Knowing the dragon ball writers, if they actually wanted Gogito to appear they would argue that Gogito is so absurdly powerful that he is able to bypass the time and power limit restrictions of the fusion dance simply by holding himself together through just his sheer force of will. It would be an absolutely ridiculous excuse, but I wouldn’t put it past them.

I've always liked the idea of Tien using the the Split Form technique to split into four quarter powered clones that can pair up with the fusion dance, and then use the Potara to fuse a second time back into a single super being called Tienenen that has been twice fused for a huge power boost by Squaring his overall power multiple times.

The fusion time for Gogito will be 45 minutes as potara earrings' fusion time is 1 hr and fusion dance's is 30 minutes. So, an average time will be considered. And Second thing, they don't need turn into any of the SSJ forms so power drain will be much less. But Nice Video 👌🏻
My personal theory is that it would be possible to use the Dance AS the Potara earrings forces their body together.
They'd need it to be perfect the first time though.

The full explanation of the Patara from Elder Kai is that you can only fuse once because the fusion is supposed to be permanent.
I believe you can use the super dragon balls to fuse. It’s shown that super shenron is able to unfuse permanently fused characters, why not the opposite?

I have an idea. what if they fuse and then someone quickly use the dragon balls and wish for Gogito to be permanent? Since we already saw that they can use them to define the potara fusion and split the two kais, it would also be possible to make the fusion dance last longer or even permanent

If I remember correctly, the fusion dance technique was the one that held a set time limit, being 30 minutes, no more, no less no matter how strong the fusion is. It's Potara fusion that has the time limit issue, as it was said that mortals fusing with Potara normally fuse for about an hour, but if they exert a lot of power, then the time limit drastically decreases. Meaning the issue would be if Potara fusion time limit and flaws is still in effect while Vegito fuses with Gogeta, then if Potara limitations overstate the set time limit of the fusion dance, then the issue of immediately unfusing is a possibility, but I kind of doubt that Potara limitations surpass the set time limit of 30 minutes from the fusion dance, or at least the fusion stays intact until the 30 minutes are up, as the fusion dance seems to have a much stronger binding power than Potara does on mortals.
The dance fusion is the most least stable of the fusions because it requires the performers to be in sync. So when they’re going full blast, the time burner effect is essentially based on the actual differential in power between the performers.
While the Potara fusion was the more stable fusion, because initially, it was supposed to be permanent but later it was retconned to be twice as long as the dance,(for mortals) and didn’t require subjects to be in sync. It’s time burner effect was never elaborated on making it nothing more than it has marketing ass-pull.

Well, the dance is actually worn down by the amount of power the resulting fusion uses (that's why Gotenks can burn through their power too) however the potara half of Vegito would be the one to almost instantly defuse both of them, since it's power limit is tied to the potara itself, which barely handles Vegito let alone both fused into one

I actually thought about how this could happen. Either they fuse using the fusion dance once more. Or they do this odd action of the both. So elaborate how it would go:
They each get one Potara Earing in one hand. Those hands being either opposite hands. They comense the dance as usual but when they touch tips the top hands that hold both Potara, they crush using they're remaining fingers. Causing a mixture of fusion techniques. How that would look is I believed the swirling power of the Fusion dance would take the inner essence of fusing energy of the potara above them both, sucking them in a swirl into this rift like ball of energy. After both are consumed the ball dispurses with light and powerful energy. After the bright light receeds the end result is Gogito or Vegita
Ofc this is just mostly a fictional desire of mine and many questions to simply be filled with the imagination

So all we need to do now is to find a goku and vegeta with similar power levels from an alternate timeline

The way I understood the dance was the transformation was the thing that drained the timer.
And by that I mean if both users have not mastered the form to nullify the the power consumption then the fusion time will be way less.
Potara fusion got retconned and got a massive time limit nerf.
