  • My 01 LX470 always struggled going uphills since I bought in 2017.
Spark plugs are like new, no codes. I saw how loose the throttle/accelerator cable was and I tightened it.
NO MORE issues going uphills. Very responsive when I get on the gas. Even my wife noticed that it doesn’t struggle going uphill when she goes to work.
*try this at your own risk.

Late to this video but brotha I cannot thank you ENOUGH. I picked up a 2 owner LX470 and it has had this issue since I've owned it, otherwise an amazing truck.
I was just thinking of what it could possibly be, anxious it could be some other issue.
    THANK YOU

So I just now looked at my cable and it was really loose. At lease half an inch of play. I did this trick and it responds better. Still waiting to really test it on a mountain here in SoCal. Thank you so much for this tip. I still have the RPM’s at 1k during idle. When you tightened it the second time did your idle RPM’s go up? Again thank you...

Jose Meza RPM stayed the same. Runs great.

Did your check engine light come on a few days after?

      Jose Meza no it didn’t.
Hasn’t come on except a month ago when one coil failed. I replaced it and no check engine since.
Might runs very good uphill after adjusting the wire.
      Thanks

Yeah, my light came on P1126 but it was for a different reason. What's the parts number on the denso radiator you got? How is it holding up?

Derkgphoto I actually tightened it more and response is much better from first adjustment.
