Be better tig welded, they'll be spatter going all over the speaker dome, also tig welding you can keep the temps down to avoid damage to the speaker and have a lovely weld after, I've done a few of these now to a very high standard theres a guy in germany does them, I beat his prices. 😉
This is very informative! My active sound of my Maserati Ghibli diesel died on me yesterday. How do you determine that the speakers are the problem? I mean, there are two… thx in advance!
Hi Connect ohmeter should be 2 ohms Or connect hifi speaker to exhaust or connect amplifier to exhaust speakers music should come out of exhaust It will be exhaust speakers 99% sure I've replaced loads Regards
hi! the OEM loudspeaker is not coaxial. Pioneer model is coaxial with 2 way .... that means the final sound is with more middle and hi .... it doesn't sound like the original one anymore.
Do you know if the sound actuator module/speaker unit is available as a spars part or from an OEM without the rest of the exhaust? Several aftermarket companies seem to have been able to source these
Hi pal Love the video very informative. I have a audi sq5 with the same problem the exhaust speakers aren't working. Do you provide a service to fix these as well as the maserati ones.
Hi I did the same looked all over to no avail, the OEM speaker had a sticker on made in Italy that' all. I fitted marine grade 6.5 inch good branded as I think the will last longer. I am unsure about the ohm rating but the the 4 ohm ones Ive fitted perform handsomely, I am doing sq5 this weekend I will check the ohm rating of the OEM speaker that I remove and I will let you know.
Sorry never found out the ohm rating of the oem speaker every single one i have replaced has been open circuit Quite frankly the Oem speakers are absolutely rubbish!
Many thanks for sharing this video! I have been scratching my head trying to find a solution and like @Paulwhiteside, I have an SQ5 with a blown speaker. Unfortunately I am based in NI so not acessible to yourselves but can you advise what speakers are required for the SQ5? P.S. Its a 2015 model Many thanks
I have an aftermarket Maxhaust active sound system. If I wanted the same sound from an original SQ5, are any of the parts/modules interchangeable does anybody know?
Well done 👍 I have the same problem in the my Maserati, now I know how to fix.... thanks
Thank you
Have a go at the repair it's been a success and I have done the repair for others.

A nice high melt point Pb free solder might be best….

Hi, does the new Pioneer speaker last? I heard rumours from some that they will break again after some months because of water.
I would expect so they are marine grade used for boat's
@@alfaspiderman3591 Also can I use Pioneer TS-MR1640 which can receive more power than TS-MR1600?
@@BLOADD yes you can I've installed plenty of the 1640s

Original speaker are 2 ohm
Why didnt they use a rubber sealand clips rather than welding at the original factory.
That would have been a super idea
