Whatever materials they chose, they're holding up INSANELY well. Just had a rental with almost 30,000 miles on the odometer and there wasn't a single rattle, squeak anywhere in the vehicle. Our car was rental spec, so not the nicest, but no complaints on any touch surfaces and overall it was visually appealing. Materials had held up well to so many rentals, no scratches or wear was visible. Really impressed

"it's not the end of the world, but as a detailer it's something I notice as I'm trying to polish all this" ---- that is brilliant. You're coming at this review with the eye of a detailer which no other car reviewer would understand. That is truly wonderful. It makes your statements/feelings/observations about this car far more credible than many car reviewers statements would be; great job.

This is a correct question! Does it look like 55k car? Spot on! This same question should have asked when tesla was 65k! When kia was still 55k without creaks and rattling!! And GT line was 58k while tesla with enhanced autopilot was $72k!!

I drive an EV6 and largely agree with what you said. I have the base trim with no piano black and I much prefer this. The dash has a different plastic too which I think is better, I didn’t like the textured you have. The hard plastics don’t bother me. It was much more important to me the car is well put together, chargers fast, is quite, drives well etc and reasons I picked this over the Tesla Y, ID4 and others.

I would recommend that people go drive EV6. I just drove one and was really surprised by how much I liked it. I really like the heads up display, and the fact that you can go up to the GT Line and get a roof you can open. Both of these are dealbreakers for me that mean Tesla is not an option. I previously owned a 2013 Model S where I could open the roof, but they did away with that option many years ago. Now, there is no option for a sunroof you can open where EV6 does have that option. Tesla has no HuD, and in newer models without stalks, you have to use the screen to shift (or have the car figure it out if you go up to S or X). Also, there are great deals to be had way under MSRP right now. In Arizona you can get GT Line in low 40's. Worth a look.

@@markfitzpatrick6692agree 100%. Teslas are not that nice. I haven’t been in a refresh 3 yet, but essentially they’re all minimalist economy cars with poor build quality that just happen to have good drivetrains. The interior with a single screen and no buttons is maddening for a lot of people. Just about every issue mentioned here won’t actually be an issue for 90% of people, and they’ll actually prefer that the Kia feels like driving a real car with buttons, speedometer, etc rather than a soulless appliance that the Tesla is.

What gets me is that people buy into Tesla's extreme cost-cutting measures like no drivers display (or HUD), no turn signal stalks, no wiper stalks, no buttons or switches, half a steering wheel, plastic pedals, etc... and believe the marketing BS that it's for a "minimalist aesthetic". Bullshit, they just don't want to pay Mercedes for switchgear anymore and software is cheaper.

When you close the sun visor it will turn off the light when it hits the switch. It takes power from the 12v but the car will automatically keep the 12v charged also while parked. It will turn on the 800v battery to charge the 12v when it senses it is going low.

For me to have a car without rattling but some plastic in the back or places you usualy do not touch or have a car with nicer interior but ratteling when driving. I choose cheaper plastic. Of cause it is better to have a nice and solid car but you get 800V and very good charging for a price about 50.000. I have a EV 6 GT line now about 43.000km ( about 20.000 miles) and it is quite and no rattling appeares yet. Software is outdated i have to agree. For example VW ID4 software (and hardware) is now up to date after refresh. I do not care much about this, because of Andriod Auto or Apple carplay. EV6 could be more efficient too. Kia Niro was a lot better in this. Tesla is still better, perhaps best in this field.

Beautiful on the outside, but below average inside. The ICCU has series design issues which Hyundai/Kia refuses to fix correctly. The car is designed to be leased. I think it looks fantastic, but I would not own one! Hyundai/Kia has a new platform coming out that sounds like it fixes a lot of the ICCU issues. The E-GMP platform needs to be replaced.

    • @ericgregori
      @ericgregori 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@tomm5936 There have been about a dozen ICCU updates. There are fundamental issues with the hardware.
Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have issued a recall for 147,110 electric vehicles, according to documents filed last week with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall centers around a damaged charging unit; the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) might stop charging the 12-volt battery, possibly leading to a loss of power to the wheels. A variety of EVs are affected.
This bulletin provides information to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Integrated Charging Control Unit
(ICCU) and ICCU fuse on certain 2022-2024MY EV6, EV6 GT (CV) vehicles produced from November 17, 2021
through February 7, 2024. This bulletin also provides information to update the ICCU software. The ICCU may
become damaged over time from transient high voltage and thermal cycling resulting in a DTC P1A9096
stored. A damaged ICCU may not be able to charge the 12-volt battery which can discharge gradually while
driving with progressive reductions of motive power. If the driver ignores the warnings associated with the
discharging battery condition and continues to operate the vehicle in a reduced power mode, the vehicle may
eventually experience a complete loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
This bulletin provides information to upgrade the software on the Vehicle Charge Management System
(VCMS) in certain 2022-2024MY EV6, EV6 GT (CV) vehicles produced from November 17, 2021 through
December 27, 2023. While charging using a 240-V AC (“Level 2”) charger, the subject vehicles may experience
an interrupted charging session or a lower charging speed due to a degraded electrical connection from
exposure to a damaged charging cable connector. Dealers are to update the VCMS ECU with improved
software to improve charging speeds and reduce interrupted charging sessions
This bulletin provides information to inspect the Integrated Charging Control Unit (“ICCU”) in certain 2022-
2023MY EV6 (CV) vehicles manufactured from November 17, 2021 through May 30, 2023. Depending on the
results of the inspection, dealers are to either install an improved ICCU software logic or replace the ICCU and
ICCU Fuse. The ICCU in the subject vehicle may get damaged due to an over-current condition in the highvoltage system. This condition may cause the illumination of the “Service Warning Light,” "Check electric
vehicle system", and/or "Stop vehicle and check power supply" warning messages, along with audible beeps,
instructing the driver to stop the vehicle at a safe location. Following these warnings, gradual reductions in
      power may occur.

What do you mean charge door wrong side?!
Tesla designed terrible cables that won’t reach and the industry is to blame on the side of their charging - NO
Software - maybe they need to make an American version - something basic
You get this as your Dogs car, but go for a car that doesn’t have pet mode and complaint about it.
Maybe with all those complaints you should just get another leased Tesla to complain in 2 years and 9 months about their lease not being “clear”.
This used to be a nice place, now it’s just so unrealistic and unreasonable channel, it’s okay to moan, but be realistic about it instead of blaming companies for your own mistakes.

Hope you understand it’s important when reviewing cars to be critical, and voice things you don’t like!
I prefer the charge port on the rear drivers side. I find it annoying (especially when charging at home) to have to walk around the entire car to plug or unplug the car.
Software is something I’ve been spoiled with in Tesla and Rivian, this and our ID.4 software just does not stack up.
As for a dogs car… I got this car because it’s $187 a month. It’s replacing my Model 3 that goes in on lease, and my 2005 Audi Allroad. It’s a much better dog car than the Allroad. That being said… ALL EV’s need climate keep or dog mode in 2024…
Tesla’a lease is crystal clear, I knew all of the terms when I leased it.

I'm in UK so I do enjoy mine on the "wrong side" as you call it as it's just perfect for me
I have an IONIQ 5 so yeah I understand software, I dislike my infotainment but I use Apple CarPlay - and I love CarPlay
Before I got my IONIQ I've rented a Model 3 and a Polestar 2 as those were the 3 cars I was interested.
Tesla - The SW was good but I didn't have CarPlay and I hated all was done on that screen, call me old fashioned.
Polestar 2 had it all, loved the looks and the SW BUT and that's a huge BUT, the centre console made the interior of the car feel claustrophobic, and I'm no man to share one cupholder or armrest.
IONIQ 5 was based on looks, I was an 80's Kid and I always imagined cars in the future to look like this, almost like if a DeLorean and a Lancia Delta had a baby, loved the interior, how it drives, and HATE the infotainment, but I always use CarPlay so that went away.
I'm glad you say Tesla lease is Christal clear, shame that wasn't the same view on Francie Podcast.
The thing I like about OutOfSpec is the NO clickbait and getting one on that one was really a sore...
I've watched literally all the videos, including OutofSpec Dave, when I feel clickbait then it hurts viewers trust. Nothing against sensational journalism... but has to be accurate.
