    Love the slow motion shot of the interrupted cut! Nowadays they’re able to print hooks up to 35 Tom capacity. Crazy!!

    Wow! I am always amazed at the size of the work you do! It's great to see the drawings and learn what the parts are for. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

    Chris, thank you for always showing the insert type. It would be a help to me to also know the spindle speed and the feed rate. I always enjoy your vids.

    That gauge sweep was a thing of beauty. That chunk of metal was a thing of beauty. No deviation what so ever.

    Nice work Mr. Maj. As a retired toolmaker, I really appreciate seeing this and your other videos. I am amazed at the size of the work and ease of confidence you demonstrate in performance of the job at hand while simultaneously producing a video. Appreciate glimpses of drawings and tooling used. Looking forward to the next video. 👍

      Yeah, it's a little hard to get a decent video and do your job at the same time. I don't really have time to set up some fancy camera equipment. Whatever I can record, that's what you see.

    Ohh that cnmg tool holder using the other corner for the interrupted cut…. I do a job that requires pins turned down from square cut blanks. Interrupted cuts all day long… I need one of those tool holders for cnmg432

    • @ChrisMaj
      @ChrisMaj  ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely should get one. Otherwise, you are just wasting 4 perfectly good corners on your insert.

    It's amazing what can be made on a machine these days that's held together with duck tape. :}

    Holy interrupted cut!!! What is the material?? What brand and grade are the carbide inserts?? The insert edges look like they held up better than I would expect with the interrupted cut.

    Chris how do you establish your Z tool offset on your MCRNR tool holder? I bought this tool and a FIX-8. Both have that positive angle that makes the Z axis touch off non typical. I know you can eyeball the Z position, but for conical work like this then it really matters that you accurately pick up Z.
