Effects loop in a beginner amp! Finally!
Good sounds, all analog, cheap, effects loop... I wish this gonna be the trend from now on ❤
Its not all analog - claims its an analog path - but MOSFETs are transistors. Not that this is bad because this could be a great knock around amp.
@@ronj9448my dude, transistors are analog technology.
@@ronj9448 And Transistors are analog devices ya numpty.
@@ronj9448transistors are analog tho… it’s not tubes, but it’s also not digital. If anything it’s more like an analog pedal drive.
@@ronj9448Umm… Transistors are analog. MOSFET is analog.
I've had this amp for a year and can only say...for me it's the best solid state amp since the 70's...and I've had many solid state amps...Fender...Peavy...Vox...Marshall...and many more.
I was shown this amp today at a local music store and decided to audition it and was impressed. I admit I didn’t like the practice amps and I don’t need a $$$$$ tube amp for gigs so I never looked at Blackstar but this fits me. It’s simple, effective, has what I need and don’t. I really like the ISF knob but having effects loop and emulated line out is great for my simple POD GO setup and I can get most of the sounds I prefer just through the amp in second rather than menu hopping or PC clicking for a few minutes. I am planning my budget to buy this next. Great amp. I hope it last me awhile.
Blackstar for the win! Sounds great.
Excellent!!!!
Last year I bought the Blackstar Debut 15E to keep in my work place (i'm dentist). I just looking for a small amp with a great tone... And I got it and I love it.
After that, one of my desires wich blow my mind: what if this piece of happiness turns into a big combo with this technology to carry a gig. Well... Blackstar do it again.
In my personal view, I prefer a simple amp. Clean channel, high gain, soft weight, no tubes (requires an expensive maintenance), no digital modeling, reverb option and FX Loop and line out... And this Debut 50R is perfect!!!
This would be one of the best releases of the year or even from the last five years after Katana appears on scene. The simplicity of this amp is the perfect way to begin but for some old guitar players like me definitely is the right point: You don't need too much options, You need a good tone in two simple channels: clean and high gain. No more!!! Effects came after learn!!!
If Blackstar release this same line for a version of 100w combo or head cab, Blackstar will dominate the entire world!!!! Congratulations!!!
Grettings from Mexico!
Thank you for the kind words!!
I got the black one 2 months ago, I was blown away by how easy it is to dial in the tones I wanted and how good my od and ds pedals sound thru it. I liked it so much that I bought the cream colored one too. Yes I know that I went overboard getting 2 of the same amp but I couldnt help myself.
Sometimes two is better than one 😎
I bet running them in stereo would be great
Yea, one for a backup!
I must say after buying this amp and 2ea SubZero amps they are amazing solid state amps and at an amazing price, and the slant cab is genius however I hate mdf and chip-board cabs! and so I might also buy a spare Blackstar Debut 50R, to run in stereo also with my Tele rig ar gigs! You guys (BlackStar & SubZero) ROCK!@@Blackstaramps
i also have 2...+ the boss me90..stereo connected🎉
Those clean tones are beautiful, the distortion is nice 😎 I've always said that you can't beat solid state for cleans but the tweed slightly gainy modeling sounds really nice
😎
I have this amp as well and it is fantastic. Thank you Blackstar for a nice affordable product.
I finally played one. It's
excellent . Good clean is expected from solid state, but the drive Channel is a real surprise. Crunchy good sustain. Cleans up well when you roll your volume back. A lot of classic rock guys are gonna love it.
Multiple Blackstar amp owner (7) and afficionado of the brand here. The new Debut 50 just hits a right nerve with me. Priced right (very affordably), an amp which suits everyone from the beginning player through intermediate and advanced amateurs. I think Blackstar got it just right with this one at 50W with a 5W switch. Love the cleans, effects loop and well, everything about it. This amp what I'd buy if I was looking for my first or second amp now.
😎❤
I am going to purchase this amplifier. I have the Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb which I am going to keep. However, I also want a simple solid state pedal platform amp that sounds and looks good, with an fx loop, and this is exactly what I’m looking for. I don’t want an amplifier with hundreds of useless effects. I want to use my pedals. I can’t believe more manufacturers are not making these types of amps.
I just tried one and I was very pleased with it
Nice video! We're introducing it to our customers. Eagerly anticipating hearing it live and in-person.
Great to hear!!!
Just bought this yesterday saw it at a decent price range as soon as i walked in the shop had one play for 10 minutes. Walked out with it 15 minutes later. Exactly what you want decent tones, effects loop 5w switch to keep the girlfriend happy. and still finding new tones in it.
Very nice. It will look good sitting next to my HT 20 MK II head and box. My love with Blackstar grows by the day. I have a Marshall code and it just sits in my fiddle room begging to be played. Lol
Sounding great ! ❤
This will be my next amp
Good choice 😎
I just installed a Jensen C12K 100 watt 4 ohm speaker in mine. The stock speaker is pretty good, but the Jensen has lots of low end. Word of warning : In order to access the two top speaker mounting screws, you have to remove the Chassis from the cabinet!
this was what I was hoping for!
Might be really cool to do a head version? MOSFET is such a rare feat on pedals or amps. Will pick up one for sure.
Look at the DOD Gunslinger if you like MOSFET things (like me).
After looking at hundreds of amps, i decided this is going to be my practice amp to my Roland JC-40. Will leave this in the studio
How is it going so far? What was your impression with this amp?
Im interested on getting one but not 100% sure...
I’m excited to buy one. I’m curious though, can the Debut 50r handle the 8 ohm Vintage 30 I’ve got? 😎
Just picked up the cream and ox blood unit from Sweetwater. This amp should be high on the list of anyone looking for a great basic gigging amp or practice amp, thanks to that 5W attenuator.
😎
@@Blackstaramps Nine months later and this is still an amp I constantly look to. I have been running a Rickenbacker 360 in stereo though a Roland Jazz Chorus, with a hint of reverb and a slow, deep chorus, and this amp, running a medium level distortion, but otherwise dry, setting, and it is spectacular!
@@MrShooter72 do you use it for medium sized gigs playing along with a full band (heavy handed drummer included?)?
Is it loud enough to practice with the band and not getting lost in the mix?
Nice clean channel. Drive sounds like the overdrive on my Roland JC-40.
The videos of these sound great! Do they do automatic voltage switching between 120v to 240v? I need one that can easily travel between countries and not need fuses switched.
I own a Black Star digital amp and I am perfectly pleased with it as far as a respectable and affordable amp. This amp seems to be an excellent bargain, however, it's on board distortion, though analog is not a quality distortion based on what I'm hearing here. That should not be a deal breaker at all, as it is being billed as a pedal platform ... Personally, I appreciate what they do in their digital amps, where they generally avoid amp modeling in favor of distortion modeling, and in my estimation, for this reason it seems to be a very easy amp to dial in. I hope they keep working on analog distortion going forward.
It works!
I am considering this is one
Or the HT1R for home use. Any suggestions?
I could see this amp and a good Limba Tele w/Seymour Duncan Antiquity HB's for blowing minds on gigs! I would like to add a 1x15 Fullback speaker cab tho!
Bought one this week. When the 50w switched is engaged, a terrible hiss occurred and that was on the clean channel! On the OD channel the hiss level was even worse. No problems with the 5W mode though. Also, the headphone output does not suffer from hiss. I don't know if this is by design or is it a factory defect that was not noticed after quality control.
Take it back for an exchange , it's obviously fault
@@paulredlive True, but I use only the 5 watts mode and that works fine. It's just for living room purposes anyway.
i experience in mine too..
i read some forums and they said that the power source may not be grounded and it can contribute to the hissing noise.. guitar ick ups is another source of noise too especially single coils.. anyway, was your amp got replacement?
@@mechanicAL77072 Oh, sorry for the late reply. I didn't return it because the 5 watts are loud enough for home. As I said, at 5 watts there is no hissing sound. A grounded or ungrounded outlet makes no difference. I also use humbuckers and single coil pickups, makes no difference regarding hiss. Apart from the hiss, the amp sounds very good.
These amps raise the bar on multiple levels IMO.
WYSIWYG no frills. Genuine tone, and...
No digital modeling "optional paralysis"!
Winner winner chicken dinner. With all the gravy.🙃

@@Blackstaramps I legitimately want freakin' two! Best stereo giggable rig option under $600 IMO hands down!
It sounds great only thing I would have added was an acoustic guitar input like the katana
Hay algo que no entiendo, este amplificador es a transistores o a valvulas?
Es de transistores pero entiendo que no es digital y no es amplificador de modelado tampoco. Supuestamente es un amplificador solid state 100% análogo.
Which footswitch is compatible with this amp?
Cool...... where's the Amped3?
Is it class ab or class d amps?
Watched a couple of reviews on this and it looks like a nice amp but I think it needs a third power setting. 50 watts and 5 watts are too far apart. Perhaps adding a 12 or 15 watt setting would round it out.
Turn the volume up or down.
Never seen that in an amp. But yes it would be nice
Would it be loud enough for reharsal with drummer and live in small pubs? Thanks
Apparently no one has the balls to tell the truth about this specific inquiry 😂😂
Im looking for the same answer too
Which amplifier sounds better to you boss katana 50 mk2 or blackstar Debut 50R?
It depends on what we're looking at. Blackstar Debut isn't a modelling amplifier. It does much fewer things, but it does them well. The Boss Katana is generally hard to beat thanks to all the different tones you can get from it. On the other hand, it's also more expensive, and if you're going for the Boss Katana Aritst, which has a Waza Craft speaker, then you'll have to pay around 800 €, which is almost four times more expensive than the Blackstar Debut. I think generally, in a full band mix, you can make most amps work. What Blackstar has done with these is pretty cool! You don't have to be a beginner to use these, but it will also be easier to get a good tone without having to tweak a lot.
@@nedim_guitar :)
Boss katana's are not moddeling amps. They are very, very versatile amps. They have several versionswith price ranges (50w, 100w artist, mini, air waza, the bew head,...). Hard to beat
can someone please help with a beginner question... what is the best type of footswitch pedal would work best for this amo? i have searched specifically for this amp and get confused with the different types
I have a black star studio 10 6L6. And I think it blows us away as far as sound. I don't think I could ever part with my studio 10.
Studio 10s are a fab amp. Two thumbs up from me. I have Blackstar's drop dead gorgeous Artist 30 Blonde 6L6 2x12". Great amp, but more grunt than required around the house.
I love this studio 10 6L6. I've been playing on some solid state stuff for a few years trying to get away from tubes but. I'm convinced there is a sound you're getting from tubes that you just can't get from solid state. So I figured I'd get an amp then only had two tubes and it didn't disappoint. But I like the idea of that artist 30 I was looking for something a little bigger and I'm partial to the 6L6 tubes. Maybe I will have to look into one I believe that amp was discontinued so I'll have to find used one
I had a series one 10AE, really regret selling that one i got it for £190! they're now going up in value...
I recently bought a blackstar debut 50r and I'm really enjoying it; I just wished it was louder, so I want to connect an extention cab to it.
Can anyone me how exactly I would go about achieving that?
I think the speaker is 4 ohms and I can't seem to find a non bass cab with 4 ohms.
Sorry, I'm new to all this speaker talk.

Blackstar id core 40 vs debut 50 vs boss katana mk2 50. Which will be a better buy? Im confused pls help🙏
Hi everyone. Can somebody please help me? Which is a good footswitch to go with this amp?
- I want to switch between clean & dirty, & have the 2nd switch controlling the reverb on & off.
Appreciate advice, thanks.
Love to see a demo about the ISF dial, apparently right is British and left is American......as far as i could tell this was all part or fully right, be interesting to here the American side.
I was looking for an amp for acoustic guitar. This is not for me I can see.,
would u have smth pink in the future💗
We'll definitely consider it!
I usually play at jome with headphones, can this be fine? Also, is it ieasy to plug it to a pc for recording (cakewalk..) ?
Yes this will be fine! The Debut 50r has a LINE OUT connection on the rear of the amp which be connected to a recording device, however, there is no USB compatibility with this model
Hello - why mic the amp, does that not make for unrepresentative demo?
Which footswitch is recommended?
Either the Blackstar FS-8 or the Blackstar FS-18! 🙂
@@Blackstarampswhat functions are controlled by the footswitch? Channel and reverb?
What is its weight? And its dimensions?
Best place to get specs is Thomann. Weight is 10Kg.
I'd be all over this if there was a head version
The sound in your head? No that's EPILEPSY!
Just got my one of these and the overdrive channel sounds terrible, very muffled and I have no control over that
Be nice to hear an amp natural not all miked up
Hmm not sure that it will replace my vox pathfinder 15r
I'm 080
I really wanted to like this, but: all analogue and digital reverb? That's just a lazy shortcut!
Why no blues , SRV , Hendrix. Every time I watch a video of a solid state or analog amp, it’s overdriven metal garbage.
Come on BS, get a better instrument to show off your amps. Schector?
makes sense to use an affordable guitar in a beginner amp no?
its a nick johnston signature.. what is wrong with it?
Schecter guitars are very good and certainly outperform this can of wasps.
That's a great guitar, I don't know what the problem is.
@@ekostopoulos - Hahahaha. Ok. Forgive me. Fair enough.
