times. Guys elected me at 98% (493 people, from 1995 to 2015, so almost all the years I worked for the company) exactly because they knew that I would make sure everyone was treated equally.

I always make a point of meeting their eye, giving them a warm smile and saying hi to them as I walk past. I know they've probably been given this extremely negative portrayal of "worldly people", so I try and counteract that in the hopes that if any of them are having doubts and wanting to leave, maybe it will make the "outside world" feel less scary. I never can understand why non-Christians think the examples of God taking back life in the Bible is somehow the equivalent of pagans and modern pro-abortionists sacrificing their children. God is the one gave life to all in the first place, He has the right to take it back whenever He sees fit.
Child sacrifice, however, is done by the people to whom God entrusted the children to raise, who are failing the duty God gave them in the worst possible way.
The prophet Elisha called down the bears on the mob of boys because they were threatening him. It was a large crowd of youths - not little boys - young men aged around 14 to 20. The same age the majority of the most troublesome criminals are. And they were insinuating he was a leper or something similar - that's what the word "baldhead", refers to. The bears happened because Elisha was in danger, not just because a prophet of God had to hear a few nasty words.
The Bible doesn't condone anything Lot did in or near Sodom except leave it; the rest is just describing what he did. Doesn't mean it's what God approved of.

It's been so long since they didn't have any contact with people outside of JW that they always portray outsiders as ill mannered bullies. Nobody care this much about what they say, that they will get this angry when they read something from the JW.
But the JW tends to get angry very easily when you're telling them that theirs books have absolutely no grip on you, and that you don't want to live in fear. They almost plugg their ears like a child would do and refuse any logic arguments.

I want to talk about 17:16, The kid looked genuinely scared as he looked at that picture and I really don't blame him🤷🏾‍♀️
I'm 14 years old, a Lutheran (im kind of questioning my Christianity right now.. Idk) and I remember 7 years ago, my mom gifted me this JW book, I was raised in a religious family but it wasn't that strict compared to other families so it wasn't odd to get religious books from time to time, anyways, I had this book, I think it was called 'What does the Bible teaches?' But it was translated to my native language.
Okay, so as a 7 year old, I was excited to get that book because I thought I would receive the typical colourful Bible stories for kids...
It was the *COMPLETE* opposite, it was dreadful, I didn't enjoy the book as it constantly spoke of feelings and the duty to preach before it's too late. In the later chapters it started to talk about the end of times and the Armageddon. The pictures and the drawings made the 7 year old me scared as fuck, I remember there was a deadass picture of a woman and a child crying and injured. Like HOW THE HELL!? and it looked very realistic, fooling the 7 year old me straight up.
I can recall crying in the dining room because I was scared of the upcoming 'doomsday'. My mom left for a business trip and I was scared that something might happen to her, I became more anxious and paranoid after I finished the book. That I would get destroyed in this 'doomsday' unless I joined JW. Ugh. Mind you I was 7 at that time.
Now, currently as I get more information about the Jehovah's Witnesses. I feel an immense amount of pity and sadness for these people and especially the kids in this cult who go through this everyday and have a very few chance of being free... Truly saddening.

I just wish my JW friend won't have her soul taken by this religion before it's too late. She seemed so nice and respected the fact that some within the friend circle are Catholic and have an atheist within it. She doesn't try to convert us or anything.
Just wish she steps out of that cult, though unlikely considering her family is religious

Yap, exactly how a JW talks
Also why does it has to be false religion?
Why can't it be called "other religion" so that it does not offend others and does not feed that gigantic ego and superiority complex of JWs?

Ex- retail worker- it's true. We do not give one flying fuck whether you donate. Half the time, we click past the button that allows people to decide if they want to donate to get to the screen so we can see the total and tell people
Also, yes, I did have those images, because I did have that book. No, I was not, nor ever have been, a JW. The book was given to my mother for free, who didn't know what it was and saw no harm in it, and gave it to my sister and I. I only learned about a couple years ago that it was published by the Watch Tower, and since my mother had given that book to my sister for her kids, I let her know right away so she threw it out, so hopefully no harm done

Hi, Panda! This non-JW Christian sends you greetings from Little Rock, AR, where the JWs here had their convention two weeks ago. I love the work on your channel; hence my membership. 6:28 was my “cringe” moment! Gay people do not choose to have a “lifestyle”-they are born that way! Also, in my 25-year retail career, the stores I’ve worked at never tried to force LGBTQ pride on customers. In fact, no store really does, and that makes me angry that JWs would perpetuate such a myth. Also, in the first segment, no job that me, my two sisters, or my parents ever held never forced us to sign any petition on a political cause under the threat of termination. No job ever does that! That video truly is persecution porn at its highest, and I wish you’d do the other video on that same convention where another JW lady said, “I just want my beliefs to be respected”. That one really set me off! Thanks again, and keep these videos coming!

6:10 I've never been a JW witness (fortunately), but, as a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I can say it's very rare for someone to react like this
Sure, it makes me kind of sad that most religions don't support our identity, but as long as they respect us as people then almost nobody is going to have a problem
I know there are toxic people who are a part of or support the LGBTQIA+ community, but the situation that they show in the video is pretty unrealistic, at least in my opinion
