Mick Gordon is one of the only people that can make a build up into a drop and then turn that drop into another build up into a way more intense drop.

In most video games the music warns you about the enemies approaching, in doom, the music warns the enemies about you😂
We are reaching levels of stank face previously thought impossible. Just when you think it can't go harder it does. To quote a comment from the main video, "this song makes me feel like I can 1v1 the sun".
Now imagine being the Slayer and this song is slamming in your ears while you run into a horde of demons..

I'd have to go back and listen to all of the original Ultimate DOOM ost, but I'm like 95% sure that part was a nod to one of the original songs
9:12 I think it's worth mentioning that what you're hearing here is not some heavily distorted guitar, or synth, or anything like that. It's a lawnmower. It's a lawnmower that Mick Gordon heard outside so he recorded it and decided to make music out of it. Then again he did put a chainsaw in a few other DOOM tracks (Hellwalker and Cultist Base) so it's not a huge surprise. Can't wait for him to make a dial-up tone the lead instrument in a song.
Correct me if I'm wrong but i believe for this piece he used a chainsaw for some parts of this song

@@RichardRoberts-Effinger Yes, Mick spliced the sound of a chainsaw with his guitar to make for example the main menu theme in 2016.
The doom guy is actually able to tear apart universes. That chanting you hear at the end is his favorite phrase “rip and tear”
I’ve only played doom eternal right now but at the start, the first key phrase you hear is “rip and tear” so yeah
That riff throughout the that plays is actually a lawnmower distorted with the Doom Machine. Mick also used an 8 string and 9 string guitar for the soundtdacks for Doom and Doom Eternal.

I love 4:51 and 6:41. Absolute banger of a song, I have undying respect for Mick Gordon and his talent of just creating the most brutal soundtracks possible.

Hey Dave! Since it seems you're liking this video game osts rabbit hole, I think you really need to check out the Metal: Hellsinger OST. Their composers (a duo called Two Feathers) wrote some of the most epic metal songs for a video game and got professional metal singers to sing them, like Bjorn "Speed" Strid from Soilwork, Matt Heafy from Trivium, Tatiana Shmayluk from Jinjer, Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy and even Serj Tankien from System Of A Down. I think you're going to love the songs from this game.
The DOOM Eternal soundtrack is what inspired the song ''Parasite Eve'' by Bring Me The Horizon. Mick Gordon (the person who produced this song) has also worked with Metal bands such as Monuments and Motionless in White. Mick also produced ''Parasite Eve''. He also produced the soundtracks for the games killer Instinct and Need for Speed World
Well, more specifically influenced their decision to have Mick work on production. The song is inspired primarily by a game of the same name. That said, Mick did a great job and I hope he gets involved in many future music projects, whether they're for a game or album.

In the Doom canon shown in the original games and comics, the Doom Marine killed all the Demons in the first 3 levels of Hell. Once he became the Doom Slayer he killed every Demon down to the 25 level of Hell. He doesn’t get to the last 2 levels of hell until Doom Eternal.
In the bonus content collection you find out the names of the Demon lords not slayed surrounding The Doom Slayer’s sarcophagus.

You should definitely continue video game ost reactions. One I recommend is Cyber Grind from Ultrakill which is actually a doom inspired game.

Funny enough, I discovered this in the ongoing Ultra Vegito fan manga by CALLMEARJ. (Idk if you're into anime and all that lol.) And yes, "Doom Eternal" is fucking fun once you get the game mechanics down on whatever port you have. Very tactical gaming wise.
But yeah, Mick Gordon got put through hell by ID Software during the making of this OST, so it shows a bit in the music.

Ok, it's quite a different genre, but you should try listening to some Portal 2 music. It's probably my favorite OST ever. It's mostly electronic/industrial, but it's hard to describe. One of my favorites is "Reconstructing More Science". If you want to destroy your ears, listen to "The Friendly Faith Plate"
If you want music with some more action, there's the OST of Half Life Alyx (same composer). Some good action ones are "Anti-Citizen", the music for the Strider battle, and the trailer music.
There's a really bittersweet sounding one from Half Life 2 called "Triage at Dawn".
And the most iconic Valve music: "Hazardous Environments"
