The Ravens deserved to be substantial favorites. With Lamar starting, 8-1 all season against teams above .500 with Lamar. They smacked Detroit, they smacked Seattle, they played a bad game and still beat the Jags by two TDs, they smacked the 49ers, they smacked the Dolphins, they smacked the Texans. Ravens offense, without Mark Andrews, in six Lamar starts is averaging 32.8 PPG.

Historically one of the best defenses in the league and Lamar actually has looked really good in the passing game for the first time in quite a while. Plus Ravens beat the Chiefs 2 years ago and that was when they had Greg Roman as the OC.

Lifelong chiefs fan here. The Ravens should be the favorite. They have a great defense and Lamar has been playing much better in the pocket this year. Let them be the favorite, chiefs still have the most playoff experience over any team in the league. I don't care how they played in the regular season. Chiefs get it done when it counts the most. But 1 is still lower than 3 and that means leading up to the game, they have proven to be the better team and should be favored. Standings do matter. We have seen more superbowl wins from 1 seeds than any other seed and it's not even close. That's not coincidence.

If the media can stop sucking off the chiefs for two seconds they can realize hey this team has actually been on a tear and have played better the entire season and have a better roster. Yes. The ravens should be favored over the chiefs. The ravens have the much better roster and they are the better team. The only reason this is a discussion is because #15 is on the other side. As an underdog #15 is 8-3 and he's 9-1-1 against the spread. Now in fairness Lamar has the 2nd best record when he's an underdog. He's statistically the best playoff QB ever as well. Oh and in the regular season hes actually better on the road then he is at home, which is INSANE! I can't wait for this game. I think the Ravens will win because I think Lamar is the second best QB in the league(not close to mahomes) and the ravens have a much better team. However, if there is one thing I won't do is I won't count out/doubt #15.
Also I understand that the Ravens defense has been dominating the hottest team all year, but they haven't played a QB to the caliber of regular season mahomes, let alone PLAYOFF Mahomes. I think they'll be able to somewhat slow the chiefs down, but I think the chiefs will keep it close because of Mahomes. But the chiefs defense concerns me because they can't stop the run at all and they might be missing some key defensive pieces who got hurt during the buffalo game.

If you think that playoff success from 3 years ago is more of a predictor of outcome for this game than games played this year with the players currently on the team, then you have no idea how statistics work. There really is no serous argument to support the chiefs over the ravens. Nah, the bills were the better match-up, it was a run+YAC team this past 7 weeks, and YAC teams have no chance with our LB core and our safeties. Reid's offense use the option less the the bills, and we're great against option, and while we tackle in the flat better than any team, we don't get to the QB as fast as the chiefs/browns/lions/9ers, which might be an issue against Mahomes. Still, we're better, but the bill I would have bet 100% on Ravens win. The Chiefs? 65%

The Ravens won the toughest division All-time. Each team was over .500. The Defense came out off the bye and showed why they are the #1 D. No TD's allowed vs Texans. Just like every team the Ravens have beat down since their bye, the Chiefs have not played against this D. And the pundits say the same thing every week about how "hot" the offense of the Texans//49ers/Dolphins, etc is.
The media keep trying their best to NOT give the Ravens credit for their success this year. They keep disrespecting the Ravens and embarrassing themselves after each challenge. 1st the Lions, 2nd the 49ers, 3rd the Dolphins, 4th the Texans. Now they're going to get the Chiefs destroyed and embarrass themselves again by posing this question.
Huge Chiefs fan here. But I don't think they would have won if Buffalo hadn't been so beat up. And until we know why the Chiefs had such a sketchy season, I don't think you can say they are out of the woods. Ravens by four.

Yeah I think the coaching was worse in BUF, the defense was beaten up, and the kicker was Bass. In Baltimore you have a better coach, a well rested and healthy defense, and the greatest kicker of all time. I don't think beating BUF was as impressive as they're making it out to be. Will be a tough game

Ravens have a better all time win %, playoff win %, and sb win %. Chiefs won in 1970 and it took 4 decades for next one. Ravens are 27 years old and are about to have their 3rd ring possibly. If you count the bmore colts days, bmore hs 10 championships and KC has 5 total. KC have never and will never be better than bmore lol. Lamar wins this year, he has all the accolades mahomes has and is 1 ring away fron being even.
